(July 6, 2017) The current Dalai Lama (Tenzin Gyatso, born Lhamo Thondup, July 6, 1935) will be offered a long life offering by the Tibetan community in the regional capital of Leh in Ladakh (Buddhist India), in the state of Jammu & Kashmir, high in the Himalayas bordering Tibet, followed by the official celebrations of his 82nd birthday organized by the Tibetan community in Ladakh and the Ladakh Buddhist Association.
