Conversation about The Social Dilemma (video)

Eric Forbis (buddhafestcontact@gmail.com); Amber Larson, Dhr. Seven (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

One of the critical issues facing us as a society is the ever-increasing role of technology and our growing dependence on destructive and addictive social media.

There's practically no part of our lives that are not impacted by it, whether at work, in the family, or in the community. So here is an important online event happening Monday, Nov. 16, 2020.

Join The Center for Humane Technology co-founders Tristan Harris and Randy Fernando in conversation with mindfulness teachers Trudy Goodman and Jack Kornfield.

Tristan and Randy are prominently featured in one of the year's most talked about movies, THE SOCIAL DILEMMA, available on Netflix. Check out this docu-drama, which features the voices of techies, researchers, and activists working to align technology with the interests of humanity.

Watch Monday's online conversation with Trudy, Jack, Tristan, and Randy from 4:30-6:00 pm EST. REGISTER. Here are some of the key questions they'll talk about:
  • How can we understand and heal some of the extreme political division that exists across the US and other countries?
  • How do we grapple with the asymmetry of power between exponentially advancing technology and our human physiology?
  • Dependent Co-Arising: How is technology affecting us at an individual level, and how is social media shaping communities and our ability to solve the challenges in front of us?
  • What’s the solution and what changes do we need to make?
THE SOCIAL DILEMMA is a consequential film. Let's discuss.

Warmly, Eric Forbis
