Zen: ordering life Taoist way (Lao Tzu)

(Flowing Void) The simple path to put our life in order again | Taoist Wisdom

Zen Comics (Ioanna Salajan)
The root of Zen "Buddhism": Taoism is a philosophical and religious tradition indigenous to China, emphasizing harmony with the Tao 道, the way of non-interference, going with the flow.

With a range of meaning in Chinese philosophy, Tao has been translated as "way," "road," "path," "technique," generally understood as "natural," an enigmatic process of transformation underlying ultimate reality [2, 3].

Where Chinese came from: DNA evidence

Zen Comics (I. Salajan)
Taoist thought and tradition have informed the development of various practices like Zen, including forms of meditation (cultivation), astrology, qigong (moving chi), feng shui (arrangement of our environment), and internal alchemy [4].

A common goal of Taoist practice is self-cultivation, a deeper appreciation of the Tao (akin to the Vedic concept of Brahman, GOD, or Nature), and a more harmonious existence.

Taoist ethics generally emphasize virtues of effortless action (wu wei), naturalness (ziran), simplicity, and the three treasures of compassion, frugality, and humility. [It seems that most of what Western practitioners is Zen Buddhism is actually rooted in Taoism and Confucianism.] More
Chinese Buddhism is a blend of three traditions
The Yellow River Civilization (黃河文明 or Huanghe Valley Civilization): Hwan‐huou Civilization is an ancient [proto-] Chinese civilization that prospered in the middle and lower basin of the Yellow River [1]. Agriculture (particularly millet cultivation) was started in the flood plain of the Yellow River, and before long, through flood control and the irrigation of the Yellow River, cities were developed and political power found reinforcement. One of the "four major civilizations of the ancient world," it is often included in textbooks of East Asian history. But the idea of including only the Yellow River Civilization as one of the four biggest ancient civilizations has become outdated as a result of the discovery of other early cultures in China, such as the Yangtze and Liao civilizations. The area saw the Yangshao and Longshan cultures of the Neolithic era and developed into the bronze ware culture of the Shang and Zhou dynasties. More

Paul vs. Tyson is now available to watch globally on Netflix (if their servers can handle it this time because most subscribers were cheated out of seeing it live due to massive overload and failed response by Netflix to fix the problem of crashing servers. #ESPN

FINAL RESULT: Tyson loses to Paul by unanimous decision, no K.O.
Netflix, where are your tech personnel? Red alert! Transmission is down (giphy.com).
What's wrong with this TV, network, this paid Netflix service? Overload (mavink.com)

.
Is spectator racism a 'demon' at performances?
First of all, let's get one thing straight. "The Buddha" didn't fight anyone. The Bodhisattva did. Who's the Bodhisattva? He was the Buddha before he became the Buddha (e.g., Siddhartha before supreme enlightenment -- the same stream, a different time). Before he has become the "Awakened One," he is referred to as the Bodhisatta or the "Being bent-on-supreme-enlightenment"). He for aeons before his great awakening (maha-bodhi) wandered through endless rebirths (samsara) not seeing the ultimate truth of Dependent Origination like the rest of us are still doing.
The undercard has an all-female fight to proceed the big match, pulling women in to watch.
.
Fight the real power [a corrupt FBI agency*].
At the time, as the Bodhisatta striving for supreme enlightenment (samma-sam-bodhi), not ordinary enlightenment (bodhi), he was making foolish mistakes that would come back to haunt him, as ours do to us.

In one rebirth in particular, the Bodhisatta was a strong prizefighter, who would take to the ring and wrestle. He was a champion. In one match, he slammed an opponent down to the ground, injuring the fighter's back so severely that later, as the Buddha, he frequently suffered from excruciating back pain as a karmic consequence.

Bloody girl fight

A chicken fight? - We're cocks, sir.
The pain was so bad that would make him unable to continue teaching. He would often have Ven. Sariputra, one of his chief disciples "foremost in wisdom," take over, while the Buddha laid down and rested. The pain got so bad as he got older that he had to resort to entering states of samadhi (jhana, "meditative absorption") to make it tolerable or put the physical pain into abeyance.
  • The explanation for the ultimate source of the Buddha's back pain is given in the Jataka Tales ("Rebirth Stories") as the playing out of karma (the vipaka and phala) from when he was a boxer, wrestler, fighter in the ring.
  • Do you think maybe the big election has something to do with the big fight? We are all dying to see a Black person beat the stuffing out of a cocky (he does call himself El Gallo, which is Spanish for "The Cock" after all) white person. This makes Big Mike the "Great Black Hope." Do it for the loser Kamala, Mike!
  • I wouldn't risk it. Turn away. (Edgar Cayce)
    WARNING
: It could be bad karma to watch and/or applaud such savagery (as Edgar Cayce warns in the readings about spectating Coliseum matches and thereby sharing in the individualized collective karma of encouraging violence), and it absolutely is so if gambling. Bettors, be warned, financial logic dictates that Jake Paul is going to win, not because he's a better fighter or stronger or crazier or anything like that. He is likely to win because that makes much more money for them in the grudge match that comes next. How much are they making this time? Paul is being paid twice as much as Tyson ($40 million), and all the media hype tells you that Tyson is going to destroy him. Go with your emotions, and go to the poorhouse like everyone else.
  • Boxing: How much Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will be paid for 'performing' on this Netflix fight (It's called the Entertainment Industry, after all, not the Entertainment Charity)
  • Mike Tyson at 58 continues to change the game (not the serious sport of sparring, but the game of milking money from spectators who want to see blood on the mat)
  • Mike Tyson's Ferrari driving 1000BHP into the ring with Jake Paul [on his millennial hipster chrome tricycle]
Don't make this about race, you Ignorant!
This is strange because he did not attack his opponent violently and personally, but rather by mutual consent and in a professional capacity. They were both taking a chance, and no one thought the Bodhisattva was doing anything wrong for "just doing his job" of professionally fighting.

Heavy unskillful karma (demerit) was nevertheless generated, which came to fruition many times in his final rebirth as the Buddha. (Full enlightenment makes an end of all further rebirth and suffering).

  • Girls never act this way... Wait. Pillow fight!
An old Black has-been says he's not washed up as a young Viking boy (with a twin brother who has a podcast bro-cast) seeks to become the new "Great White Hope" to give white supremacists at home something to cheer about just in case Trump doesn't win it for the Neo-Nazi voting contingency in the next election against big time Israel-supporter District Attorney Killer Kamala.
Quit it! - You quit it! Get off me!
Countdown also follows the lead up to the rematch between Katie "No Catchy Nickname" Taylor and Amanda "The Real Deal" Serrano II as they prepare for one of the most anticipated women's fights in history.

GO BEHIND THE SCENES BEFORE THE BELL. Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson premieres with two episodes on Nov. 7th (when the country is still smarting after a pointless election that sends us down the un-presidented Gore v Bush road again). Episode 3 premieres Nov. 12th.

The Fix Is In: The Showbiz Manipulations of the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL and NASCAR
The Fix Is In (Brian Tuohey)
Investigative author Brian Tuohy, with 4.3 out of 5 stars after172 ratings, looks behind the facade of professional sports in America: It's all about fair play and the goal of winning championships.

At least that's the spin. But could it be a massive showbiz operation filled with greedy owners, crooked referees, and coddled players, all with the unstated goal of grabbing as much money as possible?

Author, sports buff Brian Tuohy
Tuohy provides a fully sourced saga of the corruption that has infected the storied histories of the NBA, MLB, NFL, NHL, and NASCAR.

With reality obscured by a complacent and often complicit sports media, The Fix Is In shines a light on a hidden history of clandestine arrangements between TV networks [is Netflix a network now?] and sports leagues, all against a background of heavy drinking, chemical drugging, reckless gambling, and organized crime. COMMENTARY
*Sports Gambling, Fixing, FBI
Do not bet on this sport. Anyone who gambles with the ambition to win will be manipulated out of money. At least bet on the big picture, not the narrative being pitched. If we had to guess, Jake Paul is going to win. Why? Nothing to do with his fighting or ability, everything to do with showbiz, FBI gambits, and the way to spin a narrative for maximum profit. (Of course, it cannot even be guaranteed that Paul will take it because the real is act is waiting to see how the bets stack up: Which outcome produces the greatest number of losses for the greatest number of bettors? That's what sports bookies, statisticians, and fixers are all about calculating). Think about it. Who wants to see a big, hated monster with a lisp win and win again? No. Watch Rocky and take a Hollywood script writing class. To build drama for the next fight, Match 3, there has to be something big on the line like Tyson's pride, the belt, the record. That's what he gets paid millions for selling out. How do they calculate who should win? That's easy. How do they calculate who will win? That's trick. When the masses zig, the number crunchers and fixers have to zag. It's like setting the odds-on slot machines.

Anniversary of Einstein's theory of relativity

I'd rather be happy than right any day! - And are you? - No, that's where it all falls down of course

Did Alvie Einstein really say Buddhism is the best religion for modern needs? It is said he did.

How to put the genie back?
Is the theory of relativity true? Probably not, but the Suburban Lawns seem to think so, and that's all that really matters. If it helped some scientists do some scientificky things and work out some assumptions with numbers, all the better. No one can deny Albert gets credit for E=MC2, part of his equation for making mountains out of molehills. Why if it were not for him, how could we have built nuclear bombs to drop on Zen Buddhists in Japan, at Nagasaki and Hiroshima, and threaten the world ever since? Sure, he regretted it, but that's pure research for ya, never thinking of consequences. At least he had a social conscience and sense of humor. The US Department of War has to take most of the responsibility.

Einstein quotes we should know before we get old
(Wisdom) Albert Einstein was a German-born Jew, and possibly an aspiring Buddhist, theoretical physicist, widely acknowledged to be one of the greatest and most influential physicists of all time.

What's the secret, Al? - Be yourself.

Einstein is best known for developing the theory of relativity, which he revealed on June 30, 1905, but he also made important contributions to the development of the theory of quantum mechanics. This video contains Albert Einstein quotes.

This collection of quotations is made up of his best quotes, and we hope that his life quotes will inspire you to think about many things in your life.

The quotes from Albert Einstein are well worth your time. Don't forget to save screenshots of the quotes you like to add to your inspiring quotes collection. Thank you for viewing yet another video with quotes, this time by Albert Einstein.

The drawing for a record Powerball lottery jackpot has been delayed Monday night allegedly because a participating lottery needed more time to meet "security requirements," officials said.

California Lottery officials confirmed the delay in a tweet Monday night but did not name the lottery in question. "Powerball has strict security requirements that must be met by all 48 lotteries before a drawing can occur," the officials said.

I rule the world? No wonder everything's a mess.
"When the required security protocols are complete, the drawing will be performed under the supervision of lottery security officials and independent auditors. Winning numbers will be posted as soon as they are available."

[What a load of what Pres. Joey B calls "malarkey"!] A drawing for the $1.9-billion (1,000 million plus 900 more million dollars) jackpot had been scheduled for 7:59 pm Eastern Standard Time, according to Powerball's website. More

Alan Watts: Karma, "Why Not Now?" (video)

This is Alan Watts on television (KQED), filmed in the San Francisco Bay Area back in the 1970s. In it he explains "the true meaning of karma" from the documentary Alan Watts: Why Not Now?
Why Not Now? (Alan Watts trailer)

(T&H - Inspiration & Motivation) This is an inspirational and profound speech from the late British Buddhist philosopher Alan Watts, a self-described "spiritual entertainer." The original audio was sourced from: “Alan Watts: 'Eco Zen' from Philosophies of Asia” produced and edited by T&H Inspiration. It is a documentary film on the life and works of Alan Watts, a two DVD set: alanwatts.org/news.php.

The great philosopher Alan Watts
Each film comes with The Essential Alan Watts, a bonus disc of video materials that did not fit into the film, and "The Animated Alan Watts." The 23-minute DVD includes extracts from the 1972 series "The Fine Art of Goofing Off" as well as a couple of animations produced by South Park creators and animators. The reel has been met with joyous laughter and standing ovations at film showings and is not to be missed.

Why Not Now follows the life of one of the most inspiring philosophers of our time, Alan Watts, as told though none other than Alan Watts himself from the wealth of material and lectures that were left behind after his passing.
Why Not Now was created by his son Mark Watts, who has given T&H (Tragedy and Hope) exclusive rights to create the trailer for the documentary. T&H Inspiration is on a mission to share inspiring wisdom. The goal is to have listeners pause, think, and reflect. Many videos revolve around the extraordinary teachings of Alan Watts that T&H produces with permission from the Alan Watts Electronic University. T&H also films and releases original interviews with iconic people who have experienced successes while also persevering through life's highs and lows. T&H looks forward to sharing more of these perspectives and insights. Its hope with these videos is to push thinking. As Alan Watts said, “No one is more dangerously insane than one who is sane all the time: he is like a steel bridge without flexibility, and the order of his life is rigid and brittle.” – Alan Watts.

NRA Nat'l Convention 2022: Texas w/ Trump

That's the sun, right? The second coming of the sun is at my hand here in Texas, folks.

Katherine Chen should have been in school today.

Instead, the high school student was on stage at an anti-NRA protest directly across the street from the George R. Brown Convention Center, wondering why kids like her had to live in fear of dying in class.
In the future, as in the past, it's shoot and drive
In photo above, protestors Karen Nguyen and Angel Ly engage in a demonstration at Discovery Green against the presence of the NRA in Houston, Friday, May 27, 2022, days after the school mass murder shooting in Uvalde.

“I have to choose to fight for my life in a classroom rather than learn in one. I’m here today, yet again, because people, children, the young and the old, keep getting stolen from us as a direct result of gun violence,” said Chen, the co-executive director of March For Our Lives Houston.
