Exploiting Mongolia -- the nice way (Naadam)

Naandam.co (YouTube, 9/18/18); Ashley Wells, Pfc. Sandoval, CC Liu (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

We came, we saw, we "extracted resources." It's the Western story of the world. Conquest with enlightened self-interest, or just a good marketing job to make it seem that way? "My, what a beautiful country you have here! Mind if we make off with it?" Hey, but any press is good press, and it's a great looking commercial. I'm a vegan who leaves wool to the sweet animals who grew it and need it to fend off heat and cold. (Yeah, it mainly fends off the sun and severe weather of all kinds, so anyone who says the animals are being helped by being forcibly shaved to "cool off" are deluded or rationalizing and must never have paid that close attention to what the animals are put through).

(ExamRevision) How the West exploits the poor countries of the world

The Next Story of Naadam: The "Democratization" of Cashmere?
Naadam [is a transnational corporate entity that] is democratizing cashmere. By sourcing cashmere directly from Mongolian herders and cutting out the middlemen, they claim to be able to pay Mongolian herders 50% more [one ducat rather than the half they're used to?], while also passing savings along to the consumer [is that you?], and they are committed to [not paying a ducat more] ensuring sustainable practices along the way. Now, at the request of customers, Naadam has taken those savings even further by introducing a 100% cashmere sweater for $75. To learn more about their business mission and to support the world's least exploitative and most sustainable cashmere, visit https://naadam.co. Or don't.

If only there were ways to preserve ancient cultures rather than exploit and plunder them! A few get rich while the world (our collective human inheritance) gets poorer. Look at the Turkic cultures, akin to the Buddha's own Scythian origins in ancient Shakya Land or Sakka-stan (Gandhara, Bactria, Afghanistan, Indo-Pakistan, Northwest India...).

Sex sells...wool sweaters and much more.
(TRT World) The Turkic Tuva and Khoton minorities of Western Mongolia are in danger of losing their language and way of life. The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has stepped in to help preserve their culture by providing boarding schools [re-education centers to get their minds right so that they accept imperial rule from the powers that be] that teach in their language and by turning their wool-gathering into [exploitative] work opportunities.
