How did it all begin, Jerry?
Jerry Seinfeld is back for 2019. But let's look at Seinfeld: How It Began, the documentary. Seinfeld is a very Jewish American TV sitcom that ran for nine seasons on NBC, 1989-1998. It was created by Jewish stand up comedians Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld, with Seinfeld starring as a fictionalized version of himself. Set predominantly in an apartment in New York City, in Manhattan's Upper West Side (though filmed in the Valley in Los Angeles), the show features a handful of Jerry Seinfeld's friends and acquaintances. Best friend George Costanza (Jason Alexander), former girlfriend Elaine Benes (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), and neighbor across the hall Cosmo Kramer (Michael Richards), it is often described as being "a show about nothing," as many of its episodes are about the minutiae of daily life.
