Food insecurity: "A Place at the Table" (video)

The next chapter on America's food crisis is exposed by the people that brought us "FOOD, INC." Today in the US 1 in 4 kids do not know where their next meal is coming from. Hunger, lack, scarcity, malnutrition, "food insecurity" -- all of which can paradoxically lead to obesity because of the stress and poor quality "junk" foods consumed as a result) rather than overt starvation is a growing epidemic in the US.

 

We can fix it. This is not a race issue with minorities on the receiving end and a majority group coming to the rescue. The majority is experiencing the crisis as well. And just like "global warming," which could not possibly be a problem because look how cold this winter storm was, our obesity crisis masks the stress, scarcity (of affordable nutrition), and insecurity that are epidemic. Impoverished areas have more obesity, not less. And places that suffer more stress visit the hospital, usually emergency rooms, at far higher rates. Jeff Bridges, Tom Colicchio star.
