Warrant: Officers kill, lie on documents

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana - A search warrant for surveillance video from the Triple S Food mart store where a black Louisiana man, Alton Sterling, was killed by white police officers a week ago says that officers saw "the butt of a gun" in Alton Sterling's pocket during the arrest and that he tried "to reach for the gun from his pocket."

[This and such statements allows police to kill civilians with impunity. As long as they tell the court or fellow police investigator that they believed they saw that, no crime has been committed. They have not only the right to kill nonwhite innocents but the duty so that they "make it home to their family that night."]

Although ALL lives matter, the U.S. treats black lives as if they don't. But they do (AP).

The Justice Department has opened a federal civil rights investigation of Sterling's death in Baton Rouge.

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry said in a statement that he won't have access to the federal investigation on the shooting until it's completed and a decision has been made on potential federal charges.

Moore, the local district attorney, said the Justice Department would rather not have "parallel investigations." "It's better that DOJ do their work. They're completely independent [wink-wink], from nowhere around here [because if they're from elsewhere they would never side with police]," he said.

Moore also said he's recusing himself from any state criminal investigation into the shooting death of Sterling. More
