It's a hit: "APT." Rose ft. Bruno Mars

Rosé poses with blonde curly hair, gazing at the camera for her solo album cover Rosie
.
Bruno Mars is a second-rate drummer but a darn good singer as he tries to outshine a phenom named Rose (New Zealander/South Korean of K-Pop supergroup Blackpink) in "APT." a mega hit that deserves a listen or is worthy of being put on rotation for constant replay. Step aside, Princess Olivia, and never mind, Consort Doja. Wow, Rose is a rocker with her brash pronunciations and catchy lyricism. It's like she swallowed Britney's spunk with a Shakira chaser.

Gay in the Deep South (video)

Straight Dave (Mr. "Bruno" Cohen); S. Auberon, CC Liu, Sheldon S. (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

"Straight Dave" (Sacha B. Cohen)
Anthropology is the study of humans, but we can't see ourselves unless we're looking at ourselves through the eyes of outsiders, in this case the British Sacha Baron Cohen. He made mincemeat out of America as "Borat," showing us up for all our follies and shortcomings.

Here "Bruno," as "Straight Dave," travels to the South for a good ol' fashion beat down in "Straight Dave's Man Slammin' Maxout." But the easily-duped, beer-swigging, Caucasian, Christian, WASPy, IQ-impaired, hyper-masculine fight fans will have none of it.

Maybe we should be more tolerant and less hateful/phobic? Or maybe the city folk "Cosmopolitans" should just wince at what the country neighbor cousins are doing to the image of the USA toward the LGBTQI community. Either way, it's very funny and all in jest, as Cohen explained on The Jonathan Ross Show in England.

UPDATE: the Female YouTube shooter

Editors, Wisdom Quarterly  UPDATE, April 4, 2018

I don't look like Eddie M. or Freddie M.
It seems everyone wants to be famous now. As the original TV "Wonder Woman" (Latin American superstar Lynda Carter) was finally getting her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, two other women were up in arms.
Little reported yesterday was the story of a female shooter who murdered a family man in Los Angeles. The reason is unknown, and the suspect escaped by car with many witnesses, who were kept against their will by police and interrogated. It all happened in front of a laundromat. Police have suggested that the man had "gang ties," so we surmise the female was sent to shoot him. In any case, he is dead, the kids have no father, the female killer is on the loose, and all of our attention is on San Bruno, California, south of SFO (San Francisco International Airport).

There a woman, Nas, 38 (a day short of her 39th birthday), disappeared from San Diego, where she lived supporting herself via YouTube's revenue sharing program. YouTube got what she thought it deserved for cheating her of money and fame with the corporation's new algorithm that tries to silence some voices while exalting others, to deprive some partners while enriching the preferred ones.

I'm jaded, negative Lauren Sivan reporting...
For instance, Nas has a very tame workout video (see it and others on KABC journalist's Lauren Sivan's twitter feed). It was flagged as being inappropriate for younger viewers when it is much tamer than Nicki Minaj's videos, which though inappropriate for children get hundreds of millions of views with no age restrictions. Who is trying to filter and censor Nas? Probably not the people she shot and shot at, but the company has been struck at its heart.

Eddie Munster and Mr. Woof-Woof
How did she get in? She drove up and went to an outdoor area where employs congregate. She began shooting. Then an older employee on an electric skateboard, responding to an evacuation notice "fire alarm drill," rode over and saw one man shot and another man, presumably also an employee, yelling, "Come at me, come on shoot me!" Nas was behind a pole, and the employee on the skateboard turned around, raced away, and warned other employees evacuating the building for the "fire drill" that there was an "active shooter!" turn around. They did, potentially saving many lives.

Real vegans kill neither animals nor humans
When the mother was asked for comment, she said Nas was a very kind person, citing her veganism and animal rights (anti-vivisection) activism in a lame attempt to refute her gun ownership, her anger issues, and the fact that she went to a gun range earlier to practice her aim.

That is a long spell of anger to drive up from San Diego, sleep in her car, be found and interviewed by police, who then called the family and told them not to worry because their 38-year-old daughter had been found in fine condition.

Freddie Mercury of Queen
The tight-knit family asserts that it warned police that Nas was mad at YouTube and should be watched. The police shrugged it off but miraculously claim they made it to YouTube HQ in two minutes, almost as if they had advance warning of a mass shooter somewhere in the area.

We ignore LA but focus on SF, where no one but the shooter died, which would be a story except it was by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. Perhaps her heart hurt from what she perceived had been done to her and, worse, what she had done in response. The baby went out with the bathwater, and she took a permanent solution to a temporary problem, very sad. It's a Sick Sad World just like Daria always suspected it was.

Learning PORN for college credit

CC Liu and Ashley Wells, Wisdom Quarterly, April 1st, 2013 UPDATED
Pornstar Jessica Drake adds excitement to Professor Hugo Schwyzer's gripping navigating Internet pornography class, 3-20-13 (James Carbone/pasadenastarnews.com).

Knuckle babies
Professor of history Hugo Schwyzer had a novel idea -- teach Internet porn to teens for college credit. Students have already been inundating themselves in homework, but now Pasadena Community College offers them a grade, academic credit and, one presumes, use of campus servers and serviettes (napkins).
  • Porn Professor Brings Adult Star to Campus (Lauren Gold): Adult film star and sex educator [trainee] Jessica Drake fielded questions from Pasadena City College students Wednesday [March 20, 2013] in Professor Hugo Schwyzer's "Navigating Pornography" class, which has attracted questions of its own in recent weeks from a wary administration. Look, I'm Ross! Beiber and his monkey (RO)
We spoke to someone who went to school with Prof. Schwyzer. While an undergrad at UC Berkeley and grad student at UCLA in history, Schwyzer was allegedly a closeted member of the LGBTQI community. Schwyzer was outed in a the UC Berkeley Housing Co-op newspaper while cheating on his Asian girlfriend, wrestling with his aspiration to become a Catholic priest, and trying to have sex with his beard/fiancee's friend and roommate, Erika Rydingsword. They lived in a residential coed co-op, Ridge House, on Holy Hill (UCB's collection of seminaries and churches adjacent to Ridge House and Ridge Project, aka Casa Zimbabwe) during the reign of Paige Wolverton, according to house manager Will Hall. "It was a different time back then [early 1990s], and Hugo was considered kind of a creepy hypocrite and ultra-religious glad-hander." Rydingsword told people Schwyzer would make her slap him, which he got off on masochistically, while guiltily recounting his Catholic frustrations and aberrant attractions.
"Feminist"? (la.indymedia.org)
"We are all sure he would grow up to become either a successful politician or a failed preacher as seen in 'Borat' (see "Bruno" below), get involved in some scandals, and retreat to the Hamptons to continue his infidelities." Did people mind that he was gay? "Bi. No, maybe the naive people who looked up to him. He really could have been a politician. Jefferson, Julia Thomas, Dave Anselmni, maybe they were surprised. Most of us minded that he was a hypocrite, a religious zealot. El, a transsexual, thought he was a feminist."

He must be much cooler now after graduating with a degree in history from a top flight school and landing a post at a top city college where he can teach people how to navigate porno on the Web. "[He] Must be."

Kevin Ryder, "Miss Double December," Ralph
Local CBS affiliate radio station, KROQ (106.7 FM), has been doing a running gag on the class and its teacher ever since co-host Ralph Garman (Kevin & Bean's morning zoo) caught wind of the course.

Tomorrow an entire bit is planned (available as a free podcast). Recently college administrators were alarmed that the class was being opened up to the public without Schwyzer filling out the proper paperwork. Sadly this may mean a closed course in the future as a parade of other show-and-tell presenters is invited in. (Should've never left college).

Bruno's Sexy Religious Conversion
WARNING: Very funny. Sexual themes and language. Frank discussion of Christian repairative ("gay conversion") therapy between "Bruno" (comedian Sacha Baron Cohen) and Pastor Quinn.
The real Shwyzer calls KROQ (April 3, 2013)
    Icky, grippy, sexy?
Sounding very professorial and only a little perverse, the real Schwyzer (rather than Ralph the professional impersonator) called Kevin & Bean, who made light of the course in their trademark sexist way during the final hour of the show. Most interesting in the short interview were the revelations that this is the second time the course is being taught, and the class has a gender ratio of 60:40, women to men, with no minors in attendance.
Sex with Teacher? The potential of the course just gets better and better, particularly if a student wants to be the apple (target) of a teacher's arrow (eros). According to Grace, Prof. Schwyzer is not above sexual misconduct if only "misconduct" were defined by school administrators as sex with four students being chaperoned by Schwyzer, which it is apparently not:

    Slutwalk, London (Garry Knight/CC)
"...A few weeks ago [Grace] wrote an article for Global Comment on the ongoing discussion in parts of the feminist blogosphere about Hugo Schwyzer, and more broadly on the place of people with a history of abuse in feminism and other activist movements. The short version of the controversy (from my article):

"Schwyzer, a professor of gender studies and male feminist personality….has written prolifically, and controversially, about recovering from sex and drug addictions, his now 13-year sobriety, and his "pre-sobriety" predatory behavior towards younger female students -- including, at one point, sleeping with four students on a class trip he was chaperoning.

    What?! (afternoonsnoozebutton.com)
"The current backlash against him, set in motion by yet another article recounting this troubling history, took on unprecedented intensity after the resurfacing of a post, originally written a year ago [which Schwyzer has now redacted to protect himself from legal consequences], in which Schwyzer admitted to nearly killing a former girlfriend in a drug-fueled* murder-suicide attempt.

"The subsequent outcry and campaign against Schwyzer has, for the first time, resulted in concrete consequences for him..." More

    Ali G interviews Noam Chomsky

Noam Chomsky (who's Jewish) is one of the foremost authorities and scholar willing to speak truth to the powers that be. Ali G (Sacha Baron Cohen, who's also Jewish) is also daring in confronting racism and all manner of hypocrisy.

Sarah Silverman (also Jewish), like most comedians, has the ability to point the finger in the right direction and mock what many quietly realize but are not allowed to voice.

    The "Right Wing Media"

The right wing media is 99% of the media we have, fails us. It is tightly controlled by many mechanisms. Programming and content is dictated from power centers. And if that means installing an Israeli as Homeland Security chief in America -- what (military-industrial) corporate power wants, it gets. And Americans largely remain asleep.
