Gary Sanders: The Practice of Equanimity
The Buddhist term upekkha -- one of the four Divine Abidings or Brahma Viharas -- is commonly translated as "equanimity," a spacious stillness of mind/heart that allows us to be with things as simply they are right now. Portland Insight Meditation Center Meditation Instructor Gary Sanders starts this program with a guided equanimity meditation, followed by mindful movement, then ends with a Dharma talk on the practice of developing this equanimous state.
