Greta gets Gaza aid past IDF to Egypt



Greta Thunberg’s Gaza-bound aid ship reaches Egyptian coast despite IDF’s warning of naval blockade
(Oneindia News) Premiered June 7, 2025: Greta Thunberg and 11 other activists aboard the Madleen, a ship carrying aid to Gaza, have reached Egypt’s coast. Part of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, the vessel departed from Sicily to challenge Israel’s blockade on Gaza. The crew, including German activist Yasemin Acar, say they are safe but prepared for confrontation. The Israeli Navy is expected to intercept the UK-flagged ship if it enters Israeli waters, a move rights groups say would violate international law. Britain has so far refused Israeli requests to block the ship’s entry into contested waters.

Moments before Israeli forces abduct activists
(Middle East Eye) June 8, 2025: “We are being intercepted right now.” Footage shared by Al Jazeera, including video from reporter Omar Faiad and onboard security cameras, shows the final moments before Israeli forces detained activists aboard the Madleen, part of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla. The video captures Israeli forces shouting commands as they prepare to board, while activists sit with their hands raised in a clear show of non-violence. The activists had confirmed that no one was injured prior to the boarding. All contact with those on board has since been lost.
