If only neighboring Hollywood nightclubs had a way for young invading European settler colonialists to express themselves in appreciation of their musical traditions, perhaps a distinctive dance style to the beat of relentless drums with howls and yelps, cheers and applause.
But a tribal war dance full of fists and fury with wild gyrations of the body, swinging limbs recklessly at nonparticipants, or coagulate into a swirling mass of humanity in a "circle pit" to the grating guitars, excruciating vocalizations, and amplified rhythm section of rebels without a cause, ne'er-do-wells, and malcontents. Perhaps, in time, such an outlet will form in and around Tinsel Town, USA, as bands seek to win the attention of corporate music industry types.
It's time to don the Vans and get ready to slam. The Warped Tour is here! Vans Warped Tour Long Beach | July 25-26, 2026. The two-day extreme sports and music festival is back from the grave on the LA border town with the OC, Long Beach, what Snoop Dogg introduced the world to calling it, "The LBC." But T.S.O.L. and others were calling it home long before that. It's a big town. With stops in Mexico, Montreal (Canada), and Washington, D.C., and Orlando (Florida), it seems the tour is being cut short. We bet our very own Dukkha Girl will be running into a certain Punk Rock Girl there, as she vamps and acts out her attention whure aesthetic like she did when we last saw her at the private KROQSocial Distortion show. What a poseur, model, and music influencer she's turned out not to be. Right, Erin? We know what Wisdom Quarterly fans are probably asking, How do I get my band on this tour? Here's how: Ernie Ball Vans Warped Tour Battle of the Bands Powered by Guitar Center

I blended the footage with digital audio from their album and made this fan video from live footage of the band as well as post-gig footage at Oki Dog in Hollywood, Los Angeles, all shot by Dave Markey.
Dave Markey of We Got Power Films, drummer of Sin 34, was very ambitious and always carried a movie camera and film with him back then. And from the footage he shot, he made some short films and the punkumentary The SLOG Movie, featuring a number of SoCal bands including Sin 34.
This video was put together by me uses his footage, which he shot for the Slog Movie. #WastedYouth #ProblemChild #DavidMarkey #DaveMarkey #WeGotPowerFilms #punk #PunkRock #SoCalPunk #AtomicVideoJukebox #DJAtomic #djatomiclv #djatomic702

For anyone who thinks Charlie Hill’s opening comments about the Iroquois Confederacy helping shape American democracy are inaccurate, here are a few reputable historical sources that explain the real connections between the "Haudenosaunee system" and early American political thought and is spelled out in the new documentary series by Ken Burn "American Revolution.”

Imagine a privileged life so tragic there's nothing left to do but attend big alt rock festivals, dance to EDM, and get blitzed with friends doing nothing with their lives but going to school and working for The Man. This is the American dream? This is the "pursuit of happiness"? And shows are so expensive now, post-plandemic, that one is reduced to trying to win tickets by listening to commercial radio. What a bummer. I mean, woo-hoo! I feel lucky! I'm going to call in and be the "correct" caller, just me and no one else.
This week KROQ FM, LA's second-rate "alt" rock station, wanted to promote concerts for profit by offering listeners a "chance" to win a pair of passes for an upcoming music festival. Which? The promotion includes a choice of five fests:
For the On Air Contest: Festival Fever, listen to KROQ.com on weekdays starting at approximately 8:00 am (PT) on Monday, March 17, 2025, and ending at approximately 7:00 pm (PT) on Friday, March 21, 2025, for the cue to call. The "correct" caller at (800) 520-1067 (as announced by the on-air personality prior to the cue to call) will, upon verification of eligibility, receive the following prize based on when the call is place.
Winners on March 17, 2025, will receive two (2) GA passes to When We Were Young at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds on October 19, 2025. The “prize(s)” is valued at $850.00 and is courtesy of Live Nation.
Winners on March 18, 2025, will receive two (2) GA passes to Just Like Heaven at Brookside at the Rose Bowl on May 10, 2025. The “prize(s)” is valued at $452.00 and is courtesy of Goldenvoice.
The Man likes it when we dance.

Punk is bad, stupid, and scary. What are these jerks talking about?
The Decline of Western Civilization is a 1981 American documentary filmed through 1979 and 1980. The movie is about the Los Angeles punk rock scene and was directed by Penelope Spheeris.
In 1981, the LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department) Chief Daryl Gates wrote a letter demanding the film not be shown again in the city [1].
The film is the opening act of a trilogy by Spheeris, depicting music scenes in Los Angeles in the late 20th century.
The second film, The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years (1988), covers the Los Angeles heavy metal scene of 1987–1988.
The third film, The Decline of Western Civilization Part III (1998), chronicles the gutter punk lifestyle of homeless teenagers in the late 1990s. More

WARNING: Absolute filth, garbage, this should be illegal! This seems to be some band Tees OL, Tee Sol, singing some kind of, can't understand a word the fat blond man (political candidate, father, and author Jack Grisham) is saying about being in high school in the Southbay looking for love, but look at that crowd kept far from the stage for only $200 a ticket. ;)
Our dream has finally come true. See, I told you if we kept praying and spiking our hair.

Oh, hells yeah, I'll be there wearing a sexy outfit!
The Warped Tour is back at the Pomona Fairplex -- only now it's the once in a lifetime "NO VALUES" concert (so named after an old Black Flag song).
It's a Goldenvoice production (Coachella, Stagecoach, etc.), conveniently located in Los Angeles County, out by the fairgrounds, right next to Orange County, just off of the largest freeway in the country (the Interstate 10). It close enough for everyone in the IE and San Berdoo, too. The rest of the world is out of luck.
Decline of Western Civilization, 1
Imagine a show so big that it reunites the original Misfits (not just Danzig), Social Distortion. Iggy Pop (he's still among the living?), Bad Religion, Sublime [no Rome], FEAR [w/ Lee Ving], The Dillinger Escape Plan, Power Trip, The Damned, Suicidal Tendencies, The Vandals, Black Flag, L7, TSOL, [what no Germs or Circle Jerks?], Steve Ignorant of Crass, The Jesus Lizard, The Exploited, The Dead Milkmen, The Adicts, Agent Orange, Adolescents, Cro-Mags...
Hillbillies can't play piano! Where would they practice, the trailer park?
Nu-metal gets carried away with mega-fest in Vegas heat: SOAD, Korn...
Not just punk but ska and other genres, too. The lineup continues with Fishbone, The Aquabats, The Selecter, The Untouchables, The Skeletones, [what, no Save Ferris?], Ceremony, Fidlar, Hepcat, Joyce Manor, MS Paint, Scowl, Shattered Faith, Soul Glo, The Bronx, The Dead, The Lawrence Arms, The Mourning Noise, Turnstile, Viagra Boys [or is that the Cialis Girls?], and a bunch of other vital bands from way back when.

Anyone who thought going to Las Vegas to see the Sick New World Fest has got to think this is probably a good idea, too. It's bound not to have all the technical issues that event suffered from. And best of all the Dead Kennedy's original singer, Jello Biafra, will have a DJ set [of all Alternative Tentacles bands?] So expect some snark but precious little "California Uber Alles." It's not cheap, so plan ahead. More
The name of the show, we would guess, comes from an old Black Flag song:
