Official Animal Rights March, L.A. (Aug 10)

Meetup (facebook.com); Eventbrite.com; Deadmau5 "Animal Rights";  Jane Unchained; Ashley Wells, Ananda (Dharma Meditation Initiative), Jen, CC Liu, Crystal Quintero (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

LET'S END ANIMAL OPPRESSION
I got my V card. Vegan is for compassion.
We're taking to the streets to demand change for the better. Let's use our voices. Let's make a difference. Our presence can be a light of inspiration. Be part of history as it happens. Help make history. We will meet at Grand Park in downtown L.A. in front of City Hall.
This year's march will significantly differ from previous years and other marches. First of all, the march will be down streets officially closed by the LAPD's 1st Amendment Special Events Dept. in DTLA for maximum exposure. We'll be loud and visible.
We'll set off colored smoke flares to for a more vibrant and energetic walk back to the park. Once there, we'll have a mini-VegFest, with vegan comfort food trucks, vegan merchandise vendors, live pet adoptions, live music on stage, and live visual art:

Speeches by leading figures in the Animal Rights Movement, major media coverage, and celebrities.

The Official Animal Rights March (TOARM) is an annual vegan march founded by the animal rights organization Surge in 2016.

History
The march began in London in 2016 with 2,500 attendees. By 2018, TOARM succeeded in a global attendance of 28,000 vegans marching in 25 cities across the world.

Marchers are demanding an end to animal oppression. In 2019, TOARM is being brought back to Los Angeles to spread the message of animal liberation across the globe. It will be organized in 40 cities this year.

In order to make this march succeed, your help is needed. Invite friends, and tell every vegan you meet that this is the day we unite, stand up, rise up, and say, "No more, not in our name!"

The future is vegan. And we must continue to speak on behalf of animals until the day their suffering ends. March for caring
