(LiveScience.com) - A 10-year-old girl from Germany has had quite a normal life despite the fact that she was born with only half her brain. Even more surprising, she has almost perfect vision in one of her eyes. Scientists have now figured out why. The girl's brain rewired itself -- most likely in the womb -- so that it is able to process information from both the right and left fields of vision even though she is missing the right hemisphere of her brain, which failed to develop while she was in the womb.
