The sky's gone out: lunar eclipse (8/27)

Lunar eclipse 2026: LIVE view from across the world
What is the real cause of eclipses? Rahu

How dare Eric Dubay do science
Buddhist cosmology, astronomy, and mythology speaks of another celestial body in the region of our sky known as space (50 miles up and higher). This occult body does a better job of explaining eclipses than the Earth's shadow on the Moon, two bodies of the same size and nearby, circling (not orbiting) over the plane of the Earth as we look up. But it's all being covered up with CGI and the Never A Straight Answer U.S. spying agency, NASA. What we "see" with our own eyes is actually manipulated propaganda to conceal the truth rather than reveal the wonders of our cosmos. The body that occludes is called Rahu in the Dharmic religions. The Buddha inherited this from ancient India, but the great sages like Mahavira, Sri Shankara, and the rishis ("seers") agreed. How can anyone take this seriously nowadays at a time of universal lies when speaking truth is a dissident act of rebellion? NASA has much to answer for, as CIA pilot and whistleblower John Lear explained. It isn't that NASA lies about some things; rather everything it says about space is untrue. We are completely deceived.
So listening to persona non grata flatearther Eric Dubay makes sense. He has 200 proofs for what he claims. (The State of the World requires us to post this Rebuttals to Eric Dubay’s “200 Proofs Earth is not a Spinning Ball” – FlatEarth.ws in reactionary fashion). Would listening to both sides be reasonable? No! Ye shall attend only to official claims of a scientifical nature approved by gatekeepers at the University, priests on pulpits, paid mouthpieces on YouTube, and propagandists worldwide. Nothing else is accepted. Shield your ears and avert your gaze lest ye be contaminated by Dubay's rambling. We, however, are very interested in listening to him. He also has the audacity to condemn Israel, historical Israelites, review claims about Hitler, and is therefore banned, censored, condemned out of hand, and cannot possibly have anything to say that anyone should listen to and evaluate about anything at any time in any world, especially this one. Obey. Burn him at the stake like a witch.

Expat Yogi Eric Dubay in Buddhist Thailand
Who? EricDubay.com, who appears on Rumble.com and Bitchute.com and elsewhere where freedom of speech still has some purchase, plus all his books still available on Amazon. Another way to believe classical Indian astronomy is to redefine "Rahu" from celestial body to "lunar node," which is reasonable but preposterous, but at least it's defensible and acceptable to the powers that be. One good reason to doubt that the Moon causes solar eclipses is the position of the Moon before and after eclipse dates, usually nowhere near the place it will be at in the sky on the date. Sometimes in history it has even been visible going down or rising far from where it needs to be, but all such talk is verboten and you will be discredited.

The Sky's Gone Out is the third studio album by English gothic rock band Bauhaus, released in 1982 by record label Beggars Banquet. The album's production was markedly more difficult than the band's previous records, featuring conflict between the band members and with their record label. Critical reception was also more muted than for their previous classic works, though the album has been more warmly reevaluated over time and held up as a masterpiece. More

    Japan's Hidden Christians going extinct

The distorted corruption of Imperial Christianity
Driven Underground Years Ago, Japan's 'Hidden Christians' Maintain Faith | NCPR News

    Bodhisattva Kannon/Virgin Mary?
IKITSUKI, Japan (AP) — On a small island in rural Nagasaki, Japan’s Hidden Christians gather to worship what they call their "Closet God." ๐Ÿณ‍๐ŸŒˆ?

In a special room about the size of a tatami mat is a scroll painting of a kimono-clad Asian woman. She looks like a Buddhist Bodhisattva [Kwan Yin, Guanyin, Avalokita] holding a baby, but for the faithful, this is a concealed version of Mary and the baby Jesus.

Another scroll shows a man wearing a kimono covered with camellias, an allusion to [Saint] John the Baptist’s beheading and martyrdom.

    Japan’s Hidden Christians

There are other objects of worship from the days when Japan’s Christians had to hide from vicious persecution, including a ceramic bottle of holy water from Nakaenoshima, an island where Hidden Christians were killed ("martyred") in the 1620s.

Little about the icons in the tiny, easy-to-miss room can be linked directly to Christianity — and that’s the point.

After emerging from cloistered isolation in 1865, following more than 200 years of violent harassment by Japan’s insular warlord rulers, many of the formerly underground Christians converted to mainstream Catholicism.

Factionalism in Christianity started early - Japanese LGBTQIA+ model boy toy gets in the ring.

Some, however, continued to practice not the religion that 16th century foreign missionaries originally taught them, but the idiosyncratic, difficult to detect version they’d nurtured during centuries of clandestine cat-and-mouse with a brutal regime.

On Ikitsuki and other remote sections of Nagasaki prefecture, Hidden Christians still pray to these disguised objects. They still chant in a Latin that hasn’t been widely used in centuries. And they still cherish a religion that directly links them to a time of samurai, shoguns and martyred missionaries and believers.

Now, though, the Hidden Christians are dying out, and there is growing certainty that their unique version of Christianity will die with them. Almost all are now elderly, and as the young move away to cities or turn their backs on the faith, those remaining are desperate to preserve evidence of this offshoot of Christianity — and convey to the world what its loss will mean.

“At this point, I’m afraid we are going to be the last ones,” said Masatsugu Tanimoto, 68, one of the few who can still recite the Latin chants that his ancestors learned 400 years ago. “It is sad to see this tradition end with our generation.”

Hidden Christians cling to a unique version of the religion
Christianity spread rapidly in 16th century Japan when Jesuit priests had spectacular success converting warlords and peasants alike, most especially on the southern main island of Kyushu, where the foreigners established trading ports in Nagasaki. Hundreds of thousands, by some estimates, embraced the religion.

That changed after the shoguns began to see Christianity as a threat. The crackdown that followed in the early 17th century was fierce, with thousands killed and the remaining believers chased underground.

As Japan opened up to foreign influence, a dozen Hidden Christians clad in kimono cautiously declared their faith, and their remarkable perseverance, to a French Catholic priest in March 1865 in Nagasaki city.

Many became Catholics after Japan formally lifted the ban on Christianity in 1873.

But others chose to stay Kakure Kirishitan ("Hidden Christians"), continuing to practice what their ancestors preserved during their days underground.

Their rituals provide a direct link to a vanished Japan
    In Kyushu with Hidden Christians
In interviews with The Associated Press, Hidden Christians spoke of a deep communal bond stemming from a time when a lapse could doom a practitioner or their neighbors.

Hidden Christians were forced to hide all visible signs of their religion after the 1614 ban on Christianity and the expulsion of foreign missionaries. Households took turns hiding precious ritual objects and hosting the secret services that celebrated both faith and persistence.

This still happens today, with the observance of rituals unchanged since the 16th century.

The group leader in the Ikitsuki area is called Oji, which means father or elderly man in Japanese. Members take turns in the role, presiding over baptisms, funerals, and ceremonies for New Year, Christmas, and local festivals.

Different communities worship different icons and have different ways of performing the rituals.

In Sotome, for instance, people prayed to a statue of what they called Maria Kannon, a genderless Bodhisattva of Mercy [Goddess of Compassion, originally spoken of as a male deva who got culturally converted and made more and more feminine], as a substitute for Mary.

In Ibaragi, where about 18,000 residents embraced Christianity in the 1580s, a lacquer bowl with a cross painted on it, a statue of the crucified Christ and an ivory statue of Mary were found hidden in what was called “a box not to be opened.”

Their worship revolves around reverence for ancestors
Let's do Zen. - No, no, Christian jiriki is best!
Many Hidden Christians rejected Catholicism after the persecution ended because Catholic priests refused to recognize them as real Christians unless they agreed to be rebaptized and abandon the Buddhist altars that their ancestors used.

“They are very proud of what they and their ancestors have believed in” for hundreds of years, even at the risk of their lives, said Emi Mase-Hasegawa, a religion studies professor at J.F. Oberlin University in Tokyo.

Tanimoto believes his ancestors continued the Hidden Christian traditions because becoming Catholic meant rejecting the Buddhism and Shintoism that had become a strong part of their daily lives underground.

“I’m not a Christian,” Tanimoto said. Even though some of their Latin chants focus on the Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ, their prayers are also meant to “ask our ancestors to protect us, to protect our daily lives,” he said. “We are not doing this to worship Jesus or Mary.… Our responsibility is to faithfully carry on the way our ancestors had practiced.”

Archaic Latin chants are an important part of the religion
Hidden Christians’ ceremonies often include the recitation of Latin chants, called Orasho.

The Orasho comes from the original Latin or Portuguese prayers brought to Japan by 16th century missionaries.

Recently on Ikitsuki, three men performed a rare Orasho. All wore dark formal kimonos and solemnly made the sign of the cross in front of their faces before starting their prayers — a mix of archaic Japanese and Latin. More

    Convicted Trump gets sentenced

In the days of action cartoons, the hero always got caught up by the evil villains in such a way that there was no escape this time. But he always escaped. How, that was the question. We never saw that coming, the how. That he would escape, that was assured. How, that we never knew. Often the writers had to cheat physics or go back a little further to show the great escape. Judge Juan Merchan should throw the book at felon Trump, but he has promised no punishment, just ignominy, a little humiliation, a legacy of disgrace, sexual abuse, felonies all over the place, and Trump an unindicted co-conspirator in what his associates were up to on his behalf.

(The Majority Report w/ Sam Seder) Nov. 3, 2023: Palestinian journalist Ahmed Alnaouq (who lost 21 family members to Israeli bombs) spoke on "Good Morning Britain" and explained that he thinks that some media outlets are complicit in Israel's violence in Gaza.

Presenter Kate Garraway says that Israel's been very clear that their conflict is with the political party Hamas, not with Palestinians.

Alnaouq responds to Garraway by saying that 21 of his family members, some children, who've been killed are not members of Hamas.

    The Birth of Hip Hop
(Black History in Two Minutes or so) 11/6/20: In 1973, DJ Kool Herc set up his turntables and introduced a technique at a South Bronx house party that would change music as many people knew it. His ability to switch from record to record — as well as isolate and repeat music breaks — led to the discovery of the hip hop genre. From school yards to gatherings, boomboxes housed the exhilarating sound that people couldn’t get enough of. Soon, freestyling over the beat became popular, and we’d have one of the most noted songs of the genre released in 1979, entitled “Rapper’s Delight.” As the genre evolved, artists used their platform to speak on social issues near and far. These lyrics became the melody that told the narrative of the artist’s world to a beat.

Hosted by Henry Louis Gates Jr., with additional commentary from author Joan Morgan, Jelani Cobb of Columbia University, rapper Nas, and filmmaker Ava Duvernay, we celebrate an underground cultural movement that has unified people and has become the most streamed genre of present day.

When you become disillusioned with beautiful, vacuous dates, why not visit Ukraine's Buddhist past alive today?

Buddhists seek new home in E.O. Christian village
    AP Archive, Jan. 4, 2018
(Dec. 30, 2017) A small community of Buddhists are causing controversy among the residents of a tiny Ukrainian village where they have set up home. The Buddhists settled in the village after the war in eastern Ukraine forced them to leave their homes in Donetsk three years ago.

STORYLINE: This quiet, snowy road leads to the village of Krivopillya, deep in Ukraine's Carpathian mountains. The local community are Eastern Orthodox Christians, living a rural, conservative lifestyle. Unusually, a group of Buddhist monks have bought a house in the village, having fled the recent war in eastern Ukraine. As this is unorthodox in both senses, their arrival has caused a stir, with some locals even threatening to force them to leave.

"Everything that happened is connected with the Donbas and with war. Everything has started from there. I am from Donetsk, for example, and there we had the first Buddhist community in Ukraine, registered in Donetsk back in 1991. When war started, we just had to leave everything there," says Sergei Filonenko, a Buddhist monk.

The Buddhist community in Donetsk was established in 1991. They had their own temple and were starting to build a shrine in the city of Luhansk. But the war forced them to leave and seek shelter elsewhere. The monks thought that the Carpathian region, inhabited by Ukraine's Hutsul ethnic minority, would be an ideal place for meditation.

Their teacher, the Japanese monk Junsei Terasawa, gave them some money to establish a new house where Ukraine's Buddhists could pray and live. At first there were four of them, but now only Sergei Filonenko lives here permanently. Other worshipers visit Krivopillya during important Buddhist holidays.

"The Hutsuls are a little conservative society with deep Christian Orthodox traditions. But people everywhere are the same, they look at us to find out who we are. I hope that in time, they will understand what we are really doing here," says Filonenko.

Today, monks are visiting to celebrate one of the main holidays - the day of Buddha's enlightenment. Visiting Buddhists have travelled here from Dnipropetrovsk, Kiev, and Ivano-Frankovsk. They say they are hoping that the locals will come to accept that they have chosen the village as a legitimate place of worship.

"Locals do not understand us, because they think very superficially about things like faith. They do not perceive us well, because they think it is something totally different," says Buddhist Vasil Nastyuk.

The locals have mixed feelings about the new arrivals. For them, it is strange to hear the sound of chanting coming from the house at the edge of the village. Ivan Bondarik says some of the villagers were determined to drive the Buddhists away, but he is happy to have them because they are bringing more life to the village.

"Some were telling me, let's take weapons and kick them out of here. But I do not have the right to do so. They have bought the house, and I am even happy they have come here. Not many residents remain in the village. Before there were 12 houses, now only four," he says.

The Buddhists are hoping that, in time, the whole village may grow to accept their presence in these quiet snowy mountains.

Gov't wants your guns, uses kids to get them

Editors, Pfc. Sandoval, Seth Auberon, Wisdom Quarterly; US Propaganda Central (AP)
"Enough is enough": US students walk out over gun violence: They bowed their heads in honor of the dead. They carried signs with messages like "Never again" and "Am I next?" They railed against the National Rifle Association and the politicians who support it. More + PHOTOS
Murderer by Proxy: weapons dealer in front of his wares practices wrong livelihood
US students [being used as pawns] stage walkouts to protest gun violence against students
They're Dick's who want you to like 'em, corporate outlets on the side of police state gov't
    .
    How to start a pseudo-revolution
What does it mean to "manufacture consent," to get people to DEMAND the change you actually want? How do you sway opinion? What is propaganda for, and why is there a mainstream corporate media? Scholar Noam Chomsky wrote all about it. Create a crisis, or exploit one that is already happening. Persuade and get consent for what law or change you want enacted. The mainstream media will over focus on it to the exclusion of more pressing but inconvenient news (like the next CIA chief's history of torture as the deputy chief of the CIA).

David Icke saw this happening so much that he wrote a song about it. (Someone put his words to music: "Problem, Reaction, Solution"). Bill Cooper also explained this manipulation. It's called the "Hegelian Dialectic." What is it?

(David Icke) WHAT are they doing to us and WHY?

Foment a problem with a preset solution, and get what you want every time. Our students are spurred on by their teachers, the DNC, school principals, police departments who hate for anybody else to have guns, and even parents to do what the FBI, DHS, and other US clandestine agencies have not been able to do.

What have they not been able to do? They have not yet been able to outlaw all the types of weapons they want. One day citizens will not be able to oppose a police state or any draconian measures the government wants to deploy. This strategy is part 1984 and part Brave New World.

Students, ware are we not demonstrating for peace or protesting the endless US wars we provoke to fuel our permanent-war economy?

Look, everybody, we're "rebels" like Che with uniform t-shirts and everyone's approval!
    .
Who will complain about curtailed rights, freedoms, or pursuits when we all DEMANDED the government to take them away from us?

The disastrous Patriotic Act and NDAA (McCain, Lieberman, and Obama's Indefinite Detention or in Newspeak, the "National 'Defense' Authorization Act") following on the heels of 9-11 are great examples.

Bombing your own boat and blaming another country is a great (and legalistic) way of starting a war (e.g., the Spanish-American War, WW II, US War on Iraq, US War on Korea, US Ware on Afghanistan, US War on Yemen, US War on Somalia, and coming soon to a recruiting office near you, the US War on Iran and US War on North Korea) you want. If you were to attack first, that would be very illegal.

Noam Chomsky calls it "manufacturing consent." David Icke calls it a "Hegelian dialectic"
    .
Decades later when it is revealed to have been a false flag operation, something done "in the fog of war," something known about but allowed to happen (like Pearl Harbor), who really will be paying attention? What remedy will there be? Because of fear, people demand more soldiers, police, surveillance, prisons, laws, convictions, incarcerations...then wonder why we don't have as many civil liberties or other freedoms our forebears took for granted.

We claim it's all for "freedom" -- free trade, freedom freedom of speech but not too free, freedom from rights, "free" things we have to pay a high price for.

"Please make more things a crime, more  laws, more jails, more police, more security..."  PHOTOS: From somber to angry, school walkout protest vary in tenor (AP)
    .
Are these the high school radicals at work? Hades no! It's the young adults from the Leadership Club, future politicians, the nerds patting themselves on the back for doing something so courageous that no one's stopping them, so brave as acting in their own self interest.

Self interest? Not just ourselves, we're claiming it's to save the honor of those students already sacrificed in this set up by the people who plan these shooting then set up patsy, brainwashed fall-guys on SSRIs with parents mysteriously linked to a military, university, or other quasi-government agency. Ever hear of "MK-Ultra" Look it up, research it.

    .
Let's have more FEAR so we can have more school "safety" rules, regulations, metal detectors, barbwire fencing, random spot checks, pat downs, more cops on campus, and so we can arm the teachers and the coaches. And can we also do more lock down drills? Please! It'll make us feel safe. Together, everyone, let's chant:

    "What do we want?"

    "Police state!"

    "When do we want it?"

"NOW! Or very soon, before Trump gets us killed."

Hey, by the way, has anybody called NPR to make sure they're covering this for my Facebook timeline?
