A feminist comes to terms with Men's Rights movement

It's easy to make fun of sexist patriarchs, but what about humans who have a point?

By facing long-held assumptions, one woman reevaluates her own gender biases. Documentary Filmmaker Cassie Jaye (The Red Pill) founded Jaye Bird Productions in 2008.

She has since produced a collection of documentary films praised as thought-provoking, entertaining, and respectful in representing competing views within each film. Jaye is known for tackling complex and often controversial subjects rather than advocating as she is expected to do.

A Feminist's Journey into the MRM

Jaye’s most notable films were the award-winning feature documentaries Daddy I Do (examining the Abstinence-Only Movement versus comprehensive sex ed) and The Right to Love: An American Family (following one family’s activism fighting for same-sex marriage rights in California).

Both films show that Jaye’s interview style is to allow people to share their views honestly, openly, and candidly while allowing audiences to come to their own conclusions.

(Benjamin Antman) It's ironic, but women are the only ones who can convince the world that men are humans as well. That is to say, any man who complains about his inequality compared to women is seen as a sad, deplorable character who hasn't yet seen the light of women's issues. The only way to short-circuit that story is to be a woman who speaks for men's issues.

 

(Eric Kuhn) "When you start to humanize your enemy, you in turn may be dehumanized by your community. That's what happened to me" is such a powerful statement and I believe it applies to more than social justice stances. For example, the US drone pilots that end up suffering from PTSD and regret the 1,000+ killings will then be attacked by their peers for being a coward. These pilots put the human life into perspective and realize that remotely killing "enemies"/civilians is just as heartbreaking as to do it by hand.

(Edt49er) Honestly, this is something many feminists need to see and do.

Or picking on a target with too little power to give ballsy Burr too much blow back to make him rethink the bit.
