Buddhist sutras for recitation (book)

Bhante G: Bhante Henepola Gunaratana
This is a lavishly produced book, featuring carefully chosen selections from the Buddha’s teachings for use in recitation and reflection.

It has been compiled by Bhante G (abbot of the Bhavana Society of West Virginia) with a foreword by American Theravada scholar-monk Bhikkhu Bodhi.

Buddhist Suttas for Recitation provides everything needed to begin and maintain a practice of contemplative reflection.

These practices will deepen the connection to the Buddha, strengthen faith in the Path, and nurture an intellectual understanding of the Dharma.

2021 online retreat started in March
This unique volume includes carefully chosen discourses (sutras) of the Buddha from the Pali language canon — presented in inspiring and accessible English with accompanying Pali original — that convey the essence of the Dharma or Dhamma in Pali.

The introductory material explains the relationship between meditation and devotional practices, offers instructions on setting up a home altar, and gives advice on how to use these texts to enhance spiritual development.

The book is bound in a beautiful animal-free leather like material and embossed with gold foil. More
