Teri Garr has passed away, after decades of surviving with muscular dystrophy and retiring from the Hollywood limelight. Radio host and spiritual intuitive relative Lisa Garr and family are handling it as Teri passed away in peace surrounded by family.
Young Frankenstein: Put the candle back!
(Andrea YT) Young Frankenstein is a 1974 American comedy horror film directed by Jewish genius Mel Brooks (Blazing Saddles). The screenplay was co-written by Brooks and actor Gene Wilder, who also starred in the leading role as the title character, a descendant of the infamous Dr. Victor Frankenstein (creator of Frankenstein's monster), and Peter Boyle as the monster. The story, which became a novel published in 1818, was originally composed by a very young Mary Shelly, referring to Frankels and Steins (Jews) making a lot of trouble in Europe, England in particular. She was simply engaging in a parlor game with other writers, who all went on to become famous, but she herself is now most recognized for the monster story Frankenstein and the legendary creature she created. It has haunted countless children since then right along with bloodsucker Dracula (and the female version Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, who has troubled countless young boys).

Teri Garr, Young Frankenstein star, dead at 79
(Entertainment Tonight) Oct. 29, 2024: Teri Garr has died. She was 79. A rep for the actress confirmed, Garr died "surrounded by family and friends" today (Tuesday), following a two-decade battle with multiple sclerosis. She was best-known for her memorable comedic roles in Young Frankenstein and Tootsie, earning an Academy Award nomination for the latter in 1983. In the 1990s, she was tapped as a guest star opposite Lisa Kudrow on the TV sitcom Friends, matching her on-screen daughter's trademark quirkiness as Phoebe Buffay's long-lost mother.

The lies in the skies exposed: “He who controls the weather controls the world.”
FrankenSkies is an 80-minute social change documentary regarding the solar geoengineering and chemtrail agenda that affects every living being on earth.
The struggle of bringing awareness to this subject, despite the obstacles of a socially engineered populace and the military-industrial complex with its endless resources, is palpable in this awakening truth feature.
A well-timed, eye-opening exposé, this film reveals the campaign to normalize chemical cloud formations through atmospheric aerosol dispersals.
Up against a normalization timetable encompassing a controlled media and an indoctrinated educational and political system, activists ask the question: Are you consenting by your silence?
A shocking and informative documentary on climate engineering, frequency control, and CIA manipulation, the film’s narrative unfolds through a historical timeline of experimentation on humanity, bringing us to a modern-day lab that encompasses the air we breathe and dictates when and where the sun shines or fails to shine… More: frankenskies.com

Reading the genetic information of the ancient Teotihuacans of Mexico
Mexico is nearly as diverse as Alta California.
(Science X) All present-day and ancient Mesoamericans (the people of Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica) belonged to haplogroups A2, B2, C1, D1, and D4, says Dr. Fuzuki Mizuno (phys.org).
Teotihuacan was one of the largest metropolitan centers in ancient Mexico/Mesoamerica in the pre-Columbian era.
Six ancient individuals unearthed from Teotihuacan City in Mexico between the third and seventh centuries AD were examined in a study led by Dr. Fuzuki Mizuno at the Toho University School of Medicine.
Scientists have determined the entire mitochondrial DNA sequences of these ancient Teotihuacans, revealing their genetic diversity.
Additionally, this study demonstrates the dependence of Teotihuacans on maize [early pre-Monsanto Frankenfood corn] as their primary food source.
Teotihuacan City was established in the northeastern Basin of Mexico around the second century BC and flourished the most in the fourth century AD, exerting a significant cultural influence throughout Mesoamerica.
I'm sure Dr. Mizuno will be peer-reviewed.
In studying ancient societies, DNA analysis of individuals excavated from archaeological sites has provided critical insights into the lives of those who lived there.
However, the success of ancient DNA analysis is highly dependent on preserving the DNA samples. The Teotihuacan region is not favorable for preserving ancient DNA because of the climate, highly fluctuating temperature and humidity, and the properties of volcanic ash soil.
Shadow: The Temple of the Feathered Serpent, Teotihuacán, México (Diego Delso)
.
In the analysis of stable isotope ratios (δ13C and δ15N), the six ancient samples from Teotihuacan were mapped to an area indicating the intake of stable isotopes through a staple maize diet. Black circles represent Teotihuacans. Green, Blue, and Orange indicate pre-maize, transitional maize, and staple maize diets, respectively. Reference data for stable isotope analysis of ancient Mesoamericans were obtained from Kennett et al. (2020). Credit: Dr. Fuzuki Mizuno

Therefore, there have been few studies of ancient DNA in this area. Recent developments in next-generation sequencing and technical advances in molecular biology have revolutionized the analysis of ancient DNA.
(The Take) Poor Things, the new Yorgos Lanthimos film starring Emma Stone, has been racking up nominations and wins on this year’s award circuit.
But it also sparked quite a bit of controversy thanks to one major feature of its plot. So what is the film actually about, what world is it supposed to be, and is it empowerment or exploitation?
Here’s what the world needs to know about Poor Things, those offensive sex scenes, and the message the film is trying to convey between sheety sheet scenes.

WQ Review
I'm a producer, like Barb's Barbie
While one may be deceived into thinking this is a gorgeous film with bright colors, it is really, dark, dingy, and uber steam punk for a lot of the beginning. When colors enter, one realizes this is not even this world unless it represents Tartaria(mudflood Tartary), which would make a lot of sense. But it's supposed to be same old same late 1800s Mary Poppins' London.
What a ride 14+ years since Easy A
We went to see Poor Things because Mr. Skin said Emma Stone was naked in it, a first for an A-listed Hollywood starlet in her prime or even at the tail end of it. We wanted to see action. We were not expecting grotesque gore, so many close ups of Willem Dafoe's disfigured face.
He's ugly enough, but here he is unsightly (nearly impossible to look at for very long), although his voice is warm, Irish, and inviting. He's cuddly, which is a feat for the character of Dr. Frankenstein. What is bothersome about the film is Frankenstein's monster ("Bella Baxter" played by Emma Stone), unlike the nice Herman Munster character Hollywood has always given us even in the original adaptation of Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley's short story competition winner that became a book about the Jewish menace.
Optioned books are just starting points for films.
Shelley almost certainly never imagined Oppenheimer, the winner of this year's Best Picture Oscar from the Academy, when she combined the common Jewish surnames Franken and Stein overtaking Europe in her youthful estimation.
Emma Stone is a stonehearted brute, a callous child pursuing her hedonistic pleasure without knowing what it is or that other people are being hurt. That should have been a good story, but she's too naive and self-centered with a physical age far exceeding her infantile mental age.
It's really the story of the sexual exploitation of a child's brain but made "okay" because that brain has been transferred into her dead mother's body. Which is odd.
The film might have crossed the line at some point, when incest and child rape loom large as the original husband returns to claim his wife/daughter, have sex with her, and imprison her in his castle. He's an imperial European warrior, "the General," after all. Those sex scenes must have been left on the cutting room floor when previewers objected; one would have to check the text.

Willem Dafoe in Planet of the Apes Poor Things
This general is not the first man to try to control Bella or imprison her. The audience is supposed to applaud that she's so willful and not mind that she's so childish. But does anyone applaud her suicide, utilitarian choice to undertake prostitution, or how she breaks the hearts of her "God" (not the tribal god of the Bible but "Dr. Godwin 'God' Baxter," her creator, Willem Dafoe's role as the Dr. Frankenstein) and her betrothed, just about the only two men in the movie she doesn't have sexual relations with, though it's not for lack of trying, her lesbian experimentation, philosophical dabbling, her stealing one man's fortune for a good cause then squandering it so that it doesn't even fulfill that good function... monster, demoness, dummy, child.
Frankenstein author Mary Shelley was born Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin in London in 1797. She was the second child of the feminist philosopher, educator, and writer Mary Wollstonecraft and the first child of the philosopher, novelist, and journalist William Godwin (eerily the character of Willem's Godwin). Mary Wollstonecraft died (just like in Poor Things) around the time of her famous daughter's birth. Godwin was left to bring up Mary, just as Dr. Godwin raises Bella like a doting father and caring creator god, in spite of character which is to be scientifically distant and professionally detached just as his medical doctor father was with him.
Great actors age badly: Mark Ruffalo
One then realizes how well Mark Ruffalo is playing his role. His character is interesting, almost making him the real protagonist of the movie, which probably explains why they have to disappear him and leave him unexplained. What happened to him? When he shows up by surprise to present the great volta at another very pivotal moment for her betrothed, he doesn't look at her, calls her a demon (and it's hard to disagree), exacts his revenge, and bam, that's it for him. The most enjoyable performance in the whole movie, and he's gone. Was he eliciting too much sympathy and approval from the test audiences? Did Ruffalo win an Oscar best supporting actor?
C'est la vie. You can't win them all any.
That Emma [Sad]Stone beat Lily Gladstone, the first Native American to be nominated for a Best Actress Oscar -- by the way, why does Hollywood insist we say "actor" for both males and females everywhere except at the Academy Awards? -- is understandable.
Hollywood loves Stone (remembering her charming Academy Award-winning performance in Lalaland with Ryan "Ken" Gosling), and the role was a supporting role that should have been in that category up against The Holdovers' Black winner. Either way, it was up to Scorsese to accentuate her and downplay bad guy Leonardo DiCaprio, who makes atrocious killers of flower moons seem sympathetic with his acting.

Mexican Elvis passes away: Juan Gabriel
Well, he was more of a flamboyant gay icon* ala Liberace, Michael Jackson, or honorary-Mexican Morrissey, who lived in L.A. (Santa Monica), recorded here, while selling more than 100 million albums around the world, mostly of the sentimental sort. He was so L.A. that he just wrapped up two sold out nights at the L.A. Forum 48 hours beforehand, playing a 3 hour final show that may have done him in, along with the weight and long-simmering heartbreak.
*Juan Gabriel was Mexico's gay icon — but he never spoke of his sexuality Kate Linthicum (Los Angeles Times, Aug. 29, 2016) reporting from Mexico City
With his glittery capes, slinky dance moves and ultra-romantic lyrics,
Mexican superstar Juan Gabriel was an unlikely king in a country known
for its machismo. He never spoke about his sexuality, yet was widely
assumed to be gay. It’s no surprise that the singer was an icon in
Mexico’s gay subculture. But how was it that he came to be celebrated
by the country’s Catholic, conservative and often homophobic mainstream? More
She closed the book, placed it on the table, and finally, decided to walk through the door. Vandy sang as she walked:
"Are you tired of the tide? Are you tired of the tide? Roll in a rock pool. Come, let's hide. Do you know a raging wind? Do you know a seagull? Do you know a wreck?"* She answered. "Yes, I'm tired of the tide. Yes, I'm tired of the tide. I rolled in a rock pool as I tried to hide. And I met a raging wind. And I called a seagull. And I found the wreck upset."
The nanny tied her bandanna snugly to meet the baby's crying without losing her mind. A scarf might hold it in place. The swoosh of pureed carrots had seen her fall apart in days past. If she could just keep it together, she might make it to Friday night's preparation for the Halloween bash.
Debauchery ensued. But this time salt-free peas came hurtling in jellied clumps suitable for framing: It occurred to Vandy that if these splatters were aimed at a craft paper canvas, his parents would cherish it forever. But as it adhered to the refrigerator door without the aid of a magnet, every track of VanJones' creation had better be removed or she could forget being granted a day off.
Three days of legume-free debauchery would require time to recover, a respite to reconsolidate after a long weekend.
"Tower of Strength" (begins at Minute 10:00) by Rudimentary Peni
Vandy never wanted children of her own. Why bring innocent hearts into a world of hurt and patriarchal rules? Now here she was raising little Eichmann for an attorney and a real estate magnate, hotshots for The Man, IKE.
"I LIKE IKE," the ironic political sticker in the guest restroom read, above a defunct neon sign near overflowing towel bin. The real man in Vandy's life was Vanderhoff, who insisted everyone in his home go by Van-something or other.
Vandy aimed and managed to hit the side of Vanderhoff's van as it sat parked on a yellow patch of an expansive back lawn. It caked artistically like crackled glaze on the sunbaked side of her growing omelet protest piece.
Vanderhoff wouldn't notice. He was too busy depositing depositions and shortchanging Vandy, who frequently worked uncompensated overtime like visa-less Vanna and unassertive Vanessa. Apparently, neither Swedish nor Spanish have a polite phrase for "You owe me." Vanderhoff depended on that.
His library was impressive full of work by the Founding Fathers. A book by the seminal founder always irritated Vandy, who as a child was taught to revere Benjamin Franklin. He was wise for a patriarch, she thought, in noting that:
"The eyes of other people are the eyes that ruin us. If all but myself were blind, I should want neither fine clothes, fine houses, nor fine furniture."
She underlined it the quote, tore the page out of Vanderhoff's first edition -- placed the book on the table, rather than returning inconspicuously to the shelf, and finally, walked through the door. It was now yellowing in mute protest under the van's windshield wiper blade like a forlorn parking ticket that would never be paid.
But Halloween would make up for it with the most hideous costume imaginable: polyester argyle socks, patent leather shoes, roomy boxers, a starched white shirt, overly tight tie, loose slacks, or "trousers" as the salesman referred to them, adding: "Your father would love our fall color line -- tan, beige, burnt sienna, and of course the new khaki. May I show you?"
"This stuff is for a costume," Vandy gritted her teeth in a circular motion as her eyes followed.
It was like shopping in the gap between some banana republic and only with even less selection and a crisp perma-press feel that unsettled Vandy. Of course, it was all Hallow's Eve, a day of resplendent evil, of trampling vermin demonstrating for a living wage.
The courthouse towered over the Occupation. And Vandy's tent, distinctive by its bold feminist fist emerging from a circle and cross, languished in the shadow of her employer's arrogant claim to fame. Was he up there now, Vandy wondered as she honked her bike horn. Was he annoyed or distracted as she loudly led a chant, "The people united will never be defeated!" Or was he too busy seducing a clerk in chambers to notice the world below.
"This button down shirt will match the trousers fabulously," the sales clerk added, hoping to make another sale in spite of Vandy's well worn jeans and Hempenstock sandals. She had already spent beyond the limit she imagined Vanderhoff would trouble himself to question when the credit card bill came.
"Why don't you join us?" she asked the salesman as she pressed a protest flyer into his hand. "Oh, I'm not really a sales-clerk. I'm a law-clerk!"
"Oh, what did you have to do to get in, put out?" Vandy muttered under her breath. She was tired of the tide. She dialed her cell phone on autopilot. "Awk awk," she squawked. Her best friend would understand. She only had a chance to say that much.
VanDelilah, a fuming wreck, would be home soon. Vandy -- more vandal than VanDelilah-light -- had gotten her handle when the patriarch saw a similarity in them. He was unwilling to deviate from the family pattern of lumbering everyone with a Van' handle, and this encompassed servants. Although Vandy was difficult, he could not bear the thought that his son might develop odd traces of a cool Scandinavian or warm Spanish accent if former nannies were allowed to raise VanJones and teach him English.
"Occupy, occupy" was all Vandy could think. Occupy the Van.

*Tower of Strength
Lyrics by Rudimentary Peni Tower of strength takes to the sea / Scours ocean via quay / Same old story, muscle bound and gory. / Brand new story, death without glory. / Infinite story so new, so hoary. Build a tower of strength and watch it weaken. / Construct high hopes as the brightest beacon. / Watch the seagulls eat the trash / You contemptuosly ditch. Do you know a seagull? / Do you know a wreck? / Are you tired of the tide? / Are you tired of the tide? / Roll in a rock pool, come let's hide. / Do you know a raging wind? / Do you know a seagull? / Do you know a wreck? / Do you know a raging wind? / Are you tired of the tide? / Are you tired of the tide? / Roll in a rock pool, come let's hide. / Tower of strength takes to the sea, oh, oh, oh.
