40-Day Worldwide Meditation

In 2009 nearly 10,000 people in at least 29 countries participated. Lives were changed, and hope was renewed. Whether one practices alone at home or with a group, perform the opening ceremony. Why? "What nine months does for the embryo, forty early mornings will do for growing awareness and world peace."

TOOLS FOR SUPPORT
There are a number of systems in place to support everyone in staying committed to 40-days of practice:

MISSION
The mission of "A Winter Feast for the Soul" is to support individuals around the world in making a commitment to daily spiritual practice for 40 days. A life grounded in daily practice is one that knows inner peace. Inner peace translates into peace throughout our lives and ultimately to peace and healing for the planet. It only takes a few committed individuals to change the world. We are here to do that. Join us, people of all faiths.

GOALS
To create an annual worldwide period of spiritual practice for people of all faiths to come together through meditation in prayer. To support people around the world in finding inner peace through the creation of a daily spiritual practice. To recognize that every person and every group is entitled to its own unique form of expression of these goals and practice them without discrimination. To work toward a global consciousness of peace.

"A Winter Feast for the Soul" is a non-profit organization operating under the auspices of Rising Tide International, a non-profit corporation located in Sarasota, Florida. Originally formed in Sun Valley, Idaho in partnership with the Light on the Mountains Spiritual Center in order to create the first Winter Feast, which took place Jan. 15-Feb. 23, 2008. Based on our experience with the first Feast, we have created a separate organization and expanded our outreach worldwide. The impulse for our work came out of the stillness of a daily meditation practice. We support one another in maintaining that practice as a source of strength, wisdom, and compassion.
