Half Dome is a quartz batholith at the eastern end of the valley in Yosemite National Park. It is a well-known rock formation in the park, named for its distinct shape. One side is a sheer face while the other three sides are smooth and round, making it appear like a dome cut in half. It stands at over 8,800 feet above sea level and is composed of quartz monzonite, an igneous rock that solidified several thousand feet within the Earth. At its core are the remains of a magma chamber that cooled slowly and crystallized beneath the Earth's surface. The solidified magma chamber was then exposed and cut in half by erosion, therefore leading to its geographic name [3]. More

Rollerballis a 1975 American [6] dystopian science-fiction sports film directed and produced by Norman Jewison [7], starring James Caan. The screenplay, written by William Harrison [8], adapted his own short story "Roller Ball Murder" [1], which had first appeared in the September 1973 issue of Esquire magazine [9]. Set in a "not too distant" future world ruled by a corporatocracy, the predictive film centers on the titular sport — an often-brutal spectacle used to placate the populace. Jonathan E. (played by Caan), the sport's top player, finds himself at odds with the ruling powers when his popularity threatens to hurt their grip on power. It co-stars John Houseman, Maud Adams, John Beck, Moses Gunn, and Ralph Richardson. More

KOREAN BUDDHISM began in the 4th century CE during the Three Kingdoms Period. Centuries after Buddhism originated in India, the Mahayana (Hinduism as Buddhism's "Great Vehicle") tradition arrived in China through the Silk Road in the 1st century CE, then entered the Korean peninsula in the 4th century, from where it was transmitted to Japan.
In Korea, it was adopted as the state religion of three constituent polities of the Three Kingdoms Period, first by the Goguryeo (Goryeo) in 372 CE, by the Silla (Gaya) in 528 CE, and by the Baekje in 552 C [1].
Korean Buddhism is distinguished from other forms of Buddhism by its attempt to resolve what its early practitioners saw as inconsistencies within the Mahayana Buddhist traditions that they received from foreign countries. More
Blame aging culture or youth music?
Cultural hegemony: Is white Western culture ruining the lives of South Koreans in the East?
.
OMG, we're not gay! We're K-pop boy idols.
K-pop (Korean μΌμ΄ν, RR Keipap, an abbreviation of "Korean popular music" [1]) is a form of popular music originating in South Korea [2]. The music genre that the term is used to refer to colloquially emerged in the 1990s as a form of youth subculture, with Korean musicians influenced by Western dance music, rap, hip-hop, R&B, and rock [3, 4, 5]. Today, K-pop commonly refers to the musical output of teen idol acts, chiefly all-girl groups and androgynous boy-bands, who emphasize visual appeal and performance [6] over substance and individual expression.
It's OK to be angry, but keep the hits coming.
They represent a corporate approach to profit making and an illusory bigger-than-life persona and emphasis on PR (public relations). As a music genre, K-pop is characterized by its melodic quality and cultural hybridity [7, 8, 9]. K-pop can trace its origins to "rap dance," a fusion of hip-hop, techno, and rock popularized by the group Seo Taiji and Boys, whose experimentation helped to modernize South Korea's contemporary music scene in the early 1990s [10, 11, 12]. Their popularity with teenagers led the music industry to start to focus on this demographic. More
(Wiki) The Gosford Glyphs, also known as Kariong Hieroglyphs, are a group of approximately 300 Egyptian-style hieroglyphs located in Kariong, Brisbane, Australia. They are found in an area known for its Aboriginal petroglyphs, between Gosford and Woy Woy, New South Wales, within the Brisbane Water National Park. Academics and authorities have tried to dismiss them as a hoax after their discovery in the 1970s, but there is no proof other than disbelief. These authorities are still attempting to prove the false belief that they were carved by ancient Egyptians about 4,500 years ago [1]. So far they have been unable to do so. But to think the ancient Egyptians made it not only to the Grand Canyon in the Southwest USA. More
