Himalayan-like floods hit Grand Canyon

(Arizona's Family (3TV / CBS 5)) Grand Canyon flash flood: breaking down the storm, burn scar, and safety impacts
(Robyn Adele Anderson) Jazz cover of this disaster: Megadeth's "Symphony of Destruction"

First Hawaii, then Nepal and Tibet in the Himalayas, and now Utah is swelling, and Arizona's Grand Canyon is getting wiped out as torrential floods sweep through in a symphony of destruction over the weekend, as wildfires burn in California and Texas.

Grand Canyon secrets exposed*
On Saturday, August 29, 2026, at approximately 2:30 pm (MST), a major flash flood surged through Bright Angel Creek inside Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona.

The flood killed at least 1, while about 15 are reported missing, and 62 have been rescued.

In 2025, the Dragon Bravo Fire destroyed vegetation on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and had dried the land into an impermeable, clay-like surface incapable of absorbing water.

The flood occurred during a convergence of various environmental conditions, including the Arizona monsoon, Super El Niño, a marine heatwave, Tropical Storm Iselle, and a heat dome pulling storms eastward, resulting in atmospheric moisture levels being 5-15% higher than average.
How will evidence of giants in U.S. survive?
Hours before the flood, two smaller storm systems and several rounds of rain moved into the North Rim, with rains of up to 1 inch per hour being observed [1]. At the time of the flood, the downpour had intensified to two-thirds of an inch in a quarter of an hour [2].

The heavy rainfall combined with the steep, rocky canyon terrain caused water to funnel down into the narrow Bright Angel Creek [3], water levels rising to over 5 feet in within 10 minutes [2].

Tourists in the area variously described witnessing heavy rainfall, the creek rapidly overflowing, cascading waterfalls, 15-foot-tall floodwaters, and buildings and vehicles being washed away.

The flood also incited several secondary hazards including rockfalls, landslides, and mudslides [3, 4, 5]. More

Forbidden History Revealed (GenSix Prods)
*For the first time in history, here is an eyewitness account to the fact that Egyptian-style artifacts and giant skeletons were pulled out of the Grand Canyon in Arizona and stored in secret, underground Smithsonian warehouses. This investigative documentary by Steve Quayle (no relation to VP Dan Quayle) explores the following:
  • Why are the landforms in the Grand Canyon named after Egyptian deities?
  • Why are DNA samples from giant mummies and skeletons being extracted by the militaries of the world?
  • Was a live 21-foot giant captured in 1877 with the most unusual features ever noted?
  • Will the giants of yesteryear become the "super soldiers" of tomorrow?
This is yet another great Smithsonian cover up. Forbidden History Revealed, Ep. 1 (DVD)

Salt: A World History

Salt: World History (Kurlansky)
Best-selling author Mark Kurlansky turns his attention to a common household item with a long and intriguing history: salt. The only rock we eat, salt has shaped civilization from the very beginning, and its story is a glittering, often surprising part of the history of humankind. A substance so valuable it served as currency (Latin sal, which gives us our word "salary," our ration of life-sustaining sodium chloride used as wages), salt has influenced the establishment of trade routes and cities, provoked and financed wars, secured empires, and inspired revolutions. Populated by colorful characters and filled with an unending series of fascinating details, Salt is a supremely entertaining, multi-layered masterpiece. More

South, Midwest brace for rain, flooding

Where do Elon Musk's engineers and inventors steal their ideas, India circa 1990? (rense.com)

Regime Change! We've had it with both of them.
Is there a connection between human turmoil and weather chaos? Do we inadvertently impact our environment, stirring storms, droughts, plagues, and famines by our collective
karma ("mass actions," such as group meditation or group prayer or rioting or demonstrating or going to see the Greek play Lysistrata)? Of course, the powers-that-be launch and manipulate many of these things, but we may also be having an impact without realizing it. We and our environment are not two separate things but are interdependent. A peaceful uprising might lead to peace in the skies, seas, and shaky grounds. The Buddha's Agganna Sutta certainly suggests we are always interacting and interdepending inside and out. Protests to continue: handsoff2025.com. Occupy.com is not real news.

South and Midwest brace for more historic rains, flooding
(NBC News) April 4, 2025:  The South and Midwest brace for more historic rains and severe flooding in a deadly multiday storm system. The 36-hour period from Friday evening into Sunday morning will be the most dangerous, as an additional 6 to 12 inches of rain will fall over already drenched areas. NBC News’ Kathy Park reports. #flood #extremeweather #midwest

Snow, rain pound burned out LA, OC

Storm timeline: When will the heavy rain, mountain snow hit SoCal?
(ABC7) March 11, 2025: Another storm in Southern California will soak the region, bringing mountain snow and heavy rain to the region, with strong winds and flooding, particularly in the burn scars of the Eaton and Sunset Fires in Altadena and Hollywood but not sparing sunny Orange County and the Airport Fire burn scar. The Palisades Fire may wash more debris into the sea, further polluting Santa Monica Bay. Snow at the beginning of spring and freezing temps as the city prepares for St. Patrick's Day? What climate change and chaos is afoot? Legend has it that when there is fire, there are earthquakes so Angelenos can "shake and bake," with mudslides following every hillside fire, wearing away at the city, capital of the world, as it falls into the Pacific. Mt. Baldy is covered in snow with foothills dusted, easily melting in the sunshine of clear days. Meteorologist Dallas Raines explains, and KTLA 5 provides in-depth coverage. Torrential rains, atmospheric river, El Nino and La Nina threatening, waterspouts, a tornado in Pico Rivera, thunder, graupel, hail, the weather devas are having a field day. Full story: abc7.com/post/los-angeles-wea...

Robot enters Fukushima, finds problem (video)

Time; AP.org, July 23, 2017; Ashley Wells, CC Liu, Seth Auberon (eds.), Wisdom Quarterly
I was offered the job. This is what I showed them. They used a swimming bot* instead.
(Time, July 19, 2017) An underwater robot entered a badly damaged reactor at Japan's Fukushima nuclear plant Wednesday, capturing images of the harsh impact of its meltdown, including key structures that were torn and knocked out of place.

TOKYO, Japan - Images captured by an underwater robot showed massive deposits believed to be melted nuclear fuel covering the floor of a damaged reactor at Japan's [highly contaminated and] crippled Fukushima nuclear plant.

2: lava-like formations underwater (AP)
The robot found large amounts of solidified lava-like rocks and lumps in layers as thick as 3 feet (1 meter) on the bottom inside of a main structure called the pedestal that sits underneath the core inside the primary containment vessel of Fukushima's Unit 3 reactor, said the plant's operator, Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO).

  • 2. Heaps of solidified lava-like rocks believed to be nuclear fuel that had melted in the 2011 accident during a probe inside of the Unit 3 reactor at Japan's tsunami-wrecked Fukushima nuclear plant.
I'd go, but I'm Catholic! (BlessU2/The Sun)
On Friday (July 21, 2017), the robot spotted suspected debris of melted fuel for the first time since the 2011 earthquake and tsunami caused multiple meltdowns and destroyed the plant. The three-day probe of Unit 3 ended Saturday.

Locating and analyzing the fuel debris and damage in each of the plant's three wrecked reactors is crucial for decommissioning the plant. The search for melted fuel in the two other reactors has so far been unsuccessful because of damage and extremely high radiation levels.

There-there, C3PO. He's scared of Fukushima.
During this week's probe, cameras mounted on the robot showed extensive damage caused by the core meltdown, with fuel debris mixed with broken reactor parts, suggesting the difficult challenges ahead in the decades-long decommissioning of the destroyed plant.

TEPCO spokesman Takahiro Kimoto said it would take time to analyze the debris in the images to figure out debris removal methods. More

Equinox: close-up of planet's rings

Saturn Equinox and Planet's Rings

  • CICLOPS (Cassini Imaging Lab) Space Science Institute
BOULDER, Colorado (9/21/09) - In a rare and breathtaking display of nature, the setting of the sun on Saturn's rings, called equinox, has been captured in a series of striking Cassini images, uncovering a hidden dimension to this fabled disk of icy debris or "ring."
At the exact moment of equinox, which occurs twice every Saturn year (or once every 14.8 Earth years), the sun is directly overhead at the equator and illuminating the rings directly edge-on. More>>

Impact of Space Junk

What is the impact of space debris on the Earth's atmosphere?
OPINION Physics Today (May 21, 2009)

Space.com: There is growing appreciation that outer space has become a trash bin, with the Earth encircled by dead or dying spacecraft, along with menacing bits of orbital clutter — some of which burns up in the planet's atmosphere.

PHOTO: depiction of tracked space debris, not to scale (ESA/AP)

But there is another line of research that needs exploring: The overall impact of human-made orbital debris, solid and liquid propellant discharges, and other space age substance abuse that winds up in a high-speed dive through Earth's atmosphere.

There's a convenient toss-away line that is in vogue: that such space refuse simply "burns up" — a kind of out of sight, out of mind declaration.

What chemistry is involved given the high heating during reentry of space leftovers made of tungsten, beryllium, aluminum, and lots of composite materials? The impact of these materials on Earth's atmosphere — top to bottom — would seem worthy of investigation. Source
