(Ajahn Punnadhammo) The Five Aggregates are the factors that comprise the person. What we take to be a self, soul, ego, entity, individual is thought of in terms of these heaps: form, feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness. These things are not single things but processes, piles of each. Penetrating this Buddhist teaching reveals that there is no self, but only iterations of form, feelings, perceptions of all kinds, mental formations, and discrete moments of consciousness.
