Starting this Thursday, Feb. 18 at 3:00 PM, Kevin Ryder comes out of oblivion -- after being unceremoniously dumped by KROQ 106.7 FM, Los Angeles' former modern rock station, alongside Alt 97 (98.7 FM) -- to begin a new "morning zoo in afternoon drive" show for KLOS (95.5 FM).

• Who cares about KLOS, LA's last rock station? It's the only commercial outlet for death metal, grindcore, speed metal, classic rock, hair farmers' rock, glam rock, Breakfast with the Beatles (Sundays with Chris Carter), and R 'n R oldies -- thanks to Full Metal Jackie, Jasmine Jams, Matt MTV Pinfield, and others. Hardcore rock is available from the noncommercial student station at the Claremont College.

Kevin's back from the dead after crying when he got fired, after 30 years of service at KROQ. Now he's pairing up with former KROQ DJ Sluggo (Doug the Slug Roberts), one of the few rock DJs left in the city. The announcement was made by the station manager this morning on the Heidi & Frank Show, which is more about Sammie Marino since Heidi "Laughs Like a Horse" Hamilton found out she had a broken back and took time off to fuse it, mornings on KLOS.

When The Kevin & Bean Show dumped long-time weather gal and sidekick Lisa May, Frank Kramer (JFF Show) of the FHF Show (Frosty, Heidi & Frank) took her in. Gene "Bean" Baxter, his partner for three decades at KROQ, moved to England to do the equivalent of AM radio with not much success.

Frosty was fired for being too much like Bean, and Bean is not being invited back, so it will be all KEVIN...and a little Sluggo.

All this shuffling around is being blamed on new management at KROQ and its disastrous choices in the interest of making more profit, which led to eviscerating the funniest parts of Kevin & Bean and inserting Allie Mac Kay and a schlub named Jensen pulled from the audience.

Poor Ralph Garman, who landed on his butt in oblivion trying to do a paid podcast that hasn't quite been working out as planned.

• Kevin co-hosted The Kevin & Bean Show mornings when Psycho Mike Catherwood, who went on to co-host "Loveline" with Dr. Drew Pinsky after Adam Corolla left, was hired.
• Kevin & Psycho Mike started a podcast earlier in 2021
• Kevin also discovered Jimmy Kimmel, who left the show for Comedy Central then Jimmy Kimmel Live -- so this all matter to LA and the world.
• Hollywood is the throat chakra of the world, so what happens here affects all media all over the world, even the larger Bollywood (India), and all markets will feel this move by KLOS.
