Sanskrit Buddhist Manuscript Project (Oct. 27)

The Buddhist University of the West (uwest.edu) cordially invites scholars, academics, students and the wider community to attend the Rare Sanskrit Buddhist Manuscript Preservation (RSBMP) Project’s website launching ceremony.

The event will be held remotely on Zoom on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 11:00 am (Pacific Time).

The RSBMP Project is a research endeavor headed by Chair of the Department of Religious Studies Miroj Shakya. The project’s primary aim is to scan rare Sanskrit Buddhist manuscripts from private collections in Nepal (and elsewhere) and make them accessible free of charge to the world.

At its launch, the RSBMP Project will already have over 200 manuscripts available. Join in for the launch of an important resource that all students and scholars of religious studies generally and Buddhist studies in particular can appreciate. More
