The elimination of Columbus Day represents progress. The establishment of Indigenous People's Day in its place on the second Monday of October represents a huge victory for indigenous people and for everyone in Los Angeles.

Join us for a gathering to honor the work of LA City representatives and the community coalition that made this historic victory possible.

Attendees are welcome to visit Fowler Museum exhibitions FREE during the celebration event. The Fowler explores global arts and cultures with an emphasis on works from Africa, Asia, the Pacific, and the Americas -- past and present. Learn more about the open exhibits at fowler.ucla.edu. Refreshments provided.
