Maha Sambodhi Dharma Sangha Guru (maitriya.info/en); Dhr. Seven (ed.), Wisdom Quarterly

A major press conference was organized by the Nepali sangha (spiritual community). Bodhi Shrawan Dharma Sangha [the "Enlightenment Wandering-Ascetic Teaching Community"] held it at the Kathmandu press club on July 4, 2019 to deliver an unprecedented and joyful message to all peoples of Nepal and the entire world, disciples, sangha-members, devotees, followers, Dharma-lovers, and Truth-seekers:

It all began in private for a 7-year meditation
As of June 16, 2019 the most revered guru-jii, Maha Sambodhi Dharma Sangha ("Buddha Boy"), has once again entered maha-dhyana ("great meditative-absorption") or "supreme meditation" in the dharma forest of Sindhuli for three years.

During this time, major pujas (devotional ceremonies) and training programs will be conducted by the Sanyasi and Maatma Guru Marga gurus ["Great Truth Path teachers"].

Meditators gather to see Buddha Boy (FB)
Through this media conference, we wish to appeal to the government of Nepal for basic support and for maintenance of peace and protection of this sacred Dharma Land of Nepal to ensure the success of this arduous, glorious undertaking.

We are all praying for the joyful completion of Maha Sambodhi Dharma Sangha Gurujii's unique three-year Maha-dhyana Supreme Meditation.

We hereby share our maitri-filled wishes for all living beings of the universe, the entire Plant Kingdom, and all existence to absorb new inner-wisdom, punya karmafruits, and boundless gains of mukti-moksha liberation for all.

Four dead on Mt. Everest, Nepal (photos)

Sherpa Tenzing Norgay and British Sir Edmund Hillary were first to summit in 1953.
  • A Nepalese  mountain Sherpa, a Dutch man, an Australian woman, and an Indian man are among the deaths
  • Two Indian climbers are missing, expedition organizers said
everest clean up 2010Avalanches killed 35 climbers on Mount Everest in the past two years -- including 16 in one devastating day in 2014. At least one person has died climbing the mountain in Nepal every year since 1900.

And now the 2016 climbing season has claimed its first victims.

Since last Thursday four people have died on the 29,035-foot peak, including a Sherpa. Rescue efforts are ongoing for two other missing climbers.

"Everest is a mountain of extremes," said Jon Kedrowski, a geographer and climber who summited Mount Everest in 2012, when 10 climbers died. "At altitude, the body deteriorates on a certain level.

The recent deaths -- coming so quickly on the heels of one another -- have rattled climbers who are beginning their descent as the Everest climbing season nears its end. April and May are the most common months to attempt a climb because there tends to be less wind. Regardless, the climate on the mountain is brutal. Temperatures range from -31 to -4 Fahrenheit.

everest malavath poom 2014 - RESTRICTEDApril was the first month of climbing since all ascent was halted after the catastrophic earthquake that struck Nepal in 2015 and a deadly avalanche that killed 16 Sherpas in one day in 2014. More than 200 climbers have died since Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary made the first official ascent in 1953.

And yet the hopefuls keep coming. More than 400 people have attempted the Everest climb this season, including 288 foreigners and more than 100 Sherpas and guides, said Sudarshan Dhakal, director of the Nepal Tourism Department. That's more than the average for previous seasons, he said.

Buddhist monks on the fashion runway, NY?

Associated Press (ap.org, 9-14-15); CC Liu, Seth Auberon, Ashley Wells, Wisdom Quarterly
Vajrayana Buddhist monks perform before the Prabal Gurung Spring 2016 collection is modeled during Fashion Week, Sunday, September 13, 2015 in New York, New York, USA (AP).

But I'm still the "Miss World," Beauty Queen of the Universe, right? They're just monks.

Ah, what the hell are they doing on stage!!?
Prabal Gurung brings Buddhist monks onto his fashion runway.

NEW YORK, USA - It was an incongruous sight, even for New York Fashion Week, but a very moving one.

Living by the patimokkha (ATI)
With a who's who of A-list Hollywood actresses in the front row, Prabal Gurung opened his runway show with 30 Buddhist monks.

They had traveled to New York to chant a prayer of gratitude for the world's help during the devastating earthquake that killed thousands in Gurung's native Nepal in April.

Monks in sexy fashion show?
Vajrayana Buddhism (Tibet, Bhutan, Russia, Nepal...) loves the future Buddha Maitreya.
Wait. What's happening here? We've been bumped for those guys in robes?

"When the earthquake happened [in Nepal, Tibet, and China], the first people that came to our rescue in Nepal was the fashion industry here, and I wanted to show some kind of gratitude to them," Gurung said after Sunday evening's show.

Robes or dresses? Both can be nice.
"I go and visit the monastery (in Nepal) all the time, and I had this idea, and they wanted to do it."

The entire runway show was dedicated to Nepal, with garments in shades of lemon, saffron, peach, tea rose, and other variations of orange and yellow. There was barely a dark color in the mix.
.
I may be a Bag of Bones full of urine, blood, fecal matter, sweat, and stuff, but I'm hot!
.
My body's full of excrement.
Especially effective were lovely white dresses embroidered in orange and yellow, and filmy chiffon evening gowns that floated down the runway. There was also some fringe and sparkle in the mix.

Gurung had a lot of celebrity support: His front row included actresses Jennifer Hudson, Hailee Steinfeld, Laverne Cox from "Orange is the New Black," Kylie Jenner, and Solange Knowles. Cox was wearing a bright blue Gurung creation. "I've just started working with Prabal," she said. "It's pretty cool. All of a sudden I am here, wearing his stuff at his show."

I'd rather be pretty than smart or a feminist or anything like that. I'm Miss USA!

Gurung said he hoped the world would learn a little bit about Nepal. "All I wanted to do is show a little of where I'm from," he said, "and show it to the rest if the world. I hope they'll be enticed to go visit, because that's what Nepal needs right now."
