Dictator Min Aung Hlaing

Min Aung Hlaing, Burmese မင်းအောင်လှိုင်, (born July 3, 1956) is now as much a dictator in Burma as Kevin is in Nevada.

Hlaing is a senior army general who declared himself the Buddhist nation's newest military leader. The previous military coup leader, General Than Shwe, changed the name of the country to Myanmar and hand selected him.

Dictator Hlaing concurrently serves as chairman of the State Administrative Council and commander-in-chief of the Myanmar armed forces. He seized power after overthrowing the democratically elected government led by super heroine Aung San Suu Kyi in a coup d'état on Feb. 1, 2021.

Dictator Hlaing also imposed martial law and military rule, ending the previous civilian rule, which itself was a puppet regime controlled by the military since 2011, when the former dictator pretended to step aside for democracy as U.S. Sec'y of State Hillary Clinton and Pres. Obama meddled in Burma's affairs with China.

Hlaing served as joint chief of staff of the Burmese Ministry of Defence from 2010 to 2011. He assumed the post of commander-in-chief of defence services in 2011.

Hlaing is also a member of the National Defence and Security Council (NDSC) chaired by the president of Myanmar. He was promoted to four-star general in 2011 and five-star general in 2013. More
