Maybe it should be, but it's not: Not only are we not Top Cop in any moral/ethical or official sense of the word -- since we look the other way every time it is not in our economic or strategic interest to intervene to stop war crimes -- it is the CIA butting in to stir up trouble, overthrow democratically-elected governments, assassinate leaders (first sending in the Bankers, like the IMF and World Bank, then the Jackals to break kneecaps and depose resisters) and so on.
We only call in the military when corporations can make more money than they would without war -- but only after manufacturing a pretext. We never go without an artificial pretext.
Genocides, invasions, seizures, it's all fine with us, the US. But if tiny Grenada, Somalia, or Haiti step out of line in the slightest -- it's call in the Navy, call in the Air Force, call in the imperial ground troops. The USA is open for business, and business LOVES asymmetric war profits. After the fiasco of Vietnam, why do mothers still send their sons and fathers their daughters?

Oct. 20, 2011 - Col. Kaddafi (Gaddafi, Qaddafi) was reportedly captured alive after two months on the run. The country's new authorities -- sponsored by the US and other western powers -- claim the ousted leader has been taken into custody in his hometown of Sirte, Libya.
It was reportedly overrun by rebel forces. He was soon executed presumably under orders from the people paying the bills. Sirte was the last major stronghold of Kaddafi's old regime supporters for the past two months.
Reporters in Sirte were unable to immediately confirm Kaddafi's capture, or even that the town had fallen to interim forces. Libya's current ruling body, the National Transitional Council, had said they would declare Libya liberated once Sirte fell.
The embarrassing appearance of Kaddafi's son and heir reveals western disinformation campaign (psychological operation).
Reports are now rampant that Kaddafi was assassinated by those who took him into custody for those in the West wishing to keep him quiet. While he was indeed a monster, dictator, and criminal, he was OUR monster, dictator, and criminal. We set him up, kept him going, and are in the market for a new dictator. We will accept nothing less.
War hawks who argue that pacifists should be happy that such a criminal was murdered ignore the fact that this is "business as usual" in the New World Order. Why bother with kangaroo court trials when extrajudicial killings are so much more "convenient"?

The Buddha warned against rape. Using an example of infernal torment for the village practice of taking individuals forcibly, he made sure the audience understood the heavy karmic consequences of allowing sensual desire to rule one's life even for a short time.
Unfortunately, rape is a common war time practice. It has been used systematically as a weapon. It is even observed among animals (e.g., lions). It is thought to be engaged in by otherwise conscientious soldiers. It is made possible because of the very common practice of dehumanizing the opponent. One ethnic group or culture demonizes and ridicules another; its soldiers fight; war crimes ensue.
This debasement leads to the conclusion that things done to them don't count or at least don't hold the weight that doing them to one's in-group would hold.
Rape talks place in other ways, of course. There is financial rape: denuding others through usury and business fraud. Are your creditors cheating you?
