The Grand Buddha (灵山大佛 or Língshān Dà Fó) is located at the southern end of Longshan Mountain, near Mashan, Wuxi township, Jiangsu province in the People's Republic of China. It is one of the largest Buddha statues in the world. It is a bronze standing Amitabha Buddha that weighs over 700 tons, completed in 1996. It is 289 feet (88 m) high, including a 30 foot (9 m) lotus pedestal. In 2008, a five-signets palace and a Hindu-inspired Brahma palace were built southeast of the statue. More
