Is there a relationship between yoga and music? It was the prevalent theme at last weekend's Wanderlust Festival in Squaw Valley. Prof. Gardener -- a yoga teacher at TahoeYogaInstitute.com and a music professor at Sierra Nevada College -- explains: “Music and yoga are about being open, able to express yourself from a place of integrity.”
“It's about taking something from inside and putting it out into the world without blocks or limitations. In a nutshell, people are creative through the arts, which is essentially the practice of Yoga.”
Schuyler Grant, an organizer of Wanderlust and renowned yoga instructor, came to Tahoe and took Gardener's classes. Now Gardener is looking forward to Duncan Wong and John Friends' instruction: “This [festival] is a good opportunity for people to check out all kinds of yoga.
