Dalai Lama released from Hospital

Continued "abdominal discomfort" and a six day hospitalization resulted in surgery to remove gallstones. He was admitted to a New Delhi hospital where the operation was deemed a success as he was released today. Doctors warned him about extensive travels and his grueling speaking schedule. He is slated to visit Japan, Belgium, the Czech Republic, and Poland later this year. He will also attend a long series of meetings in the coming months to discuss issues surrounding Tibet.
