Earth Day birthday (Hallmark)

There are no Hallmark cards for Earth Day. At least, I don’t think there are. (It sounded authoritative, so I went with it). Even so, today would be a good day to sit back and reflect a bit, maybe take stock of the health of our planet, if we had the time. We could learn from what we’ve been able to accomplish and learn to be not afraid of what still seems impossible, or at least unlikely, given the epileptic political and economic systems we’ve given ourselves. It isn’t likely that many people consider these topics on Earth Day – or any other day, for that matter – but it might not be a bad idea. More

The Last Wilderness (lastwilderness.net) is an online repository of resources and narratives relating to wilderness, adventure, and the environment. It’s personal to Ken Campbell, in that it is used as a forward staging point for new ideas and observations to take written form.

It is also public, a place where thoughts and people can congregate, mix it up, and come away with different perspectives about the world around us.

People value what they know; the pursuit of knowledge brings with it a more valuable life.
