Left wing hate radio? Stephanie Miller Show

I was on the Right (KFI AM) and still sound like it, but now I hate for the Left (KPFK FM).

On tour with gay friends (sexyliberal.com)
What if a big jerk radio talk show host pulled Left? Would it suck? Would it be uncomfortable, appropriating the mannerisms of right-wing hate radio on the AM dial?

Yeah, but what if she were pro-White House, pro-Biden, pro-Fauci, pro everything the mainstream media wants? Why have her on Free Speech Radio LA (kpfk.org) if that's all she's going to do?

It's radio Joe Biden and Dr. Fauci could love.
Prior to going nationwide, Stephanie Miller pulled #1 ratings at KABC AM and KFI AM in Los Angeles and other radio stations in New York and Chicago.

No one knows her, but she's had tons of exposure on TV and on prime comedy prime stages:
  • Host of CNBC’s Equal Time,
  • Oxygen TV’s I’ve Got a Secret,
  • and many others.

.
Isn't it better than nothing, Winston? - Not really
Miller has also appeared on CNN’s Joy Behar, Larry King Live, Reliable Sources, as well as MSNBC’s The Ed Show, Hannity and Colmes, and Neal Cavuto on Fox News, Good Morning America, the Today Show, the Tonight Show, among many others.

Miller comes to the Left from the Right. She’s the daughter of William Miller, Barry Goldwater’s 1964 Republican presidential running mate. Her humor and snappy political "wit" draw listeners from all sides.

Catch my show free on archive.kpfk.org
It makes her an equally irritating antidote to cantankerous male conservatives barking for the Right on AM.

The Stephanie Miller show airs weekdays at 6:00 am (Pacific) on Pacifica's KPFK.org and is available in the Archive (archive.kpfk.org) right after the fabulous Something's Happening with Roy of Hollywood, which airs "Buddhist Radio" on Thursday nights after midnight and Sunday mornings at 8:00 am.

Living robots reproduce: DARPA Xenobots

World's first living and self-replicating robots reproduce like Pac-Man
What is "life" now that science controls it?
The US scientists who created the first living robots say the life forms, known as xenobots, can now reproduce -- and in a way not seen in plants and animals.

Formed from the stem cells of the African clawed frog (Xenopus laevis) from which it takes its name, xenobots are less than a millimeter (0.04 inches) wide.
The tiny blobs were first unveiled in 2020 after experiments showed that they could move, work together in groups, and self-heal.

Now the scientists that developed them at the University of Vermont, Tufts University, and Harvard University's Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering said they have discovered an entirely new form of biological reproduction different from any animal or plant known to science.

Scientists say 1st living robots walk, reproduce
"I was astounded by it," said Prof. of Biology Michael Levin, director of the Allen Discovery Center at Tufts University who was co-lead author of the new research.

"Frogs have a way of reproducing that they normally use but when you...liberate (the cells) from the rest of the embryo and you give them a chance to figure out how to be in a new environment, not only do they figure out a new way to move, but they also figure out apparently a new way to reproduce."

Synthetic robot or organic organism?
When will SEX robots rejuvenate themselves?
The xenobots are very early technology -- like a 1940s computer -- and don't yet have any practical applications. However, this combination of molecular biology and artificial intelligence could potentially be used in...

Stem cells are unspecialized cells that have the ability to develop into different cell types. To make the xenobots, the researchers scraped living stem cells from frog embryos and left them to incubate. There's no manipulation of genes involved.

Dinos don't look like we've been told.
"Most people think of robots as made of metals and ceramics, but it's not so much what a robot is made from but what it does, which is act on its own on behalf of people," said computer science Prof. Josh Bongard, a robotics expert at the University of Vermont and lead author of the study. More

How Serpent in Eden became "Satan"

Shawna Dolansky, Biblical Archaeology Society, 4/18/21; Eds., Wisdom Quarterly
I didn't even exist yet, but already I got the blame for the downfall of this iteration of humans!
.
Adam, Eve, and the Serpent in the Garden
Christians believe a greedy Eve is all to blame.
Introduced as “the most clever of all of the beasts of the field that YHWH God had made,” the serpent in the Garden of Eden is portrayed as just that: a [snake].

Satan does not make an appearance in Genesis 2–3 of the Bible, for the simple reason that when the story was written, the concept of the devil had not yet been invented (biblicalarchaeology.org).

Explaining the serpent in the Garden of Eden as Satan would have been as foreign a concept to the ancient authors of the text as referring to Ezekiel’s vision as a UFO (but Google “Ezekiel’s vision” now, and you’ll see that plenty of people today have made that connection!)
Serpent, Eve, Adam, cherubim, a father God, and angels in the Garden of Eden (Domenichino’s "The Rebuke of Adam and Eve," 1626 (Patrons’ Permanent Fund, National Gallery of Art).
.
In fact, while the word satan appears elsewhere in the Hebrew Bible, which Christians call the Old Testament, it is never a proper name.

This is because there is no devil in ancient Israel’s worldview, so there can’t yet have been a proper name for such a creature.

The noun satan, Hebrew for “adversary” or “accuser,” occurs nine times in the Hebrew Bible -- five times to describe a human military, political or legal opponent, and four times with reference to a divine being.

In another part of the Bible (Numbers 22), the prophet Balaam, who was hired to curse the Israelites, is stopped by a messenger from Israel’s God YHWH, described as “the satan,” acting on God’s behalf.

In Job, “the satan” is a member of God’s heavenly council — one of the divine beings, whose role in Job’s story is to be an “accuser,” a status acquired by people in ancient Israel and Mesopotamia for the purposes of particular legal proceedings. More

I am so WOKE. You better be, too...or else!

WARNING: Shocking, inflammatory, vulgar, sexist, racist, politically incorrect opinions!

(SCR2) Is it 1984? No? Then let comedians, particularly stand up comics like Dave Chappelle, do their job! This compilation features Bill Burr, George Carlin, Bill Hicks, Rowan Atkinson, Ricky Gervais, and Stephen Fry.

Facebook is an enemy of freedom.
Q: Why but why would Wisdom Quarterly, a Buddhist website, not side with the oppressed?

A: That's just about all we do. And the oppressed in this instance are free speech advocates. Allow hate speech. Be offended. You are not saving the world by enforcing semantic rules.

Give us an honest racist over a politically correct fake woke person any day! Like the ACLU, we must defend the rights of those who would offend us, shock us, wake us from our complacency.

Read this classic novel and open your eyes to 2021.
Like Cary Harrison, we don't want to learn the new LGBTQI+ alphabet, and we shouldn't be made to in the name of some good agenda.

This is not the way to progress. This is the way to authoritarian fascism.

The job of the Left used to be to avoid the rush toward Big Brother and George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four as well as Aldous Huxley's Brave New World.

How have the defenders of the good become advocates for the bad? Knock it off. Let Chappelle insult whomever he wants. Let the Neo-Nazis march. Let yourself be offended. And the best time for that is in college on a campus.

The best ever Beatles' documentary in color
(The R Report, 8/30/21) The Beatles were a British rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. The group, whose best-known lineup comprised John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Pete Best Ringo Starr, are regarded as the most influential band of all time. They were integral to the development of 1960s counterculture and popular music's recognition as an art form. Rooted in skiffle, beat, and 1950s rock 'n roll, their sound incorporated elements of classical music and traditional pop in innovative ways. The band later explored music styles ranging from ballads and Indian music to psychedelia and hard rock. As pioneers in recording, songwriting and artistic presentation, the Beatles revolutionized many aspects of the music industry and were often publicized as leaders of the era's youth and sociocultural movements.

Afghan Girl evacuated from Afghanistan to Italy

USA Today via MSN.com, Nov. 26, 2021; Dhr. Seven, Ashley Wells (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

Afghan girl from famous cover photo evacuated to Italy following Taliban takeover
Wish I knew I was famous; I didn't get credit
ROME (USA Today) - National Geographic magazine’s famed green-eyed “Afghan Girl” (Sharbat Gula) has arrived in Italy as part of the West’s evacuation of Afghans following the Taliban re-takeover of the formerly Buddhist nation, the Italian government said today, Thursday, Nov. 26.

The office of Premier Mario Draghi said Italy organized the evacuation of Sharbat Gula after she asked to be helped to leave the country. The Italian government will now help to get her integrated into life in Italy, the statement said.

US military ruined another Asian nation
Gula gained international fame in 1984 as an Afghan refugee girl, after war photographer Steve McCurry’s photograph of her, with piercing green eyes, was published on the cover of National Geographic. [She never knew she became world famous.] McCurry found her again in 2002 [to tell her and see what she had grown up be]. More

"Licorice Pizza" will be big hit. Oh, the 1970s!

Paul Thomas Anderson; ZippZapps; Seth Auberon, Sheldon S., Ash Wells (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

I'm finally becoming an actor. I play a DJ.
We've been hearing about the new movie Licorice Pizza for a long time because local LA DJ comedian Tim Conway Jr. (KFI AM's funniest talk show host) has a bit part in it. We thought he was kidding about it being any good. A local Jewish rock star, of Haim fame, gets some screen time, too. It's a surprise that it looks really good, like The Wonder Years for the big screen, Bradley Cooper notwithstanding.

Licorice Pizza Panel: Alana Haim, Cooper Hoffman, and Producer Sara Murphy.
(ZippZapps, 11/21/21) PTA Film introduction. The first 46 seconds of the video is from Paul Thomas Anderson (PTA) introducing a screening of the film.

Hey, my eyes are up here, jerk.
Then the majority of the video is a panel with both leads, Alana Haim and Cooper Hoffman, in addition to producer Sara Murphy. This was from the screening held on Nov. 21, 2021 next to UCLA at the Regency Village Westwood Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Apologies for the shaky camera, going out of focus, and dim lighting at times. Old phone. I wanted to try to concentrate on not looking much at the stars through the phone but still capture the moment for everyone.

Death: Broadway's Stephen Sondheim at 91

Stephen Sondheim, the Broadway legend, has died at 91
Jeff Lunden, Weekend Edition Saturday (npr.org)
Stephen Sondheim created an art form.
Stephen Sondheim, the Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning Broadway songwriter has died at age 91.

His death occurred early this morning (11/26/21), according to Aaron Meier at DKC O&M, the producers of Company on Broadway.

Sondheim would have been the first to tell you he was a Broadway baby. As a teenager, he learned about theatrical songwriting from a master – Oscar Hammerstein, the author of Showboat and Oklahoma!, among others – and, by the time Sondheim was 27, he had his first show, West Side Story [now made into a hit movie by Steven Spielberg], on Broadway.

Even though he only wrote lyrics to Leonard Bernstein's music for West Side Story, it was the beginning of a remarkable career in which Sondheim – as lyricist and composer – elevated what was, essentially, a lighthearted, optimistic, commercial entertainment into an art form. More
