The most popular movie in China, "Lost in Thailand" depicts the adventures of an average Xoe in that "free" (thai) Buddhist land that is a lurid Las Vegas the size of a tropical country. This movie has been described as a Chinese version of "The Hangover," escapist comedy for had economic times, a delightful silver screen distraction. If nothing else, it will lead many more Chinese Mahayana tourists to modern Theravada Thailand, the ancient Buddhist kingdoms of Siam and Ayutthaya, which turned into the most exotic yet tourist-friendly travel destination since Vegas repackaged itself into a family-friendly amusement park.
