President Trump’s lawyers sent a letter to former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon on Wednesday night, insisting he stop making derogatory comments about Trump and his family.

 

The letter comes after excerpts from a forthcoming book, "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House" by Michael Wolff, were published Wednesday and featured unflattering comments from Bannon about the Trump family.

Bannon along with other staffers in Trump's campaign had signed nondisclosure agreements requiring them to not make any derogatory comments toward Trump, his family, the campaign, or the Trump Organization.

“You [Bannon] have breached the Agreement by, among other things, communicating with author Michael Wolff about Mr. Trump, his family members, and the Company [the campaign], disclosing Confidential Information to Mr. Wolff, and making disparaging statements and in some cases outright defamatory statements to Mr. Wolff about Mr. Trump, his family members,” Trump attorney Charles Harder wrote in the letter.

 

The letter, first reported by ABC News, says “remedies for your breach of the agreement include but are not limited to monetary damages.” However, an amount is not disclosed.

 

In the excerpts published Wednesday, Bannon alleged that Donald Trump Jr.'s meeting with a Russian lawyer in June 2016 was "treasonous" and "unpatriotic," and said Trump’s daughter Ivanka was as “dumb as a brick,” among other things.

 

Trump fired back.

 

"Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my presidency. When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind," Trump said in a statement on Wednesday. "Steve was a staffer who worked for me after I had already won the nomination by defeating seventeen candidates, often described as the most talented field ever assembled in the Republican party."

 

“Now that he is on his own, Steve is learning that winning isn’t as easy as I make it look,” the statement added. “Steve had very little to do with our historic victory, which was delivered by the forgotten men and women of this country. Yet Steve had everything to do with the loss of a Senate seat in Alabama held for more than thirty years by Republicans. Steve doesn’t represent my base — he’s only in it for himself.” More

Thousands Across US Protest Trump Win

Protests against President-elect Donald Trump continue through the night in major cities across the U.S.A.

In New York City, thousands of demonstrators descended on Fifth Avenue's Trump Tower, and The New York Times says 15 people were arrested.  Anti-Trump protesters in downtown Los Angeles burned an effigy of Donald Trump's head in front of City Hall [as UCLA students had earlier burned a whole body in Westwood], and hundreds of protesters shut down the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles. Crowds in Chicago blocked the entrance to Trump Tower, chanting [the MDC punk rock lyrics], "No Trump, No KKK, No Fascist USA!"

US protests Trump, even if Bernie Sanders wants to work with him

Donald Trump will be the next US president. For thousands, disappointment turned to protest as supporters of [corrupt criminal] Hillary Clinton channeled their disbelief into a single defiant message: "Not my president," they chanted. "Not today." [Not ever?]

In response to Trump's victory, a shocking win allegedly fueled by the rural roar of a dismayed white America, tens of thousands in at least 25 US cities -- including New York and Nashville, Chicago and Cleveland, San Francisco and Seattle -- shouted anti-Trump slogans, started fires, and held candlelight vigils to mourn the result.

Many of those demonstrations continued early Thursday morning and led to dozens of arrests.

"People are furious, not just at the results of the election, but the rhetoric of Donald Trump," Ahmed Kanna, an organizer for Social Alternative Berkeley, told CNN's Don Lemon.

Demonstrations outside Trump's properties
In New York, authorities estimated that as many as 5,000 people protested the real estate mogul's victory outside Trump Tower. They included pop star Lady Gaga, a staunch Clinton supporter.

Their concerns ranged from policies, such as his proposed plan to build a wall along the US-Mexican border, to the polarizing tenor of his campaign that stoked xenophobic [fear of outsiders] fears.

"I came out here to let go of a lot of fear that was sparked as soon as I saw the results," protester Nick Powers said. He said he feared Trump will support stronger stop-and-frisk policies that would put many people in prison. He also was worried that Trump's victory would embolden sexist views.

Fifteen Trump Tower protesters were arrested Wednesday night for disorderly conduct, an NYPD spokesman said.

In Chicago, activists marched down Lake Shore Drive -- an eight-lane expressway along Lake Michigan -- toward the Windy City's Trump Tower with signs such as one that said, "I still can't believe I have to protest for civil rights."

CNN's Ryan Young, who saw a few thousand people there, said many chanted vulgarities toward the president-elect.

"As a nation we thought we had come so far, but it seems like we're taking many steps back," one woman said. "We want to come together to change that."

Meanwhile, protesters in Washington chanted "No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA," as they marched downtown to the Trump International Hotel. Elsewhere in the nation's capital, an illuminated sign proclaimed that the US is "better than bigotry."

Their cries turned profane after a solemn gathering of thousands who attended a candlelight vigil outside the White House to mourn the election loss.

Everything that has been built up has been destroyed," protester Brian Barto told CNN affiliate WJLA-TV. "America has failed (minorities)."Headed into Thursday, more than a thousand protesters in Los Angeles, including young Latino protesters, rallied outside City Hall, according to CNN's Paul Vercammen.

They chanted "I will not live in fear," "Fight back, stand up" and "¡Si se puede!" (Spanish for "Yes it can be done").

Protesters also set on fire a piñata depicting the head of president-elect.
 
Several protesters said they feared that family or friends might be deported once Trump takes office.

Brooklyn White, an 18-year-old protester who voted for Clinton, held a sign that said, "Hate won't win."

"We can't let it stop us," she said. "If he's the president then fine, but if Donald Trump is going to be it, then he has to listen."

Early on Thursday morning, the protesters marched onto the 101 Freeway and blocked traffic. Authorities arrested at least 13 protesters, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman said.

In Oakland, California, police said as many as 7,000 demonstrators took to the streets Wednesday night. By then, trash fires burned on a highway. Johnna Watson, public information officer with Oakland's police department, said three officers were injured.

Thirty people were taken into custody and at least 11 citations were issued for vandalism, assaulting officers, unlawful assembly, failure to disperse and possession of a firearm. Police said some protesters threw Molotov cocktails, rocks, and fireworks at police officers.

A few miles away at Berkeley High School, about 1,500 students walked out of classes Wednesday morning. It was one of numerous high school walkouts that occurred nationwide following the election.

Supporters: Trump an "agent of change"
As anti-Trump protesters aired their grievances with the election's outcome, supporters also came out in some places to express their enthusiasm for the president-elect.

In New York early Wednesday, groups of Trump supporters cheered his triumph outside Trump Tower. Others went to the White House late Tuesday and early Wednesday to show their support.

Welcome to political-consciousness. (It's about time you arrived). Part of waking up is becoming sensitive to the social situation. Buddhism is the marriage of wisdom and compassion.

So as "Engaged Buddhists," let us be mindful that although Jill Stein did not win (the 5% needed for there to finally be a viable third party option in American politics), at least Hillary lost. 

H*ll no! Hated in the US.

If Hillary had stolen this election the way she stole the primary and the way Bush stole it from Gore and Kerry, we'd all stay asleep for eight more years of wars of US aggression, drone assassinations, torture programs, unrestricted money in politics, and mass surveillance on everyone -- citizens of the world -- not paying attention or even suspected of any wrongdoing, we would all remain asleep. 

What happened? I've been sick.

But to make her lose, we have had to settle for the lesser of two evils in the duopoly that is the RepubloCrat party, otherwise known as the Corporate Money Party, just as candidate Stein warned us we are in the habit of doing. (Yes, bad as he is, he was the lesser of the two evils).

Next time, if there is a next time, let's not let people like Hillary and establishment mainstream Democrats steal it from the candidate the majority of voters actually wanted, which in this case was Bernie Sanders. 

And now, Mr. Trump, please proceed to destroy Washington...or be destroyed by Washington. Drain the swamp or swim in it like a Fat Cat who has forgotten he hates water. (Which, reader, do you suppose he will do? Of course!)

Money makes this country go around.

Our phony democracy does not allow for real change. Just ask the disgraceful failure Obama. (But I thought he was good? Good at what, making more war than Bush and Cheney combined? Selling us out at every turn, including instituting the insurance-industry-giveaway Romneycare? Living up to that Nobel Peace Prize by signing off on drone murder every Tuesday or bragging about murdering an Osama bin Laden stand-in?

Therefore, it's about time you join the protests and do something about it. Get engaged, get active, wake up. Get up, stand up, stand up for your... You know the song.

Anti-Trump protests erupt on 11/9

CHICAGO (AP) - The raw divisions exposed by the presidential race were on full display across America on Wednesday, as protesters flooded city streets to condemn Donald Trump's election in demonstrations that police said were mostly peaceful.

(Nov. 10, 2016) From New England to heartland cities like Kansas City and along the West Coast, many thousands of demonstrators carried flags and anti-Trump signs, disrupting traffic and declaring that they refuse to accept Trump's triumph.

 

In Chicago, where thousands had recently poured into the streets to celebrate the Chicago Cubs' first World Series victory in over a century, several thousand people marched through the Loop. They gathered outside Trump Tower, chanting "Not my president!"

 

Chicago resident Michael Burke said he believes the president-elect will "divide the country and stir up hatred." He added there was a constitutional duty not to accept that outcome. A similar protest in Manhattan drew about 1,000 people. Outside Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in midtown, police installed barricades to keep the demonstrators at bay.

Hundreds of protesters gathered near Philadelphia's City Hall despite chilly and wet weather. Participants -- who included both supporters of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who [couldn't do anything to avoid being robbed of the nomination by scheming Hillary] Clinton in the primary -- expressed anger at both Republicans and Democrats over the election's outcome.

 

In Boston, thousands of anti-Trump protesters streamed through downtown, chanting "Trump's a racist" and carrying signs that said "Impeach Trump" and "Abolish Electoral College."

We don't have a real democracy, a direct democracy, or even a representative democracy. We have a rigged system where you give your opinion with your vote, if you can manage to vote and not be suppressed and excluded, and the electoral college of 500 or so delegates actually picks who they want for president with no obligation to obey the popular vote. Welcome to reality.]

Clinton appears to be on pace to win the popular vote, despite losing the electoral count that decides the presidential race.

 

The protesters gathered on Boston Common before marching toward the Massachusetts Statehouse, with beefed-up security including extra police officers. A protest that began at the Minnesota State Capitol Tuesday night with about 100 people swelled at is moved into downtown St. Paul, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported. Protesters blocked downtown streets and traveled west on University Avenue where they shouted expletives about Trump in English and Spanish.

 

There were other Midwest protest marches in Omaha, Nebraska, and Kansas City, Missouri. In Des Moines, Iowa, hundreds of students walked out of area high schools at 10:30 a.m. to protest Trump's victory, the Des Moines Register reported. The protests, which were coordinated on social media, lasted 15 to 45 minutes.

 

Maybe Rage will play some free shows?

Marchers protesting Trump's election chanted and carried signs in front of the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C. Media outlets broadcast video Wednesday night showing a peaceful crowd in front of the new downtown hotel. Many chanted, "No racist USA, no Trump, no KKK."

Another group stood outside the White House. They held candles, listened to speeches, and sang songs. Dallas activists gathered by the dozens outside the city's sports arena, the American Airlines Center.

 

Love the flag as a leftist symbol they stole

In Oregon, dozens of people blocked traffic in downtown Portland, burned American flags and forced a delay for trains on two light-rail lines. Earlier, the protest in downtown drew several Trump supporters, who taunted the demonstrators with signs. A lone Trump supporter was chased across Pioneer Courthouse Square and hit in the back with a skateboard before others intervened.

 

Several thousand chanting, sign-waving people gathered in Frank Ogawa Plaza in Oakland, California. A night earlier, in the hours after Trump won the election, Oakland demonstrators broke windows and did other damage.

 

In San Francisco, hundreds are marching along Market Avenue, one of the city's main avenues, to join a vigil in the Castro District, a predominantly gay neighborhood. In Los Angeles, protesters on the steps of City Hall burned a giant papier mache Trump head in protest, later, in the streets they whacked a Trump piñata.

 

Hundreds massed in downtown Seattle streets. Many held anti-Trump and Black Lives Matter signs and chanted slogans, including "Misogyny has to go," and "The people united, will never be defeated." Five people were shot and injured in an area near the protest, but police said the shootings and the demonstration were unrelated.

 

Back in New York, several groups of protesters caused massive gridlock as police mobilized to contain them under a light rain. They held signs that read "Trump Makes America Hate" and chanted "hey, hey, ho, ho Donald Trump has got to go." and "Impeach Trump." More

Now what?

Now what? Business-as-usual. NPR is already on board with a Trump presidency, just like they were for Bush when he stole those elections. Soon the mainstream media, which prmoted him in the first place, will co-opt him. Middle America, you didn't really think you could trust a snake, did you? No, of course not; it's just that the Democrats scared you with the unholy alternative of even more Clinton corruption. At least Trump won by the crooked and rigged rules Crooked Hillary was playing by.
