Pat Price: The CIA’s psychic spy during the Cold War | The Alaska Triangle
(Quest TV) Nov. 22, 2022: ALASKA During the Cold War, the USA believed that the Soviets (USSR now Russia) had psychic spies who were remotely gathering intel on them, so the Americans recruited their own spies.

[They then created a viable psychic spying program called Stargate that produced a great deal of valuable knowledge. It was continued for a long time before going secret, getting expanded, and becoming a "black budget" program still in use but plausibly denied].

While one of their best psychics -- operative Patrick Price, a former Burbank police officer with great skill in this process of astral project -- was working, he was psychically attracted to a different location, a secret US military base housing humanoid space aliens underneath an Alaskan mountain in the Alaska Triangle called Mt. Hayes. From Season 1, Episode 1 🇬🇧 Catch full episodes of favorite Quest shows on discovery+: bit.ly/3AA4cP4

Why do we go to raves? (Charlotte de Witte)

(Charlotte de Witte) Charlotte de Witte, spring at Ultra 2023 (main stage), would probably answer, "Why ask why? Get out of your heads and [into your bodies] dance." It's true. What is time? What is reason? What is "why"?

Ah, those were the days, my friend.
In the future, music won't be so much about art as pumping that jam, moving with a beat, tripping on drugs that cause one to move, giving an experience like being at a Phish or Dead concert, a happening, more than a show for entertainment. (The future is now). Community will matter a great deal, even if one knows nobody and is known by nobody. When everyone is high, what does it matter? Illusion and perception become more important than reality and consensus. Dance, Monkey, dance! DJ, press the button on your laptop and get this party going!

Poetry by Charles Harmon "Beat It"

When you're burning on the inside...
American Buddhist Jack Kerouac is recognized for his style, which is stream of consciousness called "spontaneous prose."

Thematically, his work covers topics such as Buddhism, promiscuity, his Catholic spirituality, drugs, jazz, travel, life in NYC, and poverty.

He became an underground celebrity and, with other Beat Poets, a progenitor (precursor) of the hippie movement...

He greatly influenced many 1960s cultural icons, including the Beatles, the Doors, Bob Dylan, and the founder of the Grateful Dead Jerry Garcia. More

BEAT IT
By Charles Harmon (edited by Seven)
Allen Ginsberg with Jack Kerouac
Cruising Hollywood, 1959,
family wagon, parents at the
wheel, little sisters gawking at

Grauman's and the imprints of idols,
feet, hands, endearments

etched in concrete, Walk of Fame,
pointing at the stars set in the sidewalk
between tourist toes and heels

"Look, a Beatnik!" mom directs us
toward a man who sits on the curb,
his sandaled feet dangling in the gutter,

dressed in a dark turtleneck and smart
black beret, whacking a bongo,
singing, billowing smoke

as a young woman sits next to him
with an arm around his waist, cigaretting

smoldering on his lipstick stained cheek,
as tourists drop coins in a cup

"What's a Beatnik?" I ask, but a man
without options, who looks cool doing
nothing

"They like poetry," Mom explains, "and
music, don't care too much about money,
seeking enlightenment or come what may"

Wow, I think, a man after my own heart,
as I'd already memorized dozens of poems

in school and liked to sing, a choirboy
with a radio and TV, eager to learn

the way to enlightenment, something I
read in the World Book of all the Buddha
knew, understanding stated in haiku

like a novel on James Bond in the 6th
grade, when 007 visits a faraway land

to extract useful information from the
Japanese Secret Service, offering

some spy service in return, but JSS
Head Tiger Tanaka teaches 007 how
to compose haiku instead

You only live twice
once when born and once when you
finally face death

A spy evades capture, and a ten-year-old
is blown away, one avoids execution

the other asks his mom, Is Death here yet?
There is reality and there is fate

and are they not the same? Knowing
that we all know Death, who is yet to

come, I resolved to live, to do something
to make life amount to more than
not yet dying

So I did, I understood what the Buddha
must have meant, only etching out haiku

much later on a cube of rice paper, square
and the size of a cigarette with twisted ends,

discovering Kerouac Jack, who presented it
to an audience American, altering the rules,
setting it free

On the Road, The Dharma Bums, and
artful lines in 5-7-5 or not

all to kindle a sense of the adventure, an
excursion with and without signs

do not enter here
do not look behind
enter over there

Did it rhyme? Did I trek with Scouts
arm myself with the Sierra Club

get away with friends until my 16th
summer on the planet, hitching my sole

and the other on a hike to NorCal to visit
Berkeley and Stanford and grandparents in the Bay,
listening to the Jefferson Airplane and Grace

steering clear of the scene psychedelic, blazing
on a natural high and the books at City Lights

and a man named Ferlinghetti
who gave me a Little Red Book by Mao

a souvenir of what might have been had I
been a Beat, had I penned as artfully as
the JuBu Ginsberg and other rows at City Lights

Rodolfo Ybarra: On the Beat Generation and Bob Kaufman

Snyder, Everson, Rexroth, Jeffers, Welch, McClure
many of whom I met at their readings, discovering

former Zen monastic Leonard Cohen who sat atop
Mount Baldy overlooking L.A., searching for Truth

in nature, peace, love, spirituality, seeking
the mystical in the ordinary, while I climbed mountains

in the vast out of doors, seeking it in science at the UC
with Fritjof Capra's Tao of Physics, exploring the
parallels of East and West on a quest for Truth

'Northern' lights visible around world

Solar storm brings northern lights south
(5NEWS) May 11, 2024: Astrophysicist Nour Rawafi says this is the biggest geomagnetic storm in more than 20 years.

How dare you question Science, Eric.
Debunking the science explanation for the cause of the Aurora borealis, which was already brought into question when seen on the wrong side of the globe planet (since the excuse of an explanation for such northern lights is that the sun above us (Surya, Sol) is shooting plasma (cluster of high energy particles) that hits the Arctic Circle above the magnetic North Pole.

Plasma wouldn't skip the center and somehow back up to hit the Antarctic above a South Pole.

When other models of the world we live in are looked at -- ancient Buddhist cosmology, which aligns more or less with Hindu and Jain views and is not so different from Christian (biblical), Norse, Jewish, and Muslim views, all of which controvert science. We hope science is true, we hope the other views are "creation myths" and "origin story storytelling."

High above Los Angeles on Mt. Wilson
But Zetetic science -- the testable, demonstrable, reproducible results, ground up, just the observable facts not theory chasing -- says otherwise.

Now, tonight, people everywhere can see that we have been deceived by NASA ("never a straight answer") and other allied agencies not daring to contradict what the world power says.

What is this ancient map of Earth showing?
See the daring maverick Eric Dubay (ericdubay.com), Samuel Rowbotham, and John Lear's revelations going against the stream of propaganda and official narrative to cause a movement of questioning, checking the facts, and debunking the lies we have been fed for decades.

Northern lights LIVE: Auroras illuminate night sky in Canada, USA | Solar Storm News
(CNBC-TV) Started streaming 5/12/24: CANADA. There are northern lights over Minnesota as a strong solar storm is hitting Earth, producing them in many areas across the USA.

A series of solar flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs) have created dazzling auroras that may be seen as far south as Alabama and Northern California but could also disrupt communications on Earth tonight and over the weekend.

Scientists are warning an increase in solar flares and coronal mass ejections from the sun have the potential to disrupt communication on Earth into the weekend.

Solar flares can affect communications and GPS almost immediately because they disrupt Earth’s ionosphere, part of the upper atmosphere.

Energetic particles released by the sun can also disrupt electronics on spacecraft and affect astronauts without proper protection within 20 minutes to several hours.

An unusually strong solar storm hitting Earth could produce northern lights in the U.S. this weekend and potentially disrupt power and communications. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) issued a rare severe geomagnetic storm warning when a solar outburst reached Earth on Friday afternoon, hours sooner than anticipated.

The effects were due to last through the weekend and possibly into next week. The storm could produce northern lights as far south in the U.S. as Alabama and Northern California, according to NOAA.

But it was hard to predict, and experts stressed it would not be the dramatic curtains of color normally associated with the northern lights, but more like splashes of greenish hues.

Solar storm: Northern Lights over USA?

Don't expect this. Expect this (below). And if in Los Angeles, don't expect anything even smog-free

Is it Mercury retrograde time again? It might be. Communications are bound to be disrupted by high energy particles slamming into the planet and hitting so many of Elon Musks low-flying (possibly aloft by balloon) "satellites" hovering above in low earth orbit, far from space, just in our common sky, absorbing mass coronal ejections.

Northern lights visible across U.S., even reaching the Deep South, due to solar storm
(NBC News) May 11, 2024: Dazzling colors lit up the night sky over the United States as the aurora borealis was visible as far south as Florida and possibly even Hawaii. Give us SPORTS! Who needs Dharma?

Wait, what is the Dharma again? It is the Buddha's Teaching about what is real and unreal and how to become enlightened to see all things as they truly are, to awaken to the utmost reality. The dharma refers to timeless Truths that govern our lives if we fail to pay attention or remain distracted until it's too late to make any progress in calm or insight.

Hey, everyone, look at me!
I'm the hottest! Have you seen my boyfriend Kelce?! He's the best! I've always been beautiful, the most! It just comes natural...well, not always, Britney busted me with the evidence. She posted it without asking, when I was a hog-dog or like a fat tabby cat with wet hair. I'dunno, I'm hot now, so who cares? Haters, suck it!! Taylor Swift unrecognizable in backstage throwback photo shared by Britney Spears

HAARP? Hurricanes, Mexican quake (video)

Emily Green (The World); Pfc. Sandoval, Pat Macpherson, Crystal Quintero, Wisdom Quarterly
Mexican President Pena Nieto calls for three days of mourning for victims of quake.

O, my Mexico, pobrecito!
Mexico's deadly earthquake was its strongest in 100 years.

Across Mexico, people felt Thursday night's devastating earthquake in different ways.

In Mexico City, Avidan Lebenthal said his apartment building was “banging” on the building next door. He grabbed his passport and ran outside. Anne Sørensen said she got out of bed when she felt the trembles, only to fall over because the floor was shaking so hard.

Mexico is amazing and full of surprises.
Tania Miranda, also in the capital city, said it was an “apocalyptic experience.” That’s because in addition to the strong shaking, she saw green lights in the sky following the tremors. Other people also reported seeing the lights.

Explanations for what caused them vary from electromagnetic charges to something involving power plants and electrical cables. [No one in the mainstream media will speculate about the possibility of HAARP having anything to do with weather manipulation or strange electrical anomalies such as mysterious lights].
Damaged wall, smashed vehicle pictured after earthquake, 9/8/17 (Carlos Jasso/Reuters).
.
And Lee Burnette, in Huatulco, Oaxaca [pronounced WAH-hah-kah] -- one of the areas that experienced the brunt of the damage -- said he was walking home when the earthquake hit.

For more than a minute, he said a nearby hotel and radio tower swayed, glass shattered and road signs shook. He arrived home to find his mirrors, vases, and glasses had fallen and broken. The toilets were cracked and off their bases. Every couple of hours since the earthquake, he has felt strong aftershocks.

Just when the country was bracing for Hurricane Katia, and as other megastorms were charging across the Caribbean, Mexico was struck by one of its most powerful earthquakes on record.
Alguien pidio por los muertos?
The Mexican government said the earthquake, which it registered at magnitude of 8.2, was the strongest in the country in a century.

National news outlets reported the death toll rising above 60 by Friday afternoon, including one fatality in Guatemala, and 200 were injured.

The US Geological Survey put the earthquake at 8.1. [That doesn't sound very different. But the way seismometers are gauged a one point change makes it exponentially stronger.]

The hardest-hit spots in Mexico were in the country’s southern area, near the Guatemalan border. Officials in the states of Oaxaca, Chiapas, and Tabasco have all reported widespread damage.

As many as 45 people were reported dead in Oaxaca, many of them in the Pacific coast town of Juchitán. Part of the town's City Hall collapsed, while some houses were reduced to rubble.

What are they doing with HAARP machines?
In Tabasco, at least two children were among the fatal victims, including one who died in a hospital when his ventilator shut off because the building lost power.

At least three deaths were also reported in the town of San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas.

Various government agencies have issued advisories seeking help for the three states. Among the needs are bottled water, food, toilet paper, soap, and disposable utensils. Eleven states across the country closed schools to prepare for aftershocks and also help people get on their feet. There were almost 400 aftershocks, by Friday afternoon, according to El Universal newspaper.

Mexico City appeared to fare amazingly well [because it was centered out in the ocean where HAARP waves are being directed to generate or "steer" a hurricane], especially compared to the 8.1 magnitude earthquake here in 1985, which caused massive devastation and thousands of deaths.

Ancient Chinese earthquake detector
Throughout much of Mexico City, life appeared to continue unabated in the morning, with little evidence of the quake the night before.

But the experience left emotional scars. Alicia Vera had just fallen asleep when she heard Mexico City’s seismic alarm go off. But she doubted whether an quake was really on the way because a false alarm had gone off earlier in the week.

When she saw her curtains swaying, she grabbed her shoes and her dog, and ran out into the middle of the street.

It was a scary experience, she said, made worse by the fact that she is from Miami, which is bracing for massive damage from [super-storm] Hurricane Irma.

“I’m already on edge,” Vera said.

Lee Burnette shot the following video during the earthquake in Huatulco, Oaxaca, Mexico.

Science: Pain has an "off switch"?

Amber Larson, Seth Auberon, Wisdom Quarterly; Daily Mail via NZHerald.co.nz,
File photo / Thinkstock
Pain (dukkha, dukkhata), miserable pain! It's not all in my head! "Has an 'off switch' for pain been discovered?" (Thinkstock/nzherald.co.nz)

Painful PAIN facts!
Scientists say they have found a new way to "switch off" pain, and it could lead to the development of non-addictive drugs for millions of patients suffering chronic discomfort.

Researchers managed to block a pain pathway in rodents with chronic neuropathic pain, which develops due to nerve damage.

They did this by switching on a receptor, known as A3, in a rat's brain and spinal cord to counteract intense feelings of discomfort.

Dope-drugs aren't' the answer either!
Current treatments for pain are problematic because they cause intolerable side effects, diminish quality of life and do not sufficiently quell pain, the scientists say.

But their new method could avoid nasty side effects from current pain relief drugs, such as addiction or increasing tolerance, meaning that people need to take higher and stronger doses of medication.

Scientists at Saint Louis University in Missouri, discovered that activating the A3 receptor in rodents -- using a native chemical stimulator called adenosine, or synthetic drugs -- prevents or reverses pain caused by nerve damage without side effects.

Their study is published in the medical journal, Brain.

Enter an unbelievable Cure!
Daniela Salvemini, professor of pharmacological and physiological sciences at the university, demonstrated the ability of the A3 adenosine receptor to mediate pain relieving effects of the chemical adenosine.

"It has long been appreciated that harnessing the potent pain-killing effects of adenosine could provide a breakthrough step towards an effective treatment for chronic pain," she said.

Not sex nor food!
"Our findings suggest that this goal may be achieved by focusing future work on the A3AR pathway, in particular, as its activation provides robust pain reduction across several types of pain."

The chemical is already being investigated by experts as anti-inflammatory and anticancer agent. More - Daily Mail

What is "pain" in Buddhism?
Ven. Nyanatiloka (palikanon.com); Dhr. Seven (ed.), Wisdom Quarterly
The Fat Happy Bodhisattva Ven. Budai or Hotei is not the Buddha, but he is happy.
.
There are two kinds of "pain" Sanskrit and Pali dukkha) in Buddhism, one being physical and the other psychological. They are very similar, only the psychological is much worse and much longer lasting.

There is distress and disappointment arising from "painful feeling" or unpleasant sensation (vedanā), which may be bodily and mental.

There is also "suffering," "we," "ill." As the first of the Four Noble Truths (sacca) and the second of the Three Characteristics of Existence (ti-lakkhana), the term dukkha is not limited to painful physical experience), but refers to the unsatisfactory and disappointing nature and the general insecurity of all conditioned phenomena

Pain in the neck or lower?
All things in general -- but particularly the Five Aggregates of Clinging -- are marred by suffering, that is, by being off kilter, unreliable, liable to fall away, empty/impersonal, offering no lasting comfort, no actual satisfaction.

On account of the universal characteristic of change or impermanence, all phenomena are liable to suffering. Paradoxically, this also includes pleasurable experiences and sensations, particularly when we cling to them and yearn for them not to be impermanent.

Hence "unsatisfactoriness," "disappointment," or "liability to suffering" would be more adequate translations of the technical and multi-valent term dukkha. Often misunderstood, the first noble truth does not deny the existence of pleasurable sensations and happy experiences, as is sometimes wrongly assumed. This is illustrated by the following texts:

[The Buddha:] "Seeking satisfaction in the world, meditators, I had pursued my way. Satisfaction in the world I found. Insofar as satisfaction exists in the world, I have well perceived it by wisdom.

"Seeking for misery in the world, meditators, I had pursued my way. Misery in the world I found. Insofar as misery exists in the world, I have well perceived it by wisdom.

Cool! Pleasure, pain, escape (Gustavo Turner)
"Seeking for the escape from the world [with all its suffering], meditators, I had pursued my way. Escape from the world I found. Insofar as an escape from the world exists, I have well perceived it by wisdom" (A.iii.105).

"If there were no satisfaction to be found in the world, living beings would not be attached to the world....If there were no misery to be found in the world, living beings would not be repelled by the world....If there were no escape from the world, living beings could not escape therefrom" (A.iii.106).

But understanding suffering, its origin and cessation is an ennobling endeavor. That is, it leads to enlightenment, the state of the "noble" ones (aryas), whereas avoiding it only leads to more of the same.

See dukkhatā for abstract concept of "pain." For texts on the truth of suffering, see  The Word of the Buddha  and  Path to Deliverance by the Western Buddhist monk Ven. Nyanatiloka (BPS.lk). See also The Three Basic Facts of Existence, II: Suffering (Wheel No. 191/193).
