A very VEGAN Thanksgiving in L.A. (FREE)

Vegans have a Bizarro sense of humor
Imagine hundreds of vegans, vegetarians, and compassionate Thanksgiving diners all in one place for a potluck picnic.

It's been happening for years. The event is promoted in lots of places, so many more attend than the number who RSVP here.

Feel free to invite local friends because non-veggies are welcome and encouraged to attend.

It's Los Angeles' longest running single day vegan tradition, going on for more than 25 years. Hundreds attend annually.

Dairy-free, gluten-free pizza
Come connect with beautiful people, share delicious food, enjoy a live event outdoors at Cheviot Hills Park, Culver City, on the west side of LA. There will be music, live performances, and an open mic. Bring chairs, blankets, tarps. Most of the picnic tables will be used for an incredible diversity of potluck dishes. Bring a drum or other musical instrument, a frisbee, or a ball to toss. Great for children and well behaved doggies on leashes.

Use your best judgement in practicing health and safety protocols. Hand sanitizers will be available, and only attend if you're free of virus symptoms. Due to park rules: NO ALCOHOL.

FREE PUBLIC EVENT
FREE? There is no fee to attend, but a vegan dish to serve 8-10 is required. See details on what to bring to participate.

For each member of your party, please bring a vegan dish to share that will serve at least 8-10 people that is ready to serve. For example, if there are two people in your party, please bring 16-20 servings.
  • "Vegan" means no meat, fish, eggs, dairy, or honey...NO animal products at all.
If we were hippies at Woodstock
Organic, chemical free, GMO free foods are encouraged. Both cooked and raw vegan food is welcome. There will be a space designated for raw food. Please be conscious to place your dish there only if every ingredient in your dish is 100% raw. For example, pasteurized foods, commercially canned, and most jarred food are not raw, as their natural enzymes are undone.

Please bring an ingredient list to help those with allergies. Leave out the gluten wherever possible.
  • To prevent paper and plastic waste, please bring your own plates, bowls, cups, eating and serving utensils.
WHEN
We start gathering at 11:00 AM, hold a beautiful opening ceremony at noon, then we begin our feast!

WHERE
Enter Cheviot Hills Recreation Center (aka Rancho Park) at the north entrance on Motor Avenue (the first entrance south of Pico Blvd.) When you enter the park, there is a parking area on the left. Drive past this parking area and follow the road to the next parking area, which is a few hundred feet down. Walk to the picnic tables across the grass behind the baseball field. "VEG" signs are posted that point the way.

(There is another picnic area at the far end and close to the parking lot; this is not our picnic area).
