We're proud to kill to preserve our identity on our land for our people. F the other side! |
American Jew Rich Forer had a great spiritual awakening. It came after a spiritual journey, daring to question all he had been told growing up. Thanks to Jewish authors who had gone before him, questioning Israel, Zionism, and victimhood, he got to the other side to see Palestine's point of view.
It led him to stop fearing (a form of hate in that both are revulsion or what the Buddha called dosa) anyone who criticized Jews. When his Jewish identity was no longer at stake, he could see things as they really are. He stopped clinging to another Jewish state (the settler colonial project we call "Israel").
- [A "Jewish state" already exists far outside the Middle East. It is called the Jewish Autonomous Oblast (JAO), where all Jews are welcome to resettle, live in peace, and build a great monocultural utopia like many have always dreamed of doing. While we hear about trampling Palestinians, killing or displacing anyone who was already there as a "final solution," most Jews are never told about JAO. Non-Jews never heard of it. Why? No one seems interested in peace, preferring instead to fight, kill, and die on Muslim-Christian-Bedouin-Jewish "holy" land like their forefathers -- since that gets a government subsidy from two sources, the USA and the Jewish diaspora worldwide. So long as JAO exists, what excuse is there to raise a hue and cry about victimhood? The whole rationalization to commit genocide falls apart.]
This written description does no justice to what happened to him spiritually, experiencing a profound and spontaneous nondualism (advaita) any Hindu or Mahayana Buddhist would be eager to see.
He tells this moving story in the "Psychospiritual Roots of the Israel-Palestinian Tragedy" (Program #FORR001). It was recorded at the Chinook Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on April 20, 2024.
I'm an Israeli refusenik. I won't kill for identity |
The U.S. and Israel are no different from other countries. They claim "self-defense" as they launch aggressive attacks.
They invoke international law when it suits them then ignore it when it doesn’t (providing diplomatic cover for each other in the U.N. Security Council so that no other member can stop them).
Transforming fear to compassion |
Most people don’t have a clue about Israel-Palestine because they depend on heavily biased corporate news coverage in the U.S.
- [Coverage borders on propaganda in Israel, where Qatar's news channel Al Jazeera could not be allowed to continue to exist because it dared to bring a Palestinian perspective live from Gaza that went against the carefully crafted narrative]
Instead, they cling to shopworn myths and fantasies about themselves and their country.
The Gaza bloodbath [which many are calling a "textbook case of genocide"] is enabled [armed, funded, militarily backed, and diplomatically covered] by the U.S. Are we “good Germans” pretending not to see?
