The Weather Channel; Eds., Wisdom Quarterly
At a Glance Hurricane Kay will weaken as it tracks away from Baja California into the weekend. Its moisture will wring out heavy rain that could cause flooding in Southern California. Kay will also bring strong wind gusts, especially to mountainous areas. Kay's moisture will fuel soaking rain in Southern California that could trigger flooding as strong winds also howl through parts of the region. Kay made landfall as a Category 1 hurricane Thursday afternoon in Mexico's Baja California Peninsula southeast of Punta Eugenia. The storm is now weakening rapidly as its low-pressure center begins to curl westward well to the south of Southern California. VIDEOS: Kay bringing heavy rain, strong winds to Southern California (The Weather Channel)
