Hate unleashed at death metal festival

WackenTV, Feb. 14, 2023; Seth Auberon, Ashley Wells (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

(WackenTV) Premiered Feb. 14, 2023. Hate was unleashed alive and unwell at the Wacken Open Air death metal festival in Germany late in 2022. As general admission concertgoers rush onto the field to get up close to the stage (standing room only anywhere near the mosh pit), a strange addition is seen: a fan waving a rainbow flag, the universal symbol of LGBTQI pride.

Who dares to act "gay" at a death metal show?
Looks like metal music fans are getting more progressive and tolerant of our gay, bi, and trans brothers, sisters, and other sentient beings. The odd thing is not so much that there would be a flag waved or gays in attendance. Of course they've been in attendance. But why did WackenTV very deliberately choose to add the image of a proud flag waver coming into the festival grounds? To make points with the powers that be? "See, we're not all bad, we Hate revelers and Satanic speedmetal pushers."

"Hate," by the way, is a band from Warsaw, delivering Polish death metal to the avid crowd in front of the dusty Headbangers Stage at Wacken Open Air 2022. They played the songs: "Sovereign Sanctity," "Erebos" (7:16), and "Omega" (12:17).

Women at Wacken
Alissa White-Gluz joins female Demons In You singer for a rendition of "Tarja" at Wacken 2016 to show that women might growl better than the men.
When Cannibal Corpse played Wacken
George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher looks questionable as he sings the No. 1 hit "Hammer Smashed Face" years ago at Wacken. All the rainbow flags were probably kept in the closet that year.
