A concertgoer died Sunday (Aug. 11, 2019) on Slipknot's KnotFest tour at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, Illinois, after collapsing to the ground when he was thrust out of a mosh pit. As reported by Patch, the attendee -- Richard Valadez, 62 -- was moshing with others during the band's set in the Chicago suburb when he was knocked to the ground and had a seizure. After initial confusion resulted in delayed medical assistance, Valadez was pronounced dead at 11:34 p.m. local time, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. More

This is a bit strange because when Slipknot was recently in Los Angeles (San Bernardino, July 27, 2019), people in the slam pit nearly died -- being trampled, slipping in and out of consciousness -- due to a pit that was too brutal. Singer Corey Taylor stopped the show and said, "Nobody's f-ing getting hurt on my f-ing watch" and told everyone to, "Step the f*** back." No one was going to get hurt or killed on his lookout. I guess they f-ing were. Where was Taylor's all-seeing eye when Valadez went down? It just goes to show, heavy metal is a deadly sport.
