We love Buddhist Asia, which is a cool place to travel for girls (KKaie/flickr.com)

WESTERN THOUSAND BUDDHA CAVES, China - Buddhist Asia is a beautiful place to visit for spiritual and adventure travel.

KKaie and friends took a trip deep into Asia's past, visiting caves, monasteries, and monuments.

Compared to the West, the East is surprisingly safe, given its more egalitarian outlook compared to all the talking we do in the U.S. about women's equality and sexual harassment.
The Earth or Mother Goddess in many guises
The ancestors were not all patriarchs, the way Chinese and Japanese Buddhism are usually presented, whether in Ch'an or Zen. Mahayana as a movement saw the rise of the cult of Kwan Yin (Guanyin, Avalokitesvara), the Goddess of Compassion, an movement analogous to the rise of the cult of Mary (Miriam, Mother Mary) in Catholicism.

Christianity and Judaism may be terribly patriarchal and sexist religions. But they have better roots evidenced by reverence for the Marys, there being more than one, most notably Jesus of Nazareth's mother, Miriam, and wife, Magdalene.

Men will worship you after this pregnancy
(Wife? He had a wife? Yes, while Christ may have been single, Jesus of Nazareth was a married rabbi, history shows. Look it up). The other Marys are conflated in the Christian Bible, dismissed as "prostitutes" or insignificant generic women in the background.

Temples? I'd rather climb a mountain...like this one in Nepal (Ilkerender/boombeat.com)

Girls, Beware of Suburban Dads
Creepy: actor pastor/dad child molester Stephen Collins looks like my dad (tmz.com)!
