Murderous Israeli settlers terrorizing West Bank

Tortured West Bank Palestinian activist describes IDF military and settler carnage in the West Bank with Issa Amro
(The Real News Network) Nov. 3, 2023: The Real News Network Podcasts. Every day Israel's murder toll is rising as the Palestinian civilian death toll rises dramatically.

Israel continues its genocidal carpet bombing campaign (using American bombs) and a ground invasion that seems to be taking aim at obliterating Gaza City in a berserker revenge attack, a bloodletting, or what might well be described as a pogrom under the guise of seeking out Hamas officials hiding among sitting targets Israelis can shoot and bomb at will.
  • Israel (the IDF) has targeted more than 1,100 bombs on Gaza, laying waste to innocent children (who are not innocent because they might grow up to be Palestinian Arabs), civilians, infrastructure, hospitals, ambulances, journalists, babies, toddlers, pregnant females, the elderly, and many unarmed noncombatants.
Meanwhile, illegal Jewish settlers are torturing, terrorizing, and murdering Palestinians in Palestine, namely in the West Bank (or what Israel calls Occupied Territory because it is illegally occupied by fanatical Jews intent on stealing Palestinian land and making it impossible for Israel to sue for peace or arrive at any viable two-state solution).

There is no Hamas in the West Bank, so if this were a war by Israel on Hamas, it is killing Palestinians in the wrong place, but any excuse will do.

The IDF, Israel's violent military forces, are backing the Jewish settlers and turning a blind eye to their war crimes and atrocities. In fact, it is widely believed that the settlers are acting on behalf of the IDF to give them plausible deniability. Jews killed Muslims, but it wasn't an act of war just "communal violence" towards Palestinians in the West Bank that is intensifying.

"It's a closure, it's a curfew, in many places in the West Bank," tortured Palestinian Issa Amro says. "It's not normal life these days.

"Soldiers are everywhere [in the West Bank, which is separate from Gaza, illegal Jewish] settlers are everywhere, people are afraid to leave their homes, they don't go to work, they don't go to school, they don't go to universities."

After losing touch with Issa Amro during the day because he was escaping from settlers who were chasing him in Hebron (a city in the West Bank overrun by Jews), TRNN managed to reconnect over the phone and record a 9-minute conversation about the hell working people in Palestine are going through right now.

Issa Amro is asked what workers in the US and Canada can do to stop the slaughter of Palestinians by armed Israelis, settlers and soldiers.

Issa Amro is a Palestinian human rights defender living in Hebron, in the Occupied Territory known as the West Bank. He is the co-founder and former coordinator of the grassroots group Youth Against Settlements.

Days prior to this recording, he was violently "evicted" from his home in Hebron and tortured by Israeli troops.
  • A note about the audio: After hours of silence and failed phone calls, Issa contacted Max to inform him that he was temporarily safe and had 10 minutes to speak over the phone. Dropping everything he was doing, Max quickly opened his computer, began a QuickTime recording, and called Issa on speakerphone.
