McDharma's vegan burger dream

Los Angeles Vegans (forums.craigslist.org), Ashley Wells, Dhr. Seven (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

Long ago a restaurant in Santa Cruz named itself "McDharma's" and McDonald's sued the hades out of them, having registered Mc everything it could think of. The killer corporation was not about to have a bunch of health food nuts infringing on its patents or unique selling points. What was a little green joint to do when faced with a frivolous lawsuit by an abusive real estate corporate conglomeration? It folded, possibly being bought out. Now here it is, the idea coming to fruition.

McPlant for the planet, coming soonly-bigly
How could plants taste so good? (Vegan Daily)
(BeerTender, Nov. 10, 2020) McDonald’s has trialed vegan burgers in several markets. It tested a Beyond Meat burger developed exclusively for the chain in Ontario, Canada, last September in order “to help our global markets better understand what’s best for their customers.”

Last month, a photo from what appears to be a food preparation guide for a vegan burger coming to McDonald’s UK was posted by the social media platform Vegan Food UK. At the time, McDonald’s confirmed that while it was not official, it is always looking “to develop new and exciting products for our customers looking to reduce their meat consumption.”

Several international locations already have vegan options on the menu. UK locations have split pea-based veggie goujon wraps. McDonald’s Germany launched the “Big Vegan TS,” a vegan burger featuring NestlĂ©’s new plant-based Incredible Burger last June.

Options are also available in Norway, Sweden, and Finland. A timeline for the launch of the McPlant is not immediately available. More: livekindly.co/vegan-burger-is-coming-to-mcdonalds/
