Edward Wadie Said (\sigh-eed\), Nov. 11935–Sept. 24, 2003, was a Palestinian American academic, literary critic, and political activist. A professor of literature at Columbia University, he was among the founders of postcolonial studies. Born in Mandatory Palestine, he was a citizen of the United States by way of his father, a U.S. Army veteran.

“In Search of Palestine - Edward Said’s Return Home” is a film presented by Edward Said, produced by the BBC in 1998. It captures the interconnection between Prof. Said’s personal recollection and the shared memory of the Palestinian people.
