Premiering at this year's Sundance Film Festival is a new documentary by Jeremy Scahill. Watch an entire independent news hour weekdays, download the podcast, search a vast archive with Amy Goodman, Juan Gonzalez, and Nermeen Shaikh.

The film follows investigative reporter Jeremy Scahill to formerly Buddhist Afghanistan into Africa (Somalia) and the Middle East (Yemen) as he chases down the hidden truths behind the American military-industrial complex's expanding covert wars.

Former Democracy Now! intern Scahill and the film's director, Rick Rowley, an independent journalist with Big Noise Films visit the show after Sundance.

"One of the things that humbles both of us is [when] you arrive at a village in Afghanistan and knock on someone's door: You're the first American they've seen since the Americans that kicked that door in and killed half their family," Rowley laments. "We promised them that we would do everything we could to make their stories be heard in the U.S. Finally, we're able to keep those promises." More
