Ayn Rand Atheists Crashing Tea Party

Gary Weiss (Frum Forum)
Different faces of the right wing (which, yes, includes fearless B.S. Obama)

One of the seminal moments in the presidential campaign slipped by at the Republican debate in Las Vegas on Oct. 18. It didn’t involve the frontrunners, and it had nothing to do with Herman Cain’s “9-9-9” plan or the sexual harassment claims.

If you were watching, you’d have heard Ron Paul say, “We need to see everybody as an individual. And to me, seeing everybody as an individual means their liberties are protected as individuals, and they are treated that way, and they’re never penalized that way.”

Rick Santorum responded, “I disagree in some respects with Congressman Paul, who says the country is founded on the individual. The basic building block of a society is not an individual. It’s the family. That’s the basic unit of society.”

Ayn Rand had again loomed in the presidential campaign. It wasn’t the first time, and you can bet it won’t be the last. What this exchange demonstrated is that Rand’s views reach well beyond the advocacy of laissez-faire capitalism for which she is best known. They extend into a wide variety of other areas -- and they are capable of making the right, especially the religious right, as uncomfortable as liberals.

Paul is strongly influenced by the Russian-born novelist-philosopher. Rand believed that the individual is supreme, owing no duty to anyone else, including his family. Rand’s novels The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged, which set forth her philosophy [which greatly influenced her main student, former Federal Reserve chief Alan Greenspan, and the downward course of the USA]... Stocks surge: Money lost?

WQ Economics Bureau
How are we lied to, how are we misled? The popular media makes people regret not being greedy by spotlighting imaginary losses. The gains one would have had, could have had, should have had IF ONLY... It's a canard. The following is another example from the right wing media.

Stock surge burns some
The market's big rally is making many investors who dumped stocks regret their timing. Bought high, sold low
There will be no story when people are non-greedy and stay financially secure as a result. That would not profit the giants who pull the strings. False run-ups on the way down in a collapsing market is a classic way of milking investors, particularly the institutional variety. Easy profits are not the norm for the stock market -- unless one counts isolated blocks of time and 20/20 hindsight. Ask Warren Buffett about his massive losses or Alan Greenspan about his pending ignominy.

There has been a bubble forming in American finance for a long time. It was false inflation based on easy credit, consumerism, and debt. This is the lesson to learn from the current world financial crisis. No lesson learned means no end in sight. The first ZEITGEIST MOVIE explains why. But the "Federal" Reserve, the Treasury, and Wall Street is happy to keep us in the dark, to keep investors afraid, and to be bailed out by any administration in office. America, after all, has the best politicians money lobbyists can buy.

Economy: Panic vs. Don't Panic

Federal Reserve (private) Bank chair, Bernake

Historic cut may be coming
The Fed is expected to cut interest rates again, possibly to the lowest level ever.

Money woes: Naga versus Garuda

Stock market panic 2008

Blame the Nagas for their oversight. Blame the "Federal Reserve," a private bank, and its system of debt. Blame Fed chairmans Greenspan or Bernanke. Blame the Garudas for their negligence. Or explore the meaning of the information handed down as "mythology." It serves a purpose history would not allow.

Nagas (serpents, reptilians) are semi-human "overlords" in Buddhist cosmology. They are kept in check by Garudas (aka Supannas, pterodactyls, giant eagles, semi-human birds). Their contests play out unseen by ordinary eyes. But in very real terms, there are contests with worldwide ramifications being played out on Wall Street, a natural resort built by Nagas, who rule by money more than force.
