(DW News) Nov. 3, 2025: Israel's former top military lawyer Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi has been arrested following her recent resignation, during which she admitted responsibility for a leaked video showing IDF soldiers abusing a Palestinian detainee in prison. In her resignation letter she called the inmates of the Sde Teiman compound "terrorists of the worst kind" but said that this did not detract from the obligation to investigate alleged abuse. The leaked video caused outrage in Israel and abroad. It also infuriated members of the right-wing government, who brand it an attack on the reputation of the country's armed forces. #IDF #gaysoldiers #sexualabuse
