Better Jesus preserved in Ethiopia

Dark skinned Middle Easterner (Northern African) with intense eyes like Dr. Hillman explains

Who dares question ancient written scripture?
(Freely) Hollywood Mel Gibson: With its 88 books, the "Ethiopian Bible describes Jesus in incredible detail" -- and it's not what we [have been taught by the official Church to] think! The Book of Enoch openly talks about extraterrestrials, realms, UFOs, and visitations/abductions, but Catholics and Protestants are not able to read or believe it. The Ascension of Isaiah... The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church was made invisible to the West and its imperial Christianity run to serve empire.

Do Christians and God LOVE homosexuals?

My Dad made me a lesbian questioning her identity, while my Mother just stood by.

Does the Christian God of the Bible send gay people to hell?
Silk mylk's marketed to?
(Bible Animations) The God Jehovah (YHWH, Yahweh, Asherah's husband) hates gays, right? Homosexuality is an "abomination" to the almighty. We all know that. But that was the old Christianity. What's the new spin in the age of LGBTQIA+ rights? Same old gay hatred but using nicer and more inclusive words and pronouns? Do we let lesbianism and bisexuality slide but condemn male homosexuality, unless it's child molestation in which case we give fathers and priests (both patriarchs, who are the foundation of our Patriarchy) a big pass? Right, Padre? Right, Pope? Catholics have much to answer for in this respect, whereas Protestants mainly molest their own children rather than their neighbor's kids, right, relative to non-incest cases, when Mormons and all sects are added up.

What about Buddhism?
Buddhism loves gays. Which is not to say that all Buddhists do. Buddhists are not told to hate gays or homosexuality. But the patriarchs (apart from the Japanese Zen ones and others who practiced or advocated pederasty, a kind of homosexual child molestation made famous by the ancient Greeks and, it would seem, the Muslim Pashtuns in Afghanistan) seem to love them.

Ancient scholar-monks may have been less favorably disposed to any non-normative "gay" practices, particularly cross-dressing, which in many countries around the world was a stoning offense. The wrinkle is that "homosexual" is not actually a perfectly defined term. It is, and just ask any gay person or social science buff, a social construct.

That means it is socially constructed by implicit bias and made into a consensus reality. Once it gets to that point, it seems like a natural category and we say and honestly believe that "everybody knows what it means."

But this is just not true. There is no fixed definition of "gay," even now. Do an experiment. Ask around. Go to Brazil or an American prison and ask them what "gay" means. The answer may shock you until you realize that the self-serving definition they're using is pretty popular around the world and throughout history. It may even make one wonder what definition one has been using all this time.

Isn't effeminate behavior "gay"? No, of course not. One can lisp, droop the wrists, talk in a high-pitched, whining, or singsongy way all one wants. That doesn't make one "gay." It may earn them the title. But surely homosexuality has to do with sexual behavior and desire, not one's choice of wardrobe. But because we cannot see their internal states or past conduct, we simply infer it.

What is "gay" in Brazil, parts of Europe such as Greece, and in American prisons? Making love to men? Nope. (Huh?!) Getting aroused by males and their openings and then raping them? Nope. (Say what?!) Wanting to be with a member of the same sex in a sexual way to satisfy some sexual urge? Nope. (You gotta be kidding!) A man knowing another man biblically? Nope. (Goddammit, that must be it?!) A male placing his aroused sexual organ into another male -- by force, trickery, implied threat, or financial compulsion -- with the intent of sexual pleasure that consummates in a futile procreative act? Nope. (Aw, you gotta be kidding?!)

"Gay" in Greece and some other parts of Europe, Brazil and many parts of Latin America, and throughout the American prison system means, get this, "being on the bottom." What?? Being the receptive partner makes one "gay" or developing feelings of attachment and puppy love or going about acting weak, receptive, effeminate, or insufficiently masculine and tough?

For example, in Brazil, go to the beach where all the beautiful people are, with stunningly attractive women are wearing bikinis and showing off their Brazilian hair removal, and ask the men hitting on them if they also want to have sex with males and boys walking around the beach. They're likely to say yes, in this way showing off their masculinity or machismo. Now ask if they want males having sex with them, and the answer is likely to be disbelief or something like, "What do you think I am, a 'gay'?"

But you just said you want to have sex with guys. "Yeah," they will explain, "but I want to be on top." This means they want to be aroused, active, and have agency, which will make them -- by this popular definition of "gay" -- perfectly "straight." In fact, ask the women, and they are likely to agree that only receivers are "gay," whereas as givers are even more "macho" for being indiscriminate sodomites, rapists, molesters, and virile givers.

It's the same in prison, where everything is perverted and topsy turvy in distinction to the world and mores outside the prison. The same in Greece. It's almost certainly the same in some parts of Afghanistan where foreign Pashtuns have settled and brought their own mores and ideas. See the practice that horrified American soldiers fighting for capitalism and world domination during the 20-year US War on Afghanistan called sex with "dancing lady boys" (bacha bazi) or "boy play."

There are girls they could be molesting, but they prefer to trick, force, or hire boys to dress as girls and then be passed around by normatively "heterosexual" men whose wives and daughters are home as they drink, sing, and have a gay night out with the boys (their peers) and their victims.

If we say "bitch" or "punk" in prison and subsequently in the ghetto, barrio, and machine shop or blue-collar workplace where whites on parole congregate, these terms do not refer to females so much as "weak" males, victims, receivers, prostitutes, gays, and those who were sexually abused or about to be sexually assaulted by "straight" gay manly men.

Therefore, as in ancient times, the Buddhist scholars, particularly the most famous one of all named Buddhaghosa (the "ghost or voice of the Buddha") wrestled with the catchall term pandaka. In a kind way we could translate this strange term as "pansexual," but the traditional rendering has been more akin to "pervert." And one did not need to be "gay" to be labeled one.
  • "Gay" as we have been using the term to far has the functional definition, for this purpose and saying nothing about its changing nature and definition, of a member of one biological sex (XX or XY or an anomaly such as an intersex or hermaphroditic individual)

Adolf Hitler vs. The "Jew World Order"
(LOVE Trumps Truth, Dec. 13, 2017)
They say "the winner writes history." It is absolutely true, and the most egregious example in modern times has to be the mainstream media's (mis)understanding of Adolf Hitler and pre-WW II Germany.

Adolf Hitler was actually a vegetarian [though this is in question], animal-lover, author, artist, political activist, economic reformer, and was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. He enacted the world's first anti-animal cruelty, anti-pollution, and anti-smoking laws.

Unlike the "demonic" portrait the Allies painted of him, Hitler was beloved by his people. He wanted nothing but peace, and he never ordered the extermination of a single Jew.

The largely Jewish-controlled mainstream media has since painted an evil picture of Adolf Hitler. And the "Jew World Order" has even enacted laws in 16 European countries criminalizing free-speech on the issues of [questioning] Judaism, Hitler, and/or the Holocaust calling it "denial."

World Book Club, Sebastian Barry on his The Secret Scripture (photo by The Irish Times)

This month the BBC's World Book Club is celebrating its 15th birthday.

It has come to where it all began -- in September 2002 -- The Edinburgh Book Festival, to talk to Irish literary superstar Sebastian Barry about his poignant and much garlanded novel The Secret Scripture.

Now in her 100th year, Roseanne McNulty, once the most beautiful girl in County Sligo, Ireland, has long been locked up in an mental asylum for reasons that gradually become clear as she decides to put down a secret record of her remarkable story.

Set against an Ireland besieged by conflict, The Secret Scripture is at once an epic story of love and heart-rending betrayal and a vivid reminder of the stranglehold that the Catholic Church had on individual lives for much of the 20th century. More + download

What is the famous "Dhammapada"?

Amber Larson, Crystal Quintero, Wisdom Quarterly; Ven. Buddharakkhita; Bhikkhu Bodhi
Towering in the Himalayas, the Buddha at Thimphu, Bhutan (Srijan Roy Choudhury).

Thimphu, Kuenselphodrang, Bhutan (ST3)
The Dhammapada is the best known and most widely esteemed text in the Pali Tipitaka (the "Three Collections" in the exclusively-Buddhist language called Pali), the sacred scriptures of Theravada Buddhism.

The work is included in the "Minor Collection" (Khuddaka Nikaya) of the Sutra Collection, but its popularity has raised it far above the single niche it occupies in the scriptures to the ranks of a world religious classic.

Composed in the ancient Pali language, this slim anthology of verses constitutes a perfect compendium of the Buddha's teaching, containing between its covers all of the essential principles elaborated at length in the 40+ volumes of the Pali canon.

According to the Theravada Buddhist tradition, each verse in the Dhammapada was originally spoken by the Buddha in response to a particular episode.

The Vissudhimagga (Ven. Buddhaghosa)
Accounts of these, along with exegesis of the verses, are preserved in the classic commentary to the work, compiled by the great Indian scholar-monk Bhadantacariya Buddhaghosa in the fifth century C.E. on the basis or material going back to very ancient times (much of it preserved in Sri Lanka).
The contents of the verses, however, transcend the limited and particular circumstances of their origin, reaching out through the ages to various types of people in all the diverse situations of life. For the simple and unsophisticated the Dhammapada is a sympathetic counselor.

For the intellectually overburdened its clear and direct teachings inspire humility and reflection; for the earnest seeker it is a perennial source of inspiration and practical instruction.

Insights that flashed into the heart of the Buddha have crystallized into these luminous verses of pure wisdom. As profound expressions of practical spirituality, each verse is a guideline to right living. The Buddha unambiguously pointed out that whoever earnestly practices the teachings found in the Dhammapada will taste the bliss of liberation, freedom, emancipation (nirvana)....
— Acharya Buddharakkhita
What is the Dhammapada?
Bhikkhu Bodhi

From ancient times to the present, the Dhammapada has been regarded as the most succinct expression of the Buddha's teaching found in the Pali canon and the chief spiritual testament of early Buddhism.

In countries following Theravada Buddhism, such as Sri Lanka, Burma, and Thailand, the influence of the Dhammapada is ubiquitous. It is a rich source of themes for sermons and discussions, a guidebook for resolving the countless problems of everyday life, a primer for the instruction of novices in monasteries.

Even the experienced contemplative, withdrawn to forest hermitage or mountainside cave for a life of meditation, can be expected to count a copy of this book among his or her few material possessions.

Yet, the admiration the Dhammapada has elicited has not been confined to avowed followers of Buddhism. Wherever it has become known its moral earnestness, realistic understanding of human life, aphoristic wisdom, and stirring message of a way to freedom from suffering have won for it the devotion and veneration of those responsive to the good and the true.

The expounder of the verses that comprise the Dhammapada is the Shakyan sage called the Buddha, an honorific title meaning "the Enlightened One" or "the Awakened One."

Gandhara texts of the Dhammapada (GD)
The story of this venerable personage has often been overlaid with literary embellishment and the admixture of legend, but the historical essentials of his life are simple and clear. He was born in the sixth century B.C., the son of a king ruling over a small state in the Himalayan foothills [in the northwest of what is now India, the land of the Sakas or Sakyas, presently Afghanistan].

His given name was Siddhattha and his family name Gotama (Siddhartha Gautama in Sanskrit). Raised in luxury, groomed by his father to be the heir to the throne, in his early manhood he went through a deeply disturbing encounter with the sufferings of life, as a result of which he lost all interest in the pleasures and privileges of rulership.

One night, in his 29th year, he abandoned the royal city and [traveling east] entered the forest to live as an ascetic, resolved to find a way to deliverance from suffering. For six years he experimented with different systems of meditation [under two yogis] and subjected himself to severe austerities, but he found that these practices did not bring him any closer to his actual goal.

Finally, in his 35th year, while sitting in deep meditation beneath a tree at Gaya, he attained Supreme Enlightenment and became, in the proper sense of the title, "the Buddha," the Enlightened One.

The Buddha, Penang, Malaysia (Mark Neilson/ Hotel Lust List/flickr.com)

Thereafter, for 45 years, he traveled throughout northern India, proclaiming the truths he had discovered and founding an order of monks and nuns to carry on this message around the world and far into the future. At the age of 80, after a long and fruitful life, he passed into final-nirvana peacefully in the small town of Kusinara (Kushinagar, India), surrounded by a large number of disciples.

To his followers, the Buddha is neither a god, a divine incarnation, or a prophet bearing a message of divine revelation. He is a human being who by his own striving and intelligence has reached the highest spiritual attainment of which man is capable -- perfect wisdom, full enlightenment, complete purification of mind.

His function in relation to humanity (and the devas on earth and in space) is that of a teacher -- a world teacher who, out of compassion, points out to others the way to nirvana, final release from all suffering.

His teaching, known as the Dharma (Pali Dhamma), offers a body of instructions explaining the true nature of existence and showing the path that leads to liberation.

Free from all dogmas and inscrutable claims to authority, the Dharma is founded solidly upon the bedrock of the Buddha's own clear comprehension of reality, and it leads the one who practices it to that same understanding -- the knowledge which extricates the roots of suffering.

The title
American monk Bhikkhu Bodhi
The title "Dhammapada," which the ancient compilers of the Buddhist scriptures attached to this anthology, means portions, aspects, or sections of Dharma.

The work has been given this title because, in its 26 chapters, it spans the multiple aspects of the Buddha's teaching, offering a variety of standpoints from which to gain a glimpse into its heart.

Whereas the longer sutras or discourses of the Buddha found in the prose sections of the Canon usually proceed methodically, unfolding according to the sequential structure of the doctrine, the Dhammapada lacks such a systematic arrangement.

The work is simply a collection of inspirational or pedagogical verses on the fundamentals of the Dharma, to be used as a basis for personal edification and instruction. More

Bhikkhu Bodhi
Bhikkhu Bodhi is an American Buddhist monk from New York City. As a student of Balangoda Ananda Maitreya, Ven. Nyanaponika, Ven. Nyanatiloka, and other eminent scholars, he is -- in the estimation of Wisdom Quarterly: American Buddhist Journal -- the greatest living scholar-monk alongside the Ven. Pa Auk Sayadaw, whose growing extremely learned and practical body of translations are, sadly, much less accessible to English readers. After completing his university studies in California he traveled to Sri Lanka, where he received became a Buddhist monk in 1973. He returned to the USA in 2002 and currently resides at Chuang Yen Monastery (BAUS.org) in upstate New York and Bodhi Monastery in New Jersey. He is in demand worldwide as a speaker, scholar, and Buddhist teacher. Renowned for his systematic and elegant translations of Buddhist scriptures, Ven. Bodhi has many important publications to his credit, including A Comprehensive Manual of Abhidhamma, The Middle Length Discourses of the Buddha, The Connected Discourses of the Buddha, and an excellent and very accessible anthology In the Buddha’s Words.

Extraterrestrial Origins: Buddhism and Ancient Texts

Sakka, king of the gods (BangkokPost.net)

Sakka [Indra], chief of the deities, is a deva (divinity, celestial being) in a lower celestial world. He is often spoken of in early Buddhist texts. There is even a sutra (discourse) dedicated to explaining how he was reborn as a "god" and how anyone can do the same. If one reads of his exploits and benevolence, one recognizes JudeoChristian elements in his life. He is by no means an almighty creator. Nevertheless, he is often war with malevolent forces who seek to set fire to and overrun his heavenly mansions, in what some might call a battle between archangels and titans (devas and asuras -- refined-godlings versus coarse-demons).

In fact, the similarities between the major religions of the world are striking. The following video explains in more contemporary terms the origin of these stories and scriptural histories. Oldest among the religious texts of the world are the Vedas, the story of Gilgamesh, and other records that frequently refer to extraterrestrial life, "heavenly beings" (beings with light-bodies who live in celestial quarters), and UFO craft (Sanskrit, vimana). Nagas and Naga Kings are a clear reference to "reptilians," human overlords long regarded in various cultures and texts (cf. Bible)as serpents, snakes, and dragons.

MESSAGE FROM PLEIADIANS

While it may all strike one as only so much conspiracy theory and woo-woo speculation, that does not in itself discredit the underlying information. Either religion is wrong and humanity is just what it seems -- a random assortment of fortuitous DNA existing briefly in a lonely, cold, dead cosmos -- or there's much more to the story. If only we are willing to listen without prejudice at what so many ancient texts contain allegorically or through their own cultural lenses. They recorded what they did for a reason, and it could hardly be a coincidence that these odd tales bear so many striking similarities. What early Buddhism taught would dumbfound most readers who assume it to be a rational, soulless philosophy all about personal responsibility and meditative bliss.

The Battle in [a] Heaven
79. The number of those emancipated from the network of dangers created by manifold ills (spirits, robbers, etc.) is innumerable. Therefore, this protective discourse (paritta) is recited.

80. Thus I have heard. The Exalted One was staying at Jetavana, in Savatthi, in Anathapindika's monastery. He addressed the disciples regarding this incident.

81. "Long ago, recluses, a battle was raging between the gods and the titans. Then Sakka, ruler of the gods [devas], addressed the Gods of the Thirty-three saying, "Dear sirs, when you are gone into battle, if fear, panic, or creeping of the flesh should arise, look up at the crest of my banner. If you do so, any fear, panic, or creeping of the flesh that has arisen will be overcome.

82. If you look not up to the crest of my banner, look up at that of Pajapati, chief of the devas [of that respective celestial plane]...

83. Or at that of Varuna, chief of the devas [of that celestial plane]...

84. Or at that of Isana, chief of the devas [of that celestial plane] and any fear, panic, or creeping of the flesh that has arisen will be overcome.

85. Now, recluses, in those who look up to the crest of one or the other of these banners, any fear, panic, or creeping of the flesh that has arisen can be overcome. Or it may not.

86. And why is this? It is because Sakka, chief of the deities [in that respective celestial plane], is not purged of passions, hate, or ignorance; he is timid, given to panic, to fright, to running away. (The Book of Kindred Sayings, Chp. 11).

A lowly heavenly being (Pali, gandhabba; Sanskrit, gandharva) named Pancasikha -- whose radiance yet lit up the entire grove -- came to see the Buddha and report this from extraterrestrial planes: "Lord, I wish to report to you what I have personally seen and observed when I was in the presence of the Thirty-Three Gods [Tavatimsa celestial plane, where Sakka rules]." "Tell me then, Pancasikha," said the Buddha.

"Lord, in earler days, long ago, on the fast day of fifteenth at the end of the Rains the Thirty-Three Gods assembled and rejoiced that the devas' [numbers] were growing, the asuras' [numbers] declining...Then Sakka uttered the verse: The gods of Thirty-Three rejoice,/their leader too,/Praising the [Buddha], and the Dharma's truth,/Seeing new-come devas, fair and glorious/Who've lived the holy life, now well reborn./Outshining all the rest... (Dhajagga Sutra, DN 19)

Why do they fight? According to Maurice Walshe (The Long Discourses of the Buddha, p. 41), Sakka and the angels of the Realm of the Thirty-Three Gods is a world two planes above the human world. "Their heaven had once been the abode of the asuras [titans], who had been expelled from it. No list of the thirty-three gods exists, but their chief is Sakka (Sanskrit Sakra), who is either a reformed Indra or, as Rhys Davids considered, a Buddhist replacement for him. Many good people were reborn in this realm."

"Rebirth among the asuras or titans is sometimes omitted from the list of separate [rebirth-] destinations. In the Mahayana tradition they are often regarded more favorably than in the Pali Canon -- perhaps a reminiscence of their earlier status as gods." Walshe goes on to explain in a footnote that "the asuras suffered a decline in India, compared with the Persian ahura. They are at war with [some of] the devas, and hence are sometimes termed by Western scholars 'titans.'" He further points out that "humans can be reborn in either camp (see DN 24.1.7 for an example of one born among the asuras)."

If nagas (reptilians) and asuras (titans), as the video suggests, secretly rule and feed off of the emotional turmoil of humans, it would explain demonic-type possession and the senseless acts it can lead some individuals to. Sensational coverage of those acts are focused on by the media. The recent unprovoked beheading and cannibalism of a young man on a Greyhound bus would certainly seem to qualify.

Greyhound bus beheading

TORONTO - Greyhound has scrapped an ad campaign that extolled the relaxing upside of bus travel after one of its passengers was accused of beheading and cannibalizing another traveler. The ad's tag line was "There's a reason you've never heard of 'bus rage.'"

Police investigate the scene around a Greyhound bus about 20 km (12 miles) west of Portage la Prairie, July 31, 2008. A man sleeping on a Greyhound bus as it rolled across the Canadian Prairies was killed and decapitated by his seatmate on Wednesday night, other passengers on the bus told the media. Greyhound spokeswoman Abby Wambaugh said Wednesday a billboard and some tunnel posters near a bus terminal in Toronto are still up and would be removed later in the day. "Greyhound knows how important it is to get these removed and we are doing everything possible," Wambaugh said. "This is something that we immediately asked to be done last week, realizing that these could be offensive." Vince Weiguang Li, who immigrated to Canada from China in 2004, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 22-year-old carnival worker Tim McLean. He has yet to enter a plea.

Thirty-seven passengers were aboard the Greyhound from Edmonton, Alberta, to Winnipeg, Manitoba, as it traveled at night along a desolate stretch of the TransCanada Highway about 12 miles from Portage La Prairie, Manitoba. Witnesses said Li attacked McLean unprovoked, stabbing him dozens of times.

As horrified passengers fled the bus, Li severed McLean's head, displaying it to some of the passengers outside the bus, witnesses said. A police officer at the scene reported seeing the attacker hacking off pieces of the victim's body and eating them, according to a police report. Wambaugh said the ads only appeared in Canada and that some in Ontario and western Canada have already been removed. About 20,000 inserts of the Greyhound ads were scheduled to be put into an Alberta Summer Games handbook but they stopped the presses.
