Tibetan Uprising Day: China invades

I was not lost, I was found, says possible Nazi superman in SYIT

Prof. Uma Thurman's dad (thus.org)
Tashi delek! Tibetan Uprising Day is observed annually on March 10th. It is a day set aside to remember the Tibetan uprising against the People’s Republic of China’s invasion, destruction, occupation, and continuing presence in Tibet beginning in 1959.

It is observed primarily by pro-Tibetan organizations and people and is frequently accompanied by the Dalai Lama’s delivery of a statement calling for renewed efforts to restore Tibet’s rightful place in the world.
  • Magic and Mystery in Tibet (David-Neel)
Tibet was once a Himalayan empire extending from Bangladesh to Mongolia, with its "Vatican" at Potala Palace in Lhasa under its Pope-King the Dalai Lama (Numbers 1-14) overseeing, according to communist China, Serfs' Emancipation Day, This is when China led "serfs" to freedom (on what is now Harriet Tubman Day in the U.S.) in Tibet in 1959 in an act of great concern to the second-class citizens. It was not done to increase China's massive territory by another 25%, extending its 5,000-year-old empire inside of a Great Wall (built by a preexisting empire thought to have been Greater Tartaria) to its present and growing borders. Taiwan is next, as is an invasion of Afghanistan after the British, Russian, and U.S. empires failed.
History of Tibetan Uprising Day

Where can I get those cool flags? (eBay)
Tibet, as it is today, was first unified in the 7th century AD by King Songsten Gampo and his successors. However, its history began in 127 BC, with the formation of the Yarlung Dynasty.

The [communist] People’s Liberation Army of the People’s Republic of China initially entered Tibet in 1949, defeating the small Tibetan army and seizing half of the nation, marking a watershed moment in Tibet’s history [and downfall].

India reassured China (Tibetan Review)
Repression, which included the destruction of holy Buddhist buildings and the arrest of monks (lamas) and other community leaders, rose substantially as resistance to the Chinese occupation grew, particularly in Eastern Tibet.

The communist Chinese government invaded Tibet in 1950, causing chaos and misery for Bon shaman and Vajrayana Buddhist Tibetans, finally resulting in the fall of the Tibetan government and the self-imposed exile of the Dalai Lama and 100,000 Tibetans in 1959.

  • Brad Pitt's hit movie Seven Years in Tibet depicts events as a Hollywood spin on a book that is a firsthand account of what happened.
  • The CIA was meddling in the area, seducing the young Dalai Lama XIV to sign a "deal with the devil" to fight China and regain his spiritual-temporal throne, as arrangements were made to arm and train Tibetan Buddhists including the Dalai Lama's brother in Colorado, USA, and send them back to fight the Chinese in very un-Buddhist ways, perhaps leading to the Dalai Lama's infamous view and comment about guns. He accepted payments from the CIA, making him complicit as an "asset," not a "CIA agent" as some might think. These are documented facts (CIA gave 'aid' to Tibetan exiles in '60s, files show - Los Angeles Times) admitted to by "His Holiness" but denied by PR firm advised pro-Tibet American activists concerned with only one side of the propaganda story.
Tibetan prayer flags wave in the wind worldwide
Despite all the religious persecution by the officially atheist communists, loss of their national heritage, and frequent violations of their human rights, Tibetans continue to raise their voices in unison, asking for independence.

Tibet is still considered a sovereign state under international law. Tibet’s sovereignty has NOT been transferred to China as a result of China’s armed invasion and ongoing occupation by the People’s Liberation Army (P.L.A.).

All who continue to support this cause believe that someday Tibet will achieve the independence it so dearly desires and deserves. More

The Dalai Lama worked/works for the CIA?
Tibet's pope was king, so we dealt with him.
While the Dalai Lama, a CIA asset, was hesitant to align with the anti-communist Chinese government in Taiwan, his brother Gyalo Thondup, had a lengthy history of contact with the CIA. He was involved in anti-communist governments such as the Kuomintang (KMT) and its leader, Chiang Kai-shek. Brother Thondup spent his early years in Nanjing, the capital of the Republic of China, where he "ate his meals at the Chiang family table, from April 1947 until the summer of 1949, and tutors selected by Chiang educated the boy" [17]. These close contacts with the KMT are confirmed in a 1959 Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) bulletin, which reveals that Thondup met with KMT representatives "to sign an agreement which might be the basis for eventual Nationalist recognition of Tibetan 'independence' and a free Tibet government" [18]. Well before American Mahayana Buddhists and New Age acolytes began flocking to the feet of Tibet's Dalai Lama, hippies and spiritual seekers were following in the footsteps of [abusive sex cult guru] Chogyam Trungpa, a Tibetan lama [or rinpoche] who took up residence in the U.S. during the 1970s [after escaping Tibet to study in England, where he abused drugs and a wild lifestyle, molesting marrying a 16-year-old girl, crashing a car and leaving himself partially crippled, bitter, and angry at his sycophantic students who loved his irreverence as it seemed to match their loose Sixties' lifestyle of "sex, drugs, and rock 'n roll"]. WASHINGTON D.C. — For much of the 1960s, the Tibetan exile movement was provided CIA funding to at least the tune of $1.7 million a year for secret "operations" against China, including an annual "subsidy" of $180,000 for the Dalai Lama, according to newly released U.S. intelligence documents.

The money for the Tibetans and the Dalai Lama was part of the CIA’s worldwide effort during the height of the Cold War to undermine [destroy] communist governments, particularly in the Soviet Union and China.

In fact, the U.S. government committee that approved the Tibetan operations also authorized the disastrous Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba.

The documents, published last month [in 1998] by the U.S. State Department, illustrate the historical background of the situation in Tibet today, in which China continues to accuse the Dalai Lama of being an agent of foreign forces seeking to separate Tibet from China.

Did I know about the deal the Dalai Lama got?
The CIA’s program encompassed support of [violent] Tibetan guerrillas [engaged in warfare] in Nepal, a covert military training site in Colorado [home of the infamous Shambhala sex cult guru Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche's Naropa Institute], “Tibet Houses” [like Prof. Robert Thurman's TibetHouse.us] established to promote Tibetan causes in New York and Geneva, [violent] education for Tibetan operatives at Cornell University, and supplies for reconnaissance [aka spying] teams. Hating TV's Jennifer Aniston and "Friends"

Zack Sharf (Variety, 3/29/23); Crystal Q., Seth Auberon, CC Liu (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

Friends is offensive comedy to snowflake kids
I'm not gay. Can I be on Fast Times at R High?
Jennifer Aniston
has been starring in comedies for nearly 30 years, from the launch of NBC’s Friends in 1994 to the upcoming release of her latest Netflix movie Murder Mystery 2 [which is getting horrible reviews as unfunny garbage], which means she’s had a front row seat to watching comedy tastes change over three decades.

Aniston recently told France's AFP (via Yahoo News) that “comedy has [d]evolved” so much that it’s a bit tricky these days to be funny.

Don't say I'm a man; that would make Ross gay!
“Now it’s a little tricky because you have to be very careful, which makes it really hard for comedians, because the beauty of comedy is that we make fun of ourselves, make fun of life,” Aniston said.

“[In the past] you could joke about a bigot and have a laugh: that was hysterical. And it was about educating people on how ridiculous people were. And now we’re not allowed to do that.”

“There’s a whole generation of people, kids, who are now going back to episodes of ‘Friends’ and find them offensive,” Aniston added.

“There were things that were never intentional and others…well, we should have thought it through — but I don’t think there was a sensitivity like there is now.” More: variety.com

What about my "open marriage," Brad Pitt?

Perez Hilton (perezhilton.com); Bela, Ananda (DBM), CC Liu (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

My youth makes me free. - My fame is my luck.
Sounds like Brad Pitt doesn’t mind sharing his new girlfriend!

According to a DailyMail.com source, the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor met the stunning Nicole Poturalski at a high-class Berlin restaurant that is owned by her 68-year-old husband.

That’s right: Brad’s new squeeze is a married woman. But it’s not exactly cheating…

The outlet reported that the 27-year-old German model is in an “open marriage” with 68-year-old restaurateur Roland Mary, who apparently met movie star Pitt before Brad ever laid eyes on his stunning wife in August of 2019.

Word on the street is the Oscar-winner became acquainted with Mary and his restaurant, Borchardt, way back in 2009 when he was filming on location in Germany for the Quentin Tarantino anti-Nazi fantasy flick, Inglourious Basterds.

I like rich, famous, powerful older men (Nicole Poturalski).
Brad returned to the city center venue in August of last year while promoting his latest Tarantino movie, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, with the director and co-stars Leonardo Di Caprio and Margot Robbie when he met Nicole for the first time. A friend of the model told MailOnline:

“Brad Pitt first met Nicole in August last year at Borchardt, which is her husband Roland’s restaurant. Brad Pitt has been coming to Borchardt for years. He knows Roland, and Nicole was at the restaurant when he came to celebrate his new film.

Brad was introduced to Roland’s wife Nicole, and she passed him her number. Nicole travels a lot for her work as a fashion model, and she connected with Brad Pitt while she was in L.A. for work.” We guess it pays to have friends in high places…or husbands.

Just a few weeks later, the model was in L.A. for a photo shoot when she reportedly met up with Brad — and the rest is herstory: As Perez Hilton previously reported, the pair were pictured together at a Kanye West concert in November 2019.

Angelina Aniston, Jennifer Jolie? (No, it's Nicole Poturalski on Instagram)

It wasn’t until earlier this week that the public caught on after the twosome were photographed looking lovey-dovey as they touched down at France’s Le Castellet Airport. They’re currently vacationing at the actor’s luxury Chateau Miraval in the south of France that he purchased with ex Angelina Jolie in 2008.

For his part, Roland — whose eatery has become a landmark in Berlin’s showbiz scene — declined to discuss his wife’s tryst with the movie star, but a source told the publication the businessman is very “philosophical” about his wife’s “close friendship” with the Hollywood heartthrob.

The friend added:

“Roland is a very philosophical guy. He has been married several times and has five children. He is not interested in negativity or jealousy. They are still married but you could describe their relationship as an ‘open marriage’.”

Whoa! We are obviously not going to shame anyone for living the way they want to live, but this does kind of put a block on any big future talk for the couple, doesn’t it? More

The real Tibetan Buddhism you don't know

Mark Hay (aeon.co), Pam Weintraub (ed.); Ashley Wells, Crystal Quintero, Wisdom Quarterly

Tibetan Buddhism, in the pop-cultural psyche of the United States, is the Dalai Lama’s face grinning from a cover in the self-help section of your nearest bookstore.

It’s a monk in a maroon robe sitting calmly in a full-skull electrode cap as researchers probe his brain to learn how meditation plays into his unique serenity [absorptions].

It’s that over-the-top scene from the film Seven Years in Tibet (1997) in which Brad Pitt is trying to build a movie theater for the young Dalai Lama in Tibet's capital Lhasa in the 1940s when he realizes that his local crew has such a strong reverence for life and abiding patience that none is willing to harm a worm while digging ditches.

Earth-witnessing mudra in Tibetan Buddhism
Which is to say that Tibetan Buddhism in the US pop-cultural psyche is a monolithic and benign spiritual tradition built around simple wisdom, loving kindness, and unflinching non-violence.

This belief in an uncomplicated, compassionate, and progressive Tibetan Buddhism is what allows us to reliably portray Tibetan Buddhists as sympathetic victims in the media.

It’s what powers headlines in The Onion such as "Buddhist Extremist Cell Vows to Unleash Tranquility on the West" -- and what at one point created an unprecedented market for Tibetan nannies in cities such as New York.

However pervasive the stereotype, though, the US vision of Tibetan Buddhism is anemic, to say the least.

Sure, compassion is central to the tradition, but there’s room for violence as well. Medieval Tibetan tales describe religious teachers breaking students’ bones, then healing them magically to bring them insight. They tell of monks assassinating corrupt kings to save Buddhism in Tibet.

Modern history brings us the stories, often neglected in the West, of the CIA-backed violent insurgency that Tibetan Buddhists waged against the Chinese occupation from the 1950s to the mid-1970s -- and of an all-Tibetan refugee unit formed in India to fight the Chinese in a 1962 war.

Far from being easy to grasp and anodyne, Tibetan Buddhism is complex with tantric practices, the impenetrably esoteric ideas and techniques used to try to slingshot spiritual seekers directly towards the enlightenment they seek to attain within this lifetime to best help others.

It is difficult to succinctly sum up the diverse tantric traditions and sub-traditions, each of which contains a trove of doctrines and practices, some of which monks intentionally obscure from lay audiences, for fear that they will be misused or misunderstood by non-initiates.

Perhaps the best-known esoteric tradition in the West is the Kalachakra Initiation, the ceremony in which the Dalai Lama or other high-ranking monks slowly construct beautifully intricate mandalas out of colored sand, and then wipe them away. Laypeople in the West usually... More

Cambodia: "First They Killed My Father" (video)

Angelina Jolie, Luong Ung (Netflix); BBC; CC Liu, Ashley Well (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly

Cambodia: The Power of Memory
(Angelina Jolie Brasil) Almost 40 years after the Cambodian genocide by the CIA-backed Communist Khmer Rouge or "Red Khmer" regime, which cost more than two million innocent lives in the "killing fields," people are still struggling to come to terms with what happened.

A new film by Hollywood director Angelina Jolie and her Cambodian son Maddux, with an entirely Cambodian cast, based on a memoir by Loung Ung, attempts to help the healing process.

For the BBC's Our World, Host Yalda Hakim has been to Theravada Buddhist Cambodia to meet Jolie and some of those who lived through that genocide. More about the film and book (First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers by Loung Ung)

Brangelina's DIVORCE, Brad's Buddhist women

Ashley Wells, CC Liu, Crystal Quintero, Seth Auberon, Wisdom Quarterly; NYpost.com
(Sony Pictures) Brad Pitt stars in the Buddhist film "Seven Years in Tibet" early in his career.

Angelina dumped Brad after private eye uncovered Marion Cotillard affair
(Sept. 20, 2016 - 11:13 am) "[Angelina] hired a private eye because she felt that he was fooling around with [Marion] on the set, and it turns out, he was." the source said.

On the best day of Mr. Aniston's life (yes, mister, because Jennifer was born a biological man, which is probably why so many straight men break up with her when they tragically find out they were duped just like the rest of us), crazy, beautiful, breast-less Angelina Jolie is divorcing kind, handsome, affable Brad Pitt, who was caught cheating by a PI hired by Jolie (according to the NY Post).

(D117) Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie) manages to escape from Manfred Powell and his men by jumping into a waterfall then travels by boat to a Theravada Buddhist town (Angkor Wat) in Cambodia. Wet she changes into traditional garb then contacts Powell using a phone at the Buddhist town. Croft is then involved in a deep prayer at the meditation hall where the Buddhist monks provide her a special tea that cures all of her injuries.

(US Campaign for [Buddhist] Burma) Jennifer Aniston participated in a campaign to highlight the Burmese Buddhist struggle for liberty, democracy, and human rights usually called the Saffron Revolution. Celebrities raised their voices to build one million voices of support for Burma and Aung San Suu Kyi (who is now free and leading Burma!) at burmaitcantwait.org. (Directed by Jennifer Aniston/USCampaignForBurma.org).

Cotillard with Buddhist prayer hands at premiere in Japan.
You get close to your co-stars in Hollywood. I'm not trying to break anyone up.

But that's not what their PR people want you. He's a bad father, not raising their kids the way she would like, no more details given. Baloney.

I'm not laughing, I'm just sad he cheats.
The real question is not why celebrities can't stay together, it's Why can't anyone stay together? If only astrology offered a universal reason driving everyone apart on  this planet. Even sex-addict rocker Ozzy Osbourne split with long-time wife Sharon. But they got back together. She is his business manager, after all, and this weekend is OzzFestMeetsKnotFest.com, as part of Black Sabbath's "The End Tour," combined this year with the hardest rocking tour in the country (just behind Cannibal Corpse's recently completed Summer Slaughter Tour), Knot Fest with Slipknot, Slayer, et al.

Ang's dad Jon Voight "very sad" over Brangelina split
(Sept. 20, 2016 - 1:13 pm) “Something very serious must have happened for Angie to make a decision like this," Voight added.

Should police conduct "virginity tests"? (video)

Wisdom Quarterly (TABOO); Angelina Jolie; CNN; AL Jazeera English; Karen Stuhldreher
CNN's Ivan Watson reports on how some young Egyptians suffer for raising their voices.

Some people call checking a girl or woman's virginity status "rape." But police and military forces throughout the world prefer to call it a purity "test."

This is particularly important in societies that value purity, such as the puritanical United States, Christian crusading Europe, and former Western empires (British, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, Scandinavian/Viking, Roman, Greek). Of course, we are told it never happens here, except maybe by some aberrant rogue element. It is what others do because they are "barbarians." And we are virtuous, upholders of the good, never hypocritical... "in God we trust," yada yada yada.

Our soldiers and police prefer to conduct these tests on countries we as a nation invade and colonize -- from theaters of war to ghettos, jails, and barracks. Virginity testing has long been an instrument of "genocide-lite." US soldiers -- for example in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Afghanistan, Iraq, and South America -- could kill the women like they do the men who resist being invaded.

() "In The Land Of Blood & Honey" (in theaters Dec. 23, 2011) is a love story set during the Bosnian war of 1992-1995, focusing on a couple who meet on the eve of the war and the effect the war has on their relationship.

But sometimes they let them off lightly with rape. Of course, some of our soldiers are tricky and kill the victims they sexually violate. But we prosecute them, particularly if they are quoted as saying "It was awesome."

() Egyptian military official denies that
military conducted forced "virginity tests" on protesters.

Goodness knows it happens in our jail, to both male and female detainees. But our forces prefer to inflict this examination on the powerless and voiceless. It has even caught on in the Islamic world. Testing was recently highlighted in Egypt's Tahrir Square misunderstandings.

A few valiant soldiers in the police and "security" forces may have gotten carried away with female prisoners they beat, publicly stripped, brutalized, and tested. Now Egypt has officially banned the practice.

(Did it previously allow it? No, but now it's really banned...unless it is done in private and kept secret like before.) It even went on in the Land of Blood and Honey. And in a film of the same name, director Angelina Jolie aims to shine a light on the practice.

State Rape?
Karen Stuhldreher, University of Washington, Seattle
The act of raping women is largely understood to be an inevitable consequence of war. As General George S. Patton predicted during World War II, "there would unquestionably be some raping."1

Rape and the mutilation of women's bodies are evidently part of the usual military fare in war. During the Vietnam war, rape was in fact an all too common occurrence, often described by GIs as SOP -- standard operating procedure.2

"That's an everyday affair... you can nail just about everybody on that -- at least once," offered a squad leader in the 34d Platoon of Charlie Company when questioned by a reporter about the rape that occurred at My Lai.3

Another GI, Joe Galbally, when testifying for the Winter Soldier Investigation, concluded his report about a specific incident of gang rape by American soldiers by saying... More

"The Tree of Life" (2011 film)

Brad Pitt stars in a new film from Terrence Malick -- the acclaimed director of Badlands, Days of Heaven, and The Thin Red Line. The Tree of Life is the impressionistic story of a Midwestern American family in the 1950's.

It follows the life journey of the eldest son, Jack (played as an adult by Sean Penn), through the innocence of childhood to his disillusioned adult years. He tries to reconcile a complicated relationship with his father (Brad Pitt).

Jack finds himself a lost soul in the modern world: He is seeking answers to the origins and meaning of life while questioning the existence of faith.

Through Malick's signature imagery, we see how both brute nature and spiritual grace shape not only our lives as individuals and families, but all life.
The U.S. House of Representatives voted Thursday to extend three key provisions of the Patriot Act until June 1, 2015. The Senate voted earlier in the day to approve the extension bill. The House vote was 250 in favor, with 153 opposed. Oppositions to the bill said it was an invasion of privacy and had hoped to add language providing for further oversight and audits of the activities the law permits. The three provisions are as follows: One would enable law enforcement officials to conduct surveillance on suspects without a warrant who switch communication devices, such as using disposable cellular phones. A second would let officials conduct warrant-less surveillance on suspects not currently linked to any known terrorist organization abroad. The third would enable officials access to suspects' business transactions without a warrant. Pres. Obama signed the bill using an auto pen machine from France. Source

Jennifer Aniston: Yoga, "Free Burma"

Until Jennifer Aniston promises to "free Burma," Woody Harrelson pitches a fit and will not leave his trailer (USCampaignForBurma).

(National Ledger) Hollywood superstar Jennifer Aniston reportedly "quiets her mind" by doing two hours of yoga almost every other day. Jennifer, 40, said it has helped to make her legs leaner, her arms stronger, her limbs longer, as well as improving her overall posture. Reports also claim she said her muscles are more toned from a workout that is more like a therapy session. Jennifer split with husband Brad, 45, in 2005 and she reportedly said that yoga helped her to recover from that split.

OM MY GOODNESS Acclaimed Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, President of the Universal Society of Hinduism, said in a statement that he invites other Hollywood stars to explore yoga, which has been referred to as a "living fossil." Zed added that sages described "yoga" as really being the "silencing of all mental transformations."
