Sharon Salzberg coming to L.A.

Nancy Gilmour (WON); SharonSalzberg.com; InsightLA.org
We highly recommend this Theravada Buddhist teacher. Having spent a day with her last fall at InsightLA in Santa Monica, it is clear how deeply inspiring she and her book, Lovingkindness, are.

Date: May 19, 2012 (Saturday)
Time: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Description: THERE ARE TWO EVENTS, SATURDAY AND A SUNDAY RETREAT, WITH SEPARATE REGISTRATIONS.

The Dalai Lama has stated, "My true religion is kindness." Although sometimes described in our culture as simplistic, weak, or inherently overwhelming, the quality of compassion has an inherent power to transform our worldview from one of fear and isolation to one rooted in clarity, courage and connection. Through discourse, guided meditations and question-and-answer, Sharon Salzberg will explore the strength and happiness of compassion. This workshop is suitable for new and experienced meditators alike.
